Went here for a dinner before a birthday celebration. The food was ok. The staff was very courteous and attentive. The décor was nice. I had the salmon and I felt the wine reduction used wasn’t as reduced as it should be, therefore it tasted muttled. My husband had a pasta and it ok, but nothing to write home about. The appetizers were very good though– calamari and some kind of burrata dish. We will give it another shot, just to try something different.

My husband booked Mario’s for my sprinkle and I was pleasantly surprised. The service and food was great. They didn’t rush us out and we’re really pleasant. I look forward to going back.

Excellent service. Tasty bread with unique flavors. Appetizers very well prepared. Grilled calamari was tender. Sauce that the muscles came in was superb. Wine choices reasonably priced. Pasta dishes perfect. Parking was easy. Mario’s is my new fav.

Went here on Valentine’s Day for the prix fixe. Such tasty food; waiter was very kind and accommodating for my dietary needs(no gluten, no dairy) and the pork scallopini I had was off the charts. Modern atmosphere, lovely, chic date spot. I’d definitely come back.

We walked in and were greeted warmly. We sat down and were immediately handed menus. I never ate here or heard anything about this place so I was a little reluctant. We skipped appetizers because we had a late lunch earlier. I ordered the tuna steak and my wife had the fillet mignon. The the food came out and the presentation looked really good. Somewhere between the first two bites, I realized that this tuna steak was amazing. Before I could tell my wife how good my food was, she was telling me how delicious the fillet was. We split a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The décor could be a little more romantic. Maybe some candles or cozier tables. But otherwise, excellent food!!!

I was total unimpressed with my dining experience here on a Sat night and it was expensive . Restaurant was busy as it should be on a Sat night however had to wait 15 min to be seated for our reservations that were at 8. It was excited to order the eggplant appetizer however it was not freshly made and the cheese was like rubber after being heated up most likely in a microwave. Are you kidding. For my main course I had the pasta with shrimp, clams and mussels. Who cuts up shrimp for this dish to make it look like more it was a total ripoff for the money. Staten Island has a million Italian restaurants this place is an insult but the unwashed will continue to eat here because they don’t know any better. The staff was also texting during diner real class act.

As I prepare my sauce for my Thursday pasta night I am reminded of the less than stellar experience we had last Sunday night. While honestly the food was not bad the service was atrocious and no one seemed to care. If the restaurant was crowded perhaps there may be some room for leeway but there were only 2 tables filled that night. I wanted to support but time to move on!

As an event planner and a diner, I can honestly say that Mario’s is my favorite restaurant on the island. No need to travel to Manhattan with a gem like this right here. My first experience was with about 20 people for a Christening. They let us custom build our appetizers and dinner on the spot(which is difficult with a full restaurant!) and it might have been the best meal I ever had. The Osso Bucco was so tender and delicious, it was falling off the bone! Anything ‘butternut squash’ is a must. Since then, I have attended large and small dinners and a Bridal Shower. Service is top notch, the food is incredible and plentiful, and the most shocking(for a good reason”) part is that its not pricey. Even if you look at the drink list. Another reason it is set apart: The ‘party menu’ was just as delicious as the dinner menu. You would think that feeding 70 women would be different, but the truth is that it’s the same quality and same service. HIGHLY recommend Mario’s.

Mario’s never disappoints, At our latest visit Stef & I tried the Baked Clams & Shrimp Charcuterie Board & Meatballs all were excellent appetizers. However, if truth be told it would have been nice if the Backed Clams were a little bigger in size. For entrees we enjoyed The Agnoloti Ravioli, which was delicate little pasta purses filled with Chestnut purée fresh prosciutto in a currant butter sauce. & a delicious Skirt Steak which was cooked a nice med-rare. We don’t often have dessert But we finished off our meal w/a rich chocolate cake and cappuccino & espresso with sambuca. Dana our hostess was very accommodating & friendly despite a full house. We look forward to our next dinner there.

Was here on Friday night for my friends birthday. There was 6 of us. We were all treated very well. Bartender was extremely helpful and made a yummy cucumber martini. Everything we ordered was very good. Only thing I would say is the portions(appetizer portions) were very small. We ordered 7 appetizers for 6 people and thought we over ordered but it turned out to be the perfect amount given the size. Everything was very tasty. I will be back.

