We stopped at Thai One On for lunch. It difficult to judge it’s quality from Unilocal reviews. Most reviews rated this restaurant high but comments were average or lower. We had tom yum kung soup, opps fried rice and panang curry. The soup was OK but only luke-warm. The panang curry was not very spicy and the waitress got the order wrong with chicken instead of beef. We didn’t tell them so we don’t know how they would have remedied the problem. But the fried rice was exceptional. Overall this place was far below normal Thai standards.

The restaurant was closed when we first drove up and the lady that worked there told us to come back at 5. We did just that because we were dead set on trying this cleverly named restaurant. We ended up waiting outside until they opened at around 5:30. We ordered take out and waited in the car with our dog. They ended up bringing the order out to the car and the lady chased us down to give us a free box of rice for our trouble. The point of this story is that they had great customer service even though we had to go through the inconvenience of waiting. The food was great too! I highly recommend the pad thai and the chicken curry. So yummy!

I am a returned customer for two year. Good food, especially the egg roll and the chicken pad-Thai.

We are here 14 hungry people. They were able to set the tables under 5mins. The ambience was okay ! Talking about food it was good. But the soup was okay .! Customer service was slow !! Overall above average when you hungry :;)

boy, I was so glad to try this place out. The price for entrée is a bit above average but the food is amazing. I tried the lunch special and got two entrees to go. The flavor is definitely tasted healthier and the vegetables were fresh. This is be my new place in town. Yum yum

Actually having BEENTOTHAILAND, unlike some other people who leave reviews and don’t actually know, this food is as close to authentic Thai food as I’ve ever been in the US. Small business, the owner is amazing, and they will actually go to Thailand to make sure they are up to date on the current Thai food trends. The pad Thai and yellow curry are to die for, as well as the mango sticky rice, which is seasonal because their food is fresh. Love Thai one on, the only Thai food in the US we really love!

I wasn’t expecting to find a decent Thai place in Tahoe but Thai One On is pretty darn good! My friends and I were really hungry for dinner but didn’t want to go down to the main strip(where Heavenly is) to grab something to eat. Lo and behold, this little gem was about 0.2 miles away from our cabin so we decided to stop by! Thai One On is not too far from the main strip and is located in a cozy, little plaza away from all the hustle and bustle. The interior was very spacious and easily accommodated our party of 9. We were served the most refreshing water ever(with a hint of lemon and orange) but maybe that’s because we just came back from snowboarding and were dehydrated(lol). The menu had the typical Thai dishes with a few special items I’ve never seen before(Oops fried rice and spicy basil duck yummm…). I ordered the crab fried rice which was a bit pricey in my opinion($ 15) but good none the less. The fried rice was big in portion(can feed 2 easily) and most importantly, came with with real crab(believe it or not, some places serve imitation crab wow.). Some of my friends ordered the Tom Ga and yellow curry and claimed that it was mostly coconut milk and lacked spices. They also claimed that the Thai Iced Tea was mostly creamer and not enough Thai tea. My favorite dish here was probably the house special Spicy Basil Duck which came with nice slices of duck breast, bell peppers, basil and Thai chilies. Super flavorful, delicious and worth the price! But overall, this place hit the spot after a long day of snowboarding. The portions here are pretty big and the food is decent here. Like I said, I was not expecting to find a good Thai place in Tahoe but Thai One On impressed me! If you’re craving Thai, this is the place to be!

This place is great the food is bomb and the service even better. It is one of the best thai places is all of Tahoe area. We eat here every time we come to tahoe and it never gets bad. I love the homey feel it has. I would reccomend the green cury, pad thai as well as any other item on the menu. It taste good and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. Great place to eat.

Went there tonight because the orchids where we usually go had a wait and there was a sign on the door: «cash only and no heat sorry»…found this sign quite ridiculous and went to thai one one and did not regret it. Had the butterfly shrimp for an appetizer and it was pretty good. Fried, but not heavy at all. Then we tried the pumpkin curry and the green curry and they were both pretty tasty… reasonable prices too… will go back…

Just discovered this place in south lake. Great thai food nice portions served n a chalet. Very nice clean fast friendly service with a thai smile. For being off the beaten path of a metropolis I would give it 5 stars but I hold the 5 for exceptional taste and ambiance. Thus place is just down Khao San road good

Just recently remodeled with nice furnishing, more up to date bathrooms, and clean surroundings. The food is consistent, authentic with generous portions. The Green Curry is fantastic along with the Pad Thai, and Drunkin Noodles. The lunch special is by far the best in the area. Your meal is accompanied by a salad or soup. The staff/owner is very nice! We are always happy with Thai One On!

