Me and my family come here often, whether it’s for special occasions or just because we’re hungry, and every time we enjoy ourselves to the fullest! Unagi is especially good here !

I’m a fan of their mussels because they’re so fresh! You can still smell the fishy aroma on them. No comments on the sushi since I only eat cooked ones(caterpillar rolls!).

Visited again, remembering the great sushi they had despite the mediocre service from my prior experience. Service was better but the sushi was beyond poor. What a waste of my money. Their albacore was the worst albacore I have ever tasted. Their uni had brown spots… we tried to ignore it and just ate it but of course it tasted old and super unfresh. Can’t believe sushi chefs would have the decency to serve that. Don’t even get me started with the halibut that was drenched in sauce, probably to cover up its horrible taste too. And their rolls, oh my god their rolls were disgusting. It just tasted like crabmeat that soaked up gallons of mayo. Idk what happened, the sushi was great last time. Maybe we came in on a wrong day? Lol unacceptable.

Amazing amazing amazing. I completely enjoyed the tuna special and the albacore special. If you have tried this little sushi restaurant, you’re missing out. Everytime I go everything is always fresh. The sushi chefs are very friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Highly recommend this place fir dates and delicious sushi!

Came here today with a couple coworkers after a meeting. All 3 of us got the all-you-can eat, and ordered 6 rolls. The rolls were the Philadelphia Roll, Crunch Roll, 911 Roll, Pathfinder Roll, Aloha Roll, and Fire Roll. The good: +The Spicy Tuna and Crunch Rolls were good. They’re pretty basic rolls and easy to do, but they were good here +The service was GREAT. Everyone was friendly, attentive, sushi chefs were friendly as well. The ok: –The Fire Roll was fine. Spicy, tasted alright. –I’m not a Philly Roll fan, but coworkers said it was fine. The bad: –The Aloha Roll was maybe the worst roll I’ve ever tasted in my life. My coworkers and I each touched 1 piece and left the rest. –The Pathfinder Roll was also really bad. We didn’t finish that either. So in summary, there were a couple good/decent rolls, some that were whatever, and some that were downright awful. Despite the friendly service, I know I won’t be back here. Shame.

This place is awesome. Even though me and my fiancée are allergic to shrimp. We usually get the all you can eat and our go to order is usually the baked salmon. There’s so many choices that you can choose from. The price is very affordable too. Lunch is $ 21.99(11:30am-3pm) and dinner $ 25.99(3pm-closed). Highly recommended

This place has got to be in the top 5WORST sushi places of orange county. I have never had a meal that tasted so flavorless– I’m specifically talking about the nigiri because everything else was smothered in sauces. (Not that some of the sauces didn’t taste good or anything, but I paid for fish and when the nigiri tastes like crap, there’s a huge problem! Basically everything here tastes like an «all you can eat» type of food. And when your all you can eat sushi tastes like«all you can eat» quality. Then you know you probably didn’t get your money’s worth! 0⁄5 Salmon — super thick, cuts that didn’t taste like anything to me. Big rice. Really a displeasure to eat. −2÷5 Tuna — I don’t know why I even bothered getting tuna. I should have known it was going to be some really bad«all you can eat» flavored crap. Regretted this one the most, negative rating. 4⁄5 Appetisers — surprisingly, pretty much everything listed under the«appetisers» and some of the no-rice rolls tasted really good. I guess in retrospect, anything that didn’t have rice, and was smothered in some kinds of sauces tasted okay. Everything else 0⁄5 would never return again. I really don’t understand why this place has so many 5 star ratings. Though we were told by one of the waitresses that if we left a Unilocal review we would get free ice cream.(Ice-cream should normally be free at all you can eat anyways…) Perhaps most of these 5 star reviews are pressure from the restaurant? Or perhaps it’s a bunch of «trendy» kids who have absolutely no idea what good sushi is supposed to taste like? Also this was the first time in all my all you can eat experience, that we have ever been threatened by the staff that we would be charged for leftovers. 50% of normal price per leftover. Normally at AYCE you can usually get away with 2 — 6 pieces left over. They usually don’t bother to make a big deal out of it. Also asking for the bill prior to finishing everything is a viable strategy. I’d say we had close to 6 — 8 pieces left over. Now I don’t really blame them for enforcing their«rules» on AYCE. I mean some of the stuff tasted like crap, I think we shouldn’t have to eat the stuff that seriously tastes like garbage. Anyways it never feels pleasant to be threatened with extra charges. Especially when you’re already bloated and full and unsatisfied, now we have to pay more for what? Really really really low quality sushi that I could probably have bought raw salmon at Costco and had a better sushi experience myself. Seriously what’s with all the 5 star reviews on Unilocal?I’m starting to feel like I can’t trust any restaurant with 5 star averages. Also some of the Unilocal pictures show some really cool and awesome«chef special» items which made this place look really interesting, however by «chef special» it basically meant«not for you.» There was nothing good about this place when we went. Never again.

