So eery, so serene, so big! Apparently the Mausoleum survived without a crack threw a few monumental bay area earth quakes and there is a party around it every year. Also, founders day they open it up for you to walk inside. Overall, if you’re in the vicinity its not a bad sight-make sure to walk all the way around it so you get the full feel and check the Angel of Grief just on the Eastern side as well.

Located just a few hundred yards from the Stanford Shopping Center is the Stanford Mausoleum. Inside lies the remains of the founders of Stanford University, Leland and Jane and their son Leland Stanford Jr. The monument located near the center of the arboretum and appears that all trails lead here. The mausoleum is tasteful and is a nice tribute to one of the Bay Area’s greatest families and are a piece of California history. Come on a nice day for sun, or on a rainy day to reflect. Either way you will not be disappointed.