A friend and I recently stopped by for dinner and the service was SO friendly. We shared a few dishes. The hangover flat noodles stirfried with tofu and veggies was outstanding. The pumpkin curry with veggies over rice was also absolutely delicious and had a thick, rich peanut and coconut sauce. The pad see ew with tofu and veggies wasn’t bad, but was pretty mediocre in comparison to the other two. I would definitely go again.

This is one of my favorite spots to pick up food. It’s good quality /tasty food. Only gripe with the place is they don’t include rice when you order one of the +$ 11 curries from the main menu. They can at least include rice if you ask for it instead of charging another $ 1 for it. Staff is always friendly and quick to serve me up when I come in. I’d check it out if you have a taste for Thai food. only giving it –1 star because of the extra charge on the rice. C’mon now!

So I must admit when we first arrived I was skeptical on how they would be. A table that was already seated wanted to order more spring rolls, and the server said they got the last order. How on earth does a Thai restaurant run out of one of the most ordered appetizers? Well, it became apparent as I imagine they’re that good that tables probably put in multiple orders. We will have to try it next time we visit. A small quaint restaurant 2 servers. Service seemed a little slow but it’s a small operation which the food for us was well worth the wait. Loved that we were able to try multiple things on the menu because we had a few members in our party to share family style… we ordered: Chicken Satay Papaya Salad Pad tok(yummy seafood sour soup– I only had the broth, but everyone in our party loved the seafood in it) Panang beef(as good as all the other places we’ve had it at) Shrimp Pad Thai. Yummy too Crab Fried Rice-excellent flavor Spicy Eggplant with Tofu. So so good! Chicken Pumpkin Curry– delicious! Loved all the food! We shall return!!!

We have been twice now since it has been under new ownership and both times have been great. The service is a little on the slow side, but the prices are great and the food even better. We have had the Hangover Noodles, Oops Fried Rice, Duck Curry, Spicy Basil Duck, and the Thai One On Chicken, all have been great! Corakage fee only $ 5 if you want to bring your own bottle.

I have to start this review by saying I didn’t eat much here, so this review isn’t going to be very helpful if your looking for tips on their food choices. Today I was craving some mango and sweet rice dessert so I decided to swing by this place on my way to work. I walked in and one of the employees(a man) was sitting at one of the tables watching a show/movie on his I-Pad. He didn’t greet me or anything, but a lovely woman hurried out of the back to seat me and hand me a menu. I gave her my order of the dessert… this is where things just went down hill… FAST! She begins to microwave my food right in front of me, im not kidding. they have a microwave in the same room that customers eat. I almost walked out at that point. Don’t get me wrong, I know restaurants do this, but it really took away from the«treating myself and going out to eat» feeling I enjoy. To make matters worse, I felt I had to give the employee watching the IPad a dirty look so he would get the hint that watching a movie in the dining area was a bit inappropriate. Instead of turning the IPad off, he just got up and moved next to the microwave and stood there watching his loud show/movie. There was no other noise in the restaurant except the microwave and his IPad. I kinda felt like I was disturbing them. Onto the food. When the dessert came to the table, I was excited to dive in. I LOVE mango and sticky sweet rice. I have had it many time and know how much I enjoy it. The mango was really good and fresh, although they did microwave the mango, something I hadn’t had before(the mango is usually served cool with the rice being warm/hot). The rice was terrible… TERRIBLE! It was cooked perfect, but the flavor was so off and weird. It had a strong vinegar flavor with an overpowering amount of salt added to it. It had only the slightest amount of sweetness to it. If you have had this dish before, you know that the rice is supposed to be sweet… not salty vinager. Overall I have no disire to come back. The woman employee was pleasant and did a good job, but the man that worked there and the food being prepared in the micorwave right in front of me just killed it. I hate giving a local buisness a bad review, but I did not enjoy my visit.