My friend recommended this place saying it’s a decent all you can eat sushi place. It is bit pricey but I was surprised by the size of sushi. We ordered large amount of sushi, expecting small sizes but we quickly regretted after seeing its huge sizes of salmon. The service was nice too. They have giant sized cups which also surprised me. It’s not noisy or crowded so it’s perfect place to chill with your friends. I would definitely come again!

Great and amazing service as always. There’s a reason why I always come here as my go-to place and it’s because of the quality of the fish. You definitely won’t be disappointed, and did I mention that they have all you can eat here?! AYCEALLDAYBABY! The location is small so there might be a wait, but I haven’t been to a sushi restaurant that competes with the service, quality of food, and responsiveness of the business!

I always feel bad leaving a review lower than the average a restaurant has when the restaurant didn’t do anything wrong. I’ll be quick and to the point on this one. Good service. Nice sushi chefs. All you can eat is available and their variety of sushi, rolls and other items is really good. I just can’t leave a higher rating because of the quality of food. Yes I know, what can you expect out of an all you can eat sushi place in terms of quality. I’ll even admit. You don’t go to AYCE for the quality. But even with low expectations the quality of the sushi was meh.

Pros: I’m not dead. Cons: oh lemme tell ya. have a seat, it’s gonna take a while. 1. understaffed and terrible service 2. items never came. 3. $ 4 for tea!!! wtf? 4. complete disregard for consumer’s allergies. This place seems like a family owned business that just opened with the thought process of lets sell food and make money. but no. a restaurant is much more than that. A restaurant is supposed to provide an enjoyable experience. People don’t go there to just eat. What i mean by this is that one of the two servers did not know what which rolls were. It seems like she was just someone’s mom that was recruited into helping the family business so they wouln’t have to pay for a server… i kinda feel bad, she wasn’t mean or unpleasant… just didn’t provide service… she didn’t refill our waters or our teas… I mean. that’s kind of what i’m getting at is customers don’t want to just eat… they want to know what they’re eating. they want drinks to be filled… just run a take out place if you can’t provide service… When one of our party went up to ask a chef if something contained a specific ingredient, they were like no no we don’t have any. and so then we got to one particular roll which they said contained a little mustard… and she was like oh crap. but they didn’t seem particularly concerned. Didn’t ask if she was okay or if there was anything they could help with… ok… Also one or two items that we ordered never came… oh yeah and the oysters. like someone else mentioned. they didn’t taste very fresh… They were not good at all. Anyways. one of my friends I came with said tea was free. so i took her word for it. it was $ 4… wtf? who charges $ 4 for barley tea? at most KBBQ places they offer it for free. at most places, any tea is complementary. I dont think barley tea is a particularly expensive variety… so why does it cost $ 4? Additionally, if i’m paying $ 4 for a frigging cup of tea, you’d expect them to refill it… not so. I had to ask twice for a refill. yeah theres only two servers for the restaurant… maybe 7 – 10 other parties in the house… I get that servers forget sometimes but yo… bottom line. don’t price tea at $ 4. it’s ridiculous. there’s nothing special about your tea. I was about as salty as their dishes were… oh yeah. and their nigiri. everyone says good fish to rice ratio. I agree with that. but yo… i don’t think these chefs have ever been taught how to cut sashimi… you don’t cut them into huge blocks… the slices here are so thick that It detracts from the taste of the fish when you dip it into soysauce… eugh. oh yeah. uni portions are probably half of the typical AYCE joint with double the rice. eh. rolls weren’t that great. krab everything drenched in sauce.

