My co-workers and I decided to try Faccia Luna after spending a week in State College recruiting for work and after having a VERY sub par experience at a restaurant the night before. We were more than delighted by the freshness and quality of the food as well as the service and friendliness of the staff. We were famished so we ordered what seems like one of everything! We ordered 2 bread sticks, a medium Quattro Formaggio and a large Ricotta. As if that wasn’t enough, we also had an order of Pesto & Tomato Sauce with Spinach Linguine, a seabass pasta special of the day, Italian Grinder and a Luna Salad, whew! Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, WARNING to all… there is absolutely no need to order bread sticks individually because EVERY entrée comes with bread and we were wayyy over capacity on bread. Not one person finished their food so the portions are really heaping. I personally had the spinach linguine dish and it was pretty good but I was already pretty full from eating the table pizza… what on earth was I thinking?! The food is really fresh and the only complaints we had were that there was bread overload and that the priscuitto was more like ham. All in all, a great experience and I’d go back any time I find myself in Penn State’s back yard!

Good service and good food. I was expecting the pizza to be a little more well done because it’s wood fired.

The brick oven pizza was too soggy. The garlic bread tasted stale. The most disappointment was the water. It pretty much tasted like it came from the sink. Overall, would not recommend to a friend.

The pizza I ordered was burned crust. The lady on phone was rude, she couldnt remember the toppings I was ordering. I had to repeat it several to times. I waited 25 minutes to pick up pizza and then I was charged extra $ 1.25 when I arrived the way they rang up the order. I had to dispute and then it got fixed. Overall bad experience. Not worth the money and service.

This is some good pizza. It tastes very fresh like maybe even the tomato sauce is made there. It’s not the cheapest pizza in penn state, buts is pretty damn good. If youre debating ordering from here or somewhere else, order from here.

Fantastic pizza delivery! I was able to get a beautiful 10″ pizza delivered to me that still looked and tasted like it had just come out of the over. Looking forward to ordering from them again soon

Very good environment and friendly service. The pizza and other dishes are really tasty and the amount of food is big enough. The price is really reasonable. Definitely will come back again.

Great authentic Italian food including handmade pasta. Wood fired pizza is fantastic. I did find it a little odd that there are only three options for salad dressing and none of them were Italian. Service was good and the décor was fitting for a rustic Italian restaurant. The parking, however, was the worst. They share a parking lot with a motel and we had to park down the street. But it was worth the effort!

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Faccia Luna for the first time this weekend and we absolutely loved it. There was a wait for a table so we sat at the bar and decided to have dinner there. We ordered the mussels with white wine and bacon which were just incredible, we didn’t want to let the broth go. We also had the salamini pizza and the chicken parm, both of which were fresh and delicious. I think it’s a testament to any Italian restaurant when they make their pasta fresh in house. It’s a simple thing(and yes, time consuming) but impressive and shows they care. Keith was our bartender and he was just awesome, he chatted with us and was super hospitable. I asked him to make me a cocktail a specific way that I like it(an old fashioned) and he obliged without hesitation. Thank you Faccia Luna for the delicious food and thank you Keith for the hospitality! We will be back!

Faccia has really gone downhill. there are now SOMANY great pizza places in State College, why put CANNED tomatoes on your pizzas? Talk about phoning it in :(We got a pizza with tomatoes(canned), sundried tomatoes(never tasted one bite that tasted even slightly like the rich flavor of sundried tomatoes) and mozzarella. Bland, a real disappointment. Our party also got a pizza with pepperoni(you can’t mess that up) and italian sausage. While the pizza itself was bland and boring, I did love that the sausage was shaved, not sliced, so paper thin all over the pizza. That brought them to two stars, and nothing else. Lastly, we got an italian sub to take home. Picture a burnt, typical(nothing special) hoagie roll… yes, burnt. Very crunchy, so your mouth will feel this for a day or two, because the burnt roll will shred your mouth. Picture decent meats, but all are on the very bottom of the hoagie roll. The top is all lettuce and sliced tomato. Unless you can wrap your mouth around the whole thing, most bites are lettuce and burnt bread. Not impressed. I will stick with Brother’s Pizza on College Ave(not the other two Brothers’ in town…) and keep checking out the other local places. I won’t be going back to Faccia.

