Nice joint. Not a long wait. Food is, at least, mediocre. I had sandal sashimi dish. They were oversized and farm-raised. I am sushi snob and I like my fishes wild caught. I think Ichi of San Francisco spoiled me.

Another good night at Sushi Pier. They have the best all you can eat sushi! No time limit, and they don’t stuff you with rice. Get there early and sit at the bar if you want the all you can eat sushi, I think it would be too confusing at a table. The appetizers are part of the AYCE deal, love the mussels and the stuffed calamari. The sushi chefs are really fast, and if you are a regular, they remember what you like, and you get it without asking. I mostly have the Nigeri. The hamachi and salmon and the ahi are always really good. Salmon skin hand rolls are perfect. The beer is always cold, and the wait staff is very nice. If you go to Costco in Carson, you can get gift cards. $ 80, for two $ 50 cards. If you get there late, you are going to wait, it is summer in Tahoe!

This is one of my wife’s favorite places to eat. We love going here as a family, the food is always fantastic. It’s usually super busy but it doesn’t even matter because the service is always excellent and the food is always delicious. We love that they have all you can eat. Sometimes the music and environment is a little loud but it doesn’t even matter because everyone is always so nice and friendly. I definitely recommend it here if you’re looking for quality sushi. Even they’re bento boxes are amazing.

With just 6 minutes left of happy hour we prayed for green lights all the way to Kernel and the kind of service you should tip double for! He did not disappoint and we left with smiles and fist bumps promising to stop in next time we are in the hood. Easy promise to keep! If you’re new to town know there are other options for good food but you won’t find us there… Give this place one chance and you’ll be hooked like us!!!

Best teriyaki chicken ever! We are in town for the week and we went for sushi. We went around 530 pm we got a table really fast and our food was ready really quick! The chicken tasted to fresh! Service was great! I would definitely recommend it!

Great find in S. Shore stateline last night and the service was great. The place was very busy around 6:30 but we got lucky at the sushi bar. We’ll go back for the all you-can eat option next time. I’ve had sushi from Tokyo to San Franciso and the quality of the food here was very good.

AWESOME sushi spot. We visited Sushi Pier during our recent Tahoe trip. My mom found it online so we decided to try it out. Glad we did. We did AYCE dinner and caught happy hour. Sushi was fresh, delicious and the service was excellent. The Titan roll was our favorite

If they had stinky rolls it would be perfect. Good price, quick service, good tasting!

How can a sushi place mess up rice? Possibly the worst sushi place ever. Rice was hard and under-cooked. Sushi pieces were incredibly bad. I hope this place shuts down.

I’ve known of this Tahoe location of Sushi Pier for a long time, I just never came in here as I normally do AYCE sushi in Reno and Sushi Pier wasn’t on the top of my list of sushi in Reno. But I was up here at the Lake the other week and had just finished an appointment and my BF picked me up. Wanting lunch, I suggested this Sushi Pier location right here in Stateline on the NV side just past the casinos. Walking in there were plenty of seats at the bar. ALWAYS, sit at the bar for the best service and no order mix ups. That’s true with any sushi place. Looking over the menu, all the usual sushi suspects are present though I did notice Stripped Bass as a fish offering. Lunch is $ 20.95, but if you’re a local it’s $ 3.00 off. Good to keep the locals happy! We start with orders of albacore, hamachi, maguro, and unagi traditional nigiri style. The chef seemed pretty good with the knife and had out platter presented to us. Wow, those are some big cuts of fish and the rice is not a huge loaf either. Pieces were cut properly and a good thickness. The quality was on par with most Reno sushi places, most likely sourced from the same vendors. The rice was properly cooked and seasoned as well. The chef was friendly and polite and kept busy with the table orders, but we were always able to put in whatever we wanted. More nigiri of Ikura, upside down shrimp tempura style and the Donald and Micky creations. For a change I had a salmon skin roll … that was a pretty good one here! We filled up on all our usual nigiri and the one roll and skipped dessert. $ 17.95 local pricing was a deal I though, especially up at the Lake here. Really different crowd here than in Reno, lots of California tourists and a mix of locals. The California customers order more nigiri and less fried rolls than the NV customers I was told by a chef that’s worked in NV. Whatever, it was a pleasant experience and I’d stop in again if I was at the Lake. I say the best sushi deal up here at the Lake for the quality and price as there’s a higher end sushi place just up the road from here where you spend a lot more and no AYCE. But at least you have the choice. This place gets super crowded I’m told on weekends and in the mid summer with all the tourists, so there’s a long wait sometimes.

Poor service, worse seafood. Our waiter took the liberty of ordering us sushi we didn’t ask for. He literally just started bringing us food we didn’t order. Of course, everything was covered in rice, deep fried, and smothered in sauce I’ve worked in seafood for years and would never have gone if it wasn’t for a friend’s birthday. This bastardization of Japanese cuisine is abysmal and definitely not what Giro dreams of. Get sushi when you’re on the coast and avoid this place if you value quality

Well, Customer service does not exist here ATALL. A server came up and asked«how many people? I said 2, please; Name?» I was like Wt. You can’t even ask my name in proper way? After asking my name he just walked away… Okay, what am I supposed to do? Wait for you to come back to take us to the table? How long is the wait? Should I just standing by the door or I go outside to wait or just find a chair somewhere to sit down? There were two empty tables and only us waiting except a lady with her son were waiting to sit on the bar. At least just sit us down or tell us you will be with us very shortly. I meant I never tried food here. I don’t know how good it is, is this worth a wait? I’m sorry but the way you are treating your customers even before they sit on the table; I don’t think it is worth my money or my time.

