We were in Tahoe for my sister in law’s wedding, and there was a lot of last minute stuff to be done, including printing programs, and the bride fell ill and ended up in the hospital. By the time we figured out what was needed, it was about 5:30PM and we had one day left to get everything done. We called Ken at Pine Tree Printing and he said it would be no problem for us to come print our programs that evening, despite his store closing in a half hour. I promised to be in and out in a flash, but you know how that goes– and he ended up staying until 7PM helping me. Ken(the owner) was above & beyond accomodating. Not only did he stay late, but he couldn’t just print the programs and send me on my way without making sure they were PERFECT. He consulted with me on the design, and printed 3 samples of different papers(free of charge) that I could show the bride. One sample was what the bride picked originally(white…which didn’t look right with everything else once we saw it printed, and then two others Ken expertly matched(he has a real knack for design). The bride, who also has a real knack for design, ended up loving what Ken came up with even better(a soft blue that complemented the other paper goods), and we ended up with a better program than we’d imagined. But Ken would’ve been fine if we’d picked white too– he just aims to please. I was able to email our decision to Ken, who then printed ANDSCORED(a huge help to me since I was going to have to fold a gazillion programs in 4 parts each…) the programs and had them ready to pick up first thing in the morning. He must’ve been up until midnight working on this for us. The whole experience was so different than dealing with a place like Kinko’s that’s so impersonal. His above and beyond service for us truly made a difference. I’d never met Ken before our printing crisis, and I don’t live in Tahoe so maybe I’ll never met him again. But if you do live in/around Tahoe and you need a good printer, Ken is your guy. The level of customer service Pine Tree offers is highly unusual, but incredibly refreshing. Thanks for your help Ken– good luck with the business!
