Went to Red Lobster with a party of nine to celebrate a birthday. Establishment was very helpful and accommodating and service was good. Two servers were available to take orders and they did a good job with drinks and entrees. The problem was with the quality of some entrees. I had a shrimp three ways entrée with fried, popcorn, and scampi, baked potato and Caesar salad. The shrimp was not good — none of the three different types were good. The scampi, which has been on their menu forever and is usually fine but maybe a little greasy with all the butter, but this time the shrimp just tasted off. The fried shrimp tasted like it was old or maybe in the freezer too long — the breading was kind of separating from the shrimp. The popcorn shrimp was especially bad — I’m not even sure it was shrimp. The pieces were all different sizes, some were like little balls, and others were longer and curved, and some were just like a nugget. They all tasted different — some were very fishy and other tasted just like fried breading. They were too nasty to finish. One of our party was also unhappy with the coconut shrimp and scallops dish — the scallops were dried out and the shrimp just didn’t taste good. Another had a sirloin and grilled shrimp combo. The steak was cooked properly but very tough. He said the grilled shrimp was actually good. So overall the service and establishment would get good marks, but the quality of many food items was inconsistent, especially things that you would think were easy to do correctly like shrimp scampi, popcorn /fried shrimp. Makes me question the quality of these specific food items or the prep methods.

Visited this location tonight. Was seated right away. Sat there for 45 min and not one staff member acknowledged we were there. Other customers were sitting there as well, again with no service. What is going on???

LOVED it, the food is fantastic and the one thing no one knows about Red Lobster is that they do not serve any fish that is endangered or on the over fished list or anything like that. They are environmentally thoughtful of what fish they serve. The waitress was super nice and even suggested we share a dinner, which we did and she brought us extra plates, etc. The food was great, the Pinot Noir was good. Great value too! GO there, don’t think it is a Chain, because chains are OK if they are Red Lobster or Dairy Queen :)

This red lobster is located in State College. I thought because it was a college town there was gonna be a lot of college kids eating inside this was not the case. The place was crowded but there was no wait. Our waitress was very nice and a tentative the only issue that I had was when she introduced yourself and went over the menu she went over almost every item on the menu! She probably was telling us what was on the menu for 10 minutes. Finally somebody at my table told her OK you don’t have to go over everything on the menu we can read the menu. I had lobster tacos which I thought were good. The rice that came with the tacos I thought was very good and I could’ve just eaten a bowl of that. I don’t really go to red lobster that often but I’ve noticed that it’s always crowded and noisy. Overall I thought the food was good it was nothing special. If you’re around the Penn State campus I do recommend stopping here if you’re in the mood for seafood.

I ordered Bar harbor lobster bake and Ultimate feast. Those were pretty yummy and plentiful for 2 people. The server was definitely friendly. I am totally satisfied with the service and the quality of the dishes.

If you want to find the best waiter ever, go to red lobster. Ask for JAMES. He knows the menu from up to down. He can recommend you a plate if you just give him an idea of what you want. He was so awesome! I do not like to brag but this time I should say he deserved 20% tip!!! Since the beginning the attention was 10 out of 10. The salad comes with the entrée, fresh parmesan cheese on my caesar salad. The biscuits come as appetizer, they were just made, warm, soft, great taste! My main dish was tilapia with broccoli and pasta. They cook made a great job! The place is very cozy. It is also clean, smells good, not food not grease. I hope you find it as good as I did. The portion of the plates is huge! I think 17 dols for plate is worth it, I might say that with one dish two people can eat.

We had an awful dining experience there recently. They did okay through sitting us down and taking orders. We had 8 people in our party, and 7 people were fed promptly. The servers who showed up to drop off the food had no idea – none, whatsoever – who ordered what, forcing us to switch our meals back and forth many times. Good thing the diners did not mind this. The last meal did not come out for a good 10 minutes after the first 7 did. Someone asked the 8th person«what did you order that stymied them so?» It was a salad with grilled fish on top of it. The waitress, who totally did not seem to care that one item was missing completely until we flagged her down to ask, eventually said that the salad took so long because«they had to wait for the fish.» The fish itself was overcooked the point of tasting like pink rubber. I suspect they just forgot about it totally, and then panicked and overcooked the fish. I am not going there again.

We visited this Red Lobster and enjoyed the new renovation, the service and the food was wonderful. The best part of our visit was our amazing waitress. She was upbeat, attentive, and just downright charming. She smiled often and worked hard at making sure we were satisfied with our meal and her service. She seemed to work very well with her other team members and could be seen clearing and helping others when she wasn’t busy with her own tables. She absolutely shined! Our food was delicious, the price was right, but mostly the staff was well trained and positive. Kudos to the managerial staff for hiring employees that definitely make them look good! We will come back again and again(as long as we can have Marie wait on us!)

This location just completed it’s renovation. They got rid of the kitsch décor and it now feels like a more upscale restaurant chain. They updated the menu and the food tastes fresher. I ordered the New Orleans Salmon with roasted red potatoes and the caesar salad. The salad was fresh and the new red potatoes were tasty. The salmon and shrimp were good, but the menu said the dish was«spicy,» however I think they had that on there for people who usually eat very mild food as the dish was not spicy to my tastes – though it was still good. And of course the cheddar bay biscuits, which are always great. ‘d go back and get the same thing again.

Like any chain food restaurant, you know generally know what you’re getting yourself into. The food is decent, the customer service is good. Overall, a decent place and recommend if you want some seafood that’s a few stars above Long John Silvers but won’t break your wallet.

The endless shrimp wasn’t that flavorful and the fillet got was just mediocre. The coconut shrimp here is really good though. I haven’t tried the lobster here yet so my rating could still change. Maybe.

Can always get quality food. I like family owned joints because there’s always something ‘extra’ in the feel of it. But I love Red Lobster and their seafood. Its never done wrong.

I’m all about trying local restaurants, but sometimes it’s nice to check out a chain, and know exactly what you’re going to get. Red Lobster in State College is just that… the service is alright, nothing special, and the food tastes like every other Red Lobster. They have a cute little outdoor dining area as well. 1MAJOR issue… The waitress said she wasn’t sure she could accept a passport as ID. Are you effing kidding me? A passport is a HELL of a lot more official than a license. She actually had to ask the manager. I’m sorry that you’re ignorant and you’ve never seen a passport before. Not my fault dumbie!
