I wouldn’t suggest going to The Attic on college they were not very nice and had little to no professionalism … and there used stuff was still expensive. The girl checking my friends clothes talked to her friends at the counter the whole time and when my friend asked how long it was going to take for her to finish(after the 20 mins had passed that she said it would take) she told my roommate that she could take her clothes else where. So I called and asked to speak to the manager who is supposedly the girl with«dark hair and is short»(cause my friends has also told me that she doesn’t have the best days) that was not very nice at all to us or others, I called to tell them that they should be more professional and positive and she insulted my friend and said its not professional that I call about my friend being a patron of the store instead of her calling her self and the reason for the unprofessionalism is the budget that they have and that her positivity level was as good as it gets… I am sorry but if you are trying to help your budget(keep having customers) wouldn’t you want to be nicer to the customers along with being more professional and positive… Who lets her run that store? lol well at least itll be nice to see what is there next year … I hope its candy again lol Id rather try my chances at goodwill where it’ll at least be cheap and the old ladies there are really sweet lol

I went in to sell some clothing and give it a shot since the store was new. First of all, the SMELL is overwhelming. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you’re smelling an old gym bag that was left in an attic(no pun intended) for a few years. I have asthma so I’m allergic to mold and I felt my throat close up a bit. Anyhow, I went in and gave a bag of clothes. Most of it was Free People, Theory, Kensie, and a Tory Burch wristlet I hadn’t used. Much of it wasn’t even worn yet with the tags still on. They were incredibly rude and told me they couldn’t take any of it. Wow! Maybe they have never heard of these brands before? I just sold most of it on Ebay instead and made an over $ 200 profit, which ended up being better for me anyhow, so I can’t be too mad. I’ve walked by the store a few times and I’ve seen them selling used counterfeit bags and wallets, which is illegal. They had a fake Prada bag, Burberry, and, of course, Coach. Anyone who has taken one look at a real bags knows IMMEDIATELY what’s a fake and what’s not. My suggestion is to educate your employees on how to spot counterfeit items and certainly do not sell them.

Awesome clothes! Horrible service. The manager here insulted me. Showed such a lack of professionalism and she was extremely rude. Despite that they did give me a good amount of store credit for the clothes I brought in.

The Attic is basically Central Pennsylvania’s answer to Buffalo Exchange and other«consignment”-ish stores. If you’re not familiar with the world outside of Happy Valley, it’s like Plato’s Closet, but with a wider breadth of merchandise. I came here to sell. First of all, they were totally off on the quoted time. I was told 30 – 45 minutes, and it ended up taking an hour and a half. Perhaps this is just a consequence of the store being new, though, or they underestimated the number of items I brought, so it was definitely forgivable. Just something to be aware of. Anyway, I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, so I took pretty much everything I was looking to get rid of. Most other buy-sell-trade stores are known hipster magnets, and so they cater to that demographic – a mix of the trendier mall retailers, contemporary designers, and on-trend vintage. This store’s demographic… should be college students? but in all honesty, it’s a little fuzzy. They say they take trendy«up to 2 years old» clothes, but they took several things that were a lot older than that from me(in excellent condition). They also do have some«vintage»(well, ‘90s) clothes, and they have plenty of those«teen brands.» That’s the part that confuses me, actually. I saw T-shirts with giant A&F logos that I haven’t seen anyone wear in at least 5 years. Aren’t we all over that phase? That aside, my advice for selling is to ask yourself if you could see the item being sold in a store now. Yes? Then it’s worth a shot. In the end, I have to say that I agree with the items they picked from my pile. I didn’t leave with that«WTF?» feeling that I get after selling at Plato’s Closet. This makes me think that maybe their odd selection is due to their recent opening, so we can only hope it gets better with time. Another thing about their selection – it seems they keep the best pieces to sell on their website, which is a little annoying because you know right off the bat that you probably won’t see anything too exciting if you’re shopping in the store. I only encountered one designer item, a pair of Acne jeans, but they were priced at only $ 10! So if you do come across something good, chances are the prices will be more than reasonable. Grand total for my stash: about $ 145, slightly more than a recent, similarly sized buy at Plato’s Closet. Recommend for selling, but for shopping? Ehh… we’ll see.