Came here with my entire family when we were in town for my brother’s gradation. We had the garlic bread and the bruschetta for appetizers and I wasn’t very impressed. Then the pizza came and it was DELICIOUS. As a New Yorker, I didn’t have high expectations of the pizza in a small Pennsylvania town but I was blown away. We ordered the Marinara, the Genovese, and the Primavera. I love pesto so my favorite was the Genovese but the Marinara had a great taste that my entire family couldn’t get enough of. The dough was light so you didn’t feel uncomfortably full even after a couple of slices and the crust was good enough to eat! If I lived in the area, I would go back weekly. Highly recommend!

I’m very critical of my pizza so don’t take this to the heart! Overall flavor is up there, not your typical bland over cheesed chain pizza. Pepperoni is as tasty as it comes, cooks nicely and gets crisp just as I like it. I prefer blended provolone and mozzarella mixed with prov being more dominant. But the taste was not great but nowhere near bad, but that maybe tweaked by my wife ordering extra cheese. My biggest complaint, the bottom crust was not cooked properly! I believe that the pizza may have been left to sit in the same spot cooling the stone down. Leaving the center soft and lightly cooked, getting wet when put on the tray, but the outer crust was great!

I had the eggplant parm which was extremely«eh» for the price. The portion was fairly small and didn’t have much cheese on it. Come on, a good eggplant parm should be smothered in gooey mozzerella. It was served on a bed of garlic pasta that was equally«eh.» Service was slightly above«eh» as was the salad. I guess I should have ordered the pizza…

Hands down best pizza in state college. No other pizza shop could hold an argument. Ordered the Faccia Luna pizza my first time with the salmon bruschetta as an appetizer to share with my fiancé — both were phenomenal! Pizza was out of this world! Service was also great, waitress was very prompt, our glasses were never empty long. Cons: parking at this place sucks.

Great wood fire pizza. But I was expecting something slightly more upscale with respect to the décor, which was borderline dive/diner/sports bar.

We ate a lot of pizza during a week long stay in State College. The pizza here rivals anything else you’ll eat in town(although this wasn’t our favorite). Meanwhile, we came in with an appetite and ordered far more than we needed. Fortunately, it provided us a good barometer for the scope of entrees. One thing you’ll notice is portions are large. The Italian is a strong average, but value is high simply because of the amount of food they slap on your plate. For example, dive into the chicken alfredo or chicken parm and you’ll be set with dinner and lunch the next day. These meals aren’t award winning by any means, but they sure fill you up and leave nothing to complain about. The Italian wedding soup that comes with your meal is what you’d expect. We also started with the Luna salad. We thought it was an actual salad, but didn’t read the menu properly. It’s more of an antipasto and tasted good. This is a solid place in town for dinner with an upbeat atmosphere(there’s a few scattered TVs to watch games), good service and likely a place you’ll return to. It’s ideal for a date, family meal or large parties when in town for events.

Some of the best pizza in State College. Don’t come for the entrees, eat the pizza. In fact, come back and make sure you try all of their wood-fired oven pizza. It’s got a unique flavor that you’ll only get here. Casual date spot, but better for having pizza and beer with friends.

Stopped into Faccia Luna with friends while passing through State College on our way from Virginia to Ohio. We’d had a lot of junky, sugary food during our vacation weekend, & we were ready for something heartier, a real meal. This little pizzeria didn’t disappoint. We were seated right near the wood-fired oven, where the cooks were tossing homemade pizza dough. Always nice to see the process in the process! Our server was friendly & attentive, quick to refill our waters, & our tomato bruschetta appetizer came out almost immediately. Very fresh! For dinner, I ordered the 10″ genovese — potato, pesto, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil — with added bacon. When it arrived with ham instead of bacon, & the server noticed it before I did, apologizing immediately & saying he’d take it back to have a new one made for me ASAP. I told him I didn’t mind & ate the one he’d brought out, which turned out to be really delicious despite(& maybe because of!) the mistake. Doughy crust, blackened-but-not-burnt bottom, non-greasy topping, thin-cut potatoes, very fresh tomatoes… really delicious. On top of that, I thought the whole pie seemed bigger than 10″; at six large pieces, it was definitely enough food for three meals for me. I took more than half of it home, & it tasted just as good reheated as it did fresh. I wouldn’t call it the best Italian food I’ve ever had, as others reviewers have, but it was damn tasty, & I would definitely go back if I lived close enough.

You could tell is a very different kind of pizza, if you like papa johns and pizza hut, probably this will be the closest retort to a genuine Italian pizza. The crab cake is one of my oldests son favorites. Nice prices.