This place is amazing! Just found my new favorite AYCE place and couldn’t be more pleased. The last few times I attempted to dine at Sake 2 Me, I ended up leaving because the wait was unbearable. I came here on a Saturday night and was seated immediately. The restaurant itself is small and in a very unassuming area(same plaza as shoe city and Daiso). The AYCE was $ 28/person for dinner. There were a ton of choices from rolls to sushi to appetizers. I was so blown away by the taste, portion, and promptness of each order. Seems like they have more than one person working on your order at a time because our food came out like lightning. The rice under the sushi is seriously the little amount I have ever seen at an AYCE place. The fish tasted great, yellowtail, unagi, and salmon were among my favorites. I was pleasantly surprised to see they offer live shrimp and uni here too. The uni is smaller in portions compared to other sushi places though. Some must orders: Yellowtail, salmon, albacore, tamago, unagi, green mussels, shrimp boat. Orders to pass: halibut and live oysters(both had very odd bitter after tastes). So glad to have discovered this place and will definitely be coming back the next time I’m craving sushi without limitations.

Went there for lunch and ordered the sashimi special and a Aloha roll with a spicy yellow tail roll during happy hour. I heard this place is pretty good so I decided to give it a shot. The order came in pretty fast and the service was ok. However, the foods were rather disappointing. The sashimi special came first, and from its look, it already didn’t look fresh. The dull appearence of the sashimi revealed that the fishes have been frozen for too long, especially the tuna. Salmon was still tender but it contained a slightly bitter taste — indication that the fish has been frozen for several times. The albacore was ok because the outter layer was slightly grilled. Tuna was probably the most disappointing of all because I felt like I was eating a protein bar — it was so chunky and hard to chew! As for the rolls, the appearence of both rolls were unappetizing by just looking at it. When I tried to pick up a piece of spicy yellow tail roll with the chopstick, that piece nearly fell apart; which showed how poorly wrapped it was. The taste of the spicy yellow tail was too salty that I barely tasted the fish. Same applied to the Aloha roll; I pretty much only tasted the saltiness and the cilantro. Overall, this whole meal was unpleasant. I went during happy hour so that might be one of the reasons why the quality dropped. Nonetheless, I don’t think think the quality of food should be affected simply because of happy hour. I will probably not come back again if I have a choice.

This is the third time of visiting hikari sushi. Regardless of how bad it was for the services in the past, this time is better customer service along with quality fishes. I still remember one night i came to this restaurant and be asked by unwelcoming lady if i came to eat by myself. Ridiculous thing is because one person is on waiting list which she means is i gotta wait about more than 45 mins to have my own seat no matter how sooner i came than other people were waiting behind me. That big matter kicked me out. Honestly though, i dont even want to drag any business down and because the food here is so good, i still bring myself to here, i kinda want to try if the service is better, and this time is good to release my deep anger(lol). Yup, they sometimes still forget my order, but the old lady was nice to me the whole time i enjoy my lunch, i still have good vibe. Believe it or not, sushi here are preserved in different better way(lets not talk about other 5 star sushi places, cause you know its a big gap, compare to other 2 star sushi place you might feel how much it worths for your time eating here). Good decoration, generous fishes, variety on the menu, the services are improving. I would recommend you guys come here with 2 or more people, you can get their attention as quick as other customers cant