Good sushi. We skipped the AYE because we figured the 3 — 4 rolls we would eat would be cheaper. And we were right. :). Place was busy and Sushi chef kept up with the pace. Liked the 24oz Sapporo for $ 6. Loved the Upside Down Shrimp. Yum! Only issue: watched the female server, long hair down, scratch her head several times while delivering food. Yuck. Isn’t it a health code violation to have hair down anyway??? Thankful she didn’t serve us. :-/

Wow… I did not know bad sushi until I came here. Came here for AYCE for $ 20 lunch menu. Ordered the raw quail egg shooters and some sushi rolls. The Smitty roll tasted good, but was falling apart as I ate it. The Alaskan roll was bland. The Rainbow roll was too salty. The Mickey and Donald sushi was passable. Our waitress was friendly and did a good job explaining how to order from the AYCE menu. However, she forgot to bring our miso soup and desserts even after prompting(in her defense, she was about to get off shift). I’m not sure if it was the raw quail eggs or the sushi rolls, but I ended up having to use the restroom twice. They say you don’t know what’s good until you’ve tasted the bad. Case in point.

My son and his wife recommended Sushi Pier and I’m glad we went. We were a party of six with a toddler made seven, service was good, they accommodated all of our needs including the toddlers(LOL). Sushi was good and the place was busy, our server Brandon was courteous and tried to get everything out as soon as it was made. It was a relaxed atmosphere and family friendly. Thank you Sushi Pier!

This place met my expectations. Basically everything on the menu was AYCE ranging from their special rolls, appetizers, hand rolls, etc. This place was amazing. Try everything out especially their mussels, miso soup, and their deep fried squid balls. It was so good that I had 2 orders of each. They’re pretty generous with their portion size too. For a sushi place in Lake Tahoe this exceeded my expectations. Wished this place replaced kenzo back home. If I’m ever back in lake Tahoe would revisit. Would recommend sitting at the bar since you can tell the chef directly what you want.

Usually I love AYCE sushi places(Ex: Fuji in Davis & Mizu in Sac). Of course, there’s always the understanding that you’re sacrificing quality for quantity, which is fine as long as the fish is average. But wowwww, the quality of this fish is way below average. Problem #1: We had to wait an hour. #2: Some of my sashimi was still frozen. I bit into it and the middle was icy and hard. #3: Ridiculously uneven cutting of the fish. Some pieces were ¼″ thick, some went from thick to thin, and some came in random shapes. On the upside, the service was very nice. Also, the beer was cheap. Unfortunately, would not recommend. P. S. The salad dressing tasted like pure mayonnaise.

This place is absolutely amazing!!! Hands down the best all you can eat sushi place I’ve ever been to at a reasonable price(albeit more expensive than normal at 26.99 but it’s amazing what you get). They don’t cheap out and give you lots of rice and their quality is amazing. Freshness in every bite. The AYCE is nigiri and a lot of rolls– there is something for everyone. The raw options are my favorite and I think it was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had too. Don’t miss out on the BBQ tuna anything and raw scallops, trust me you won’t be disappointed. Everything is made fresh to order and the service is really nice especially if you sit at the bar and place your order directly with the person who makes your food! Lots of parking outside and it’s really close to many attractions in the area.

My group and I arrived for Unilocal’s Lake Tahoe Getaway and since we we’re famished, we decided to go get some sushi. Parking went smoothly as there was a lot of space for us. After being seated, we were informed that there was an All-You-Can-Eat option for lunch which was significantly cheaper than the dinner. Two sushi rolls + an appetizer easily added up to close to the price of the All-You-Can-Eat lunch. For the first round, I got two rolls and an appetizer. I remember the Rainbow Roll being my favorite. I love dipping my sushi in the soy sauce with wasabi so I definitely recommend doing that. My favorite appetizers were the mussels! They came out in 6 and it was absolutely tasty. This place would’ve been a 5 star for me but the factor that lowered it down was the poor customer service. During the first round, they were on point but as we ordered more, they forgot about us numerous times. They forgot our orders and they forgot our checks. Alas, we were out after more than two hours in this restaurant. I would definitely come back here and bring my friends, but they need to vastly improve on their customer service and prepare themselves from the pace of happy hour.

AYCE is $ 20 for lunch and WELLWORTHIT. Sure, there will be some items that smell questionable, like the raw scallops during my visit, but it’s definitely better than average AYCE sushi. Our large group went 20 minutes before opening which isn’t really necessary but I would at least get here within 10 minutes of opening. The restaurant filled up quick. If you’re into quail eggs, you’re in luck here. While other AYCE places limit the number of these you can have, Sushi Pier doesn’t. We ordered a lot during each round but it does take a while for the food to come out. I’m sure this is part of their strategy to fill you up. Everything comes with rice so don’t expect any sashimi.