**service** Service was great. A little micro-managing from Our server though probably because no one else was in the building. She made some good suggestions which we appreciated but she did hover over us a lot. I just want to each without being watched so closely. Haha! **food** Appetizers are small enough so that you leave space For the rolls! The house salad dressing is amazing. Some sushi spots make the carrot ginger dressing super thick! This dressing is easy on the taste buds, light, and more reduced in thickness making the flavor profile much richer. In other words, the dressing is awesome! I love hand rolls. This is the 2nd spot I’ve been to that dont allow vegetables(cucumbers) in their hand rolls if the guest is doing Ayce! That’s a little weird but he made an «exception» for me. Still don’t understand why it’s an issue but ok, he made it for me anyway so I can’t complain too much. The sushi rice was also on the sweeter side. Rolls-a lot of spicy mayo. Not a fan of spicy mayo, but the server noticed me scraping it off and told the chef to not add any spicy mayo in the future rolls. Nice touch! Also, there’s ALOTOFCRABMEAT. Like too much. I was picking out mountains of it. I didn’t see any desserts on the menu but the chef offered us green tea ice cream at the conclusion of our meal. Another really nice touch. All in all, 4 stars for service, quickness, and quality.

Although I would have rather dined in, my hub convinced me to order«to-go» for New Years«shogatsu». Hikari Sushi 2 was my choice. Bye Bye Sushi Boy. You’ve been replaced, forever! Hikari didn’t disappoint. Fresh, huge pieces of sashimi, it could hardly be called«sushi».(only tiny bits of rice under each piece of fish) Great assortment. I ordered catering plate #B. Yummy. Special thanks to «Jimmy» for accommodating my son’s food allergy to tuna. xoxo

Positive experience here all two times I’ve been! What you need to know: — Great fish to rice ratio; I love me some salmon and this does the trick — Gigantor drinks(as in soda) — Unique items for AYCE — uni, sweet shrimp, oysters, quail egg shooters; and get this, they don’t taste cheap! — Decent rolls, I usually only get 2 at most if I’m sharing… otherwise, nigiri and hand rolls are the way to go — Quick service… you order and wait like 5 minutes before a floodgate of food arrives at your table I’ve been recommending this to everyone I know as it has dethroned my previous top AYCE sushi spots as of late(close tie between Sake 2 Me and Soyokaze). Writing this review has convinced me to go at least once in December…

My favorite AYCE sushi in Orange County. I definitely believe in quality over quantity when it come’s to sushi. However, my date for the night was my 13 year old brother that can’t tell the difference higher and lower grade quality sushi. We decided to meet in the middle and try Hikari Sushi 2! I was expecting something along the lines of Sake 2 Me, Sushi Monster, or Sushi Asahi… But it was better than all these places! I loved the fresh oysters, eel, cajun roll, salmon to rice ratio, availability of uni, michelle roll(small portion of baked salmon), and magnolia(riceless). Being able to have so much variety made the meal worth it. I would probably pass on the scallops. I love hotate but I don’t like the small mini scallops. Sat at the bar so all the food came out super fast! There’s only two rounds so order wisely :)

AYCE sushi! Similar to places like Sake 2 Me, you get a couple rounds of ordering from the various types of fish or rolls that are available. What I like about this place was that they have uni, oysters and raw shrimp! With these however, you are limited to 1 order per person. Uni was smooth and the oysters were fresh. Salmon is always my go to fish and they don’t skimp on this at all! Large pieces if fish with a minimal rice mound so it doesn’t act as a filler. Probably the #1 thing that put this place over others is the service. Right when you walk in the door you feel welcomed! Everyone greets you with a smile and are always walking around being attentive. Jasmin, the older lady, was the best of all! She literally talks to every table and not just a little greeting either; she tries to have a full on conversation which I like. She is really sweet and caring. Go to this place just for the over the top service!