Came here recently for a family birthday dinner. The food was quite good, and the décor very tastefully done. The meatball appetizer was delicious… but would have been better if not served cold. All of the dishes were tasty. Typically when an entrée is served swimming in a sauce, as was the case with the filet mignon entrée that I ordered, it’s not a good sign… but I’ve got to say that it was one of the tastiest sauces that I’ve ever had. The meat was cooked absolutely perfectly. The waiter was a but surly, and did not react well to some cookies that someone from our party brought… but overall a very positive dining experience.

I’ve been to Mario’s a dozen or more times since they opened a few months ago. High quality food, excellent service, etc. Everything from lunch(try the gorgonzola topped angus burger) to dinner(I love the filet mignon medallion tips)…, and leave room for dessert(zeppoles in a brown paper bag). You can’t go wrong… everything is top-notch!

Wow! The specialty cocktails were delicious! I enjoyed the Cosmo potion, hints of grapefruit, yum! Watermelon sangria was light and refreshing. Appetizers were small portions but flavorful. We had baked clams and shrimp, Caesar salad, grilled octopus and zucchini flowers as appetizers. The zucchini flowers were perfect paired with fig and cherry. Pasta is on point, I had the short ribbon, minced swordfish, shrimp, fresh tomato, arugula and toasted almonds-very well balanced dish. I tasted the fettuccini, with zucchini flowers and fava beans-also good. Skirt steak was cooked to perfection in a nice soy/wine sauce. Desert– tartufo ice cream with espresso, mini canolis with pistachio. Overall, good food, good service, good experience. Chef was attentive and was visible most the night.

Had an excellent lunch here and will definitely be coming back for dinner. My wife and I split a Gluten-Free Lombardo Pie, and I can definitely say that it was the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever tasted. All of the ingredients were high quality and it was seasoned to perfection. The crust was light and airy and you wouldn’t know it was Gluten-Free. We also had the La Collina Salad with grilled chicken. The ingredients again were fresh and high quality. The chicken was grilled perfectly with a nice sear on the outside but juicy and moist on the inside. Our daughter had a nice dish of Penne Alla Vodka, which was also perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and attentive, but not annoyingly so. Water was refilled without asking. No hard sell on any extras like drinks or deserts. Ample parking above and below which made us think it would be a great place for a catered affair. Just a very nice experience. We felt price for the three of us was reasonable for the quality of food and atmosphere. 3 people came to $ 57.00 with the tip(did not have alcohol or desert). Looking forward to trying dinner real soon.

Very pleasant surprise! The food was delicious, the portions were very generous. The service was polite and efficient. My husband had the grilled octopus appetizer I had the Kale salad. The pasta is homemade and cooked to perfection! We would give it more stars if we could!

I was so excited to come to Mario’s for dinner. He did such a wonderful job with his new restaurant and the food was incredible as always. I loved all the décor and small touches throughout the restaurant. For a Friday night it was busy but not too loud. Our service was great from the hostess to the bartender and our server. We were a party of 5 so we decided to get a bunch of apps for the table. We ordered the Fried Pizzette, garden burrata, shrimp, artichoke wrapped in prosciutto, lobster mac and scallops. The lobster Mac, artichokes and scallops were my favorites but everything was delicious overall. For dinner, I got the beef barola(short ribs) it was cooked perfectly lots of flavor. The rest of the table got the rack of lamb, branzino and osso buco. I tried the lamb I’ll definitely be getting that next time– so good! Everyone cleared their plate. We were pretty stuffed but obviously had to get dessert. So again, we got a few things for the table. Tiramisu, Napolean, canoli and tartufo. Pretty sure I left 10lbs heavier but totally worth it. Can’t wait to come back!

Valet parking! Awesome way to start a meal. Friendly staff, Head Chef checked on our party and the food was excellent. Went for Mother’s Day menu and can’t wait to try everything else on the next visit.

Meh is the right word… Nothing to write home about. Drinks are over priced for Staten Island, Martini and a coke $ 18.00. We were a party of 6 and were expecting a lot better. The Lady’s at the hostess station were very welcoming, highlight of the evening. The waiter was over the top annoying and lacking knowledge, if he said let me ask chef Mario one more time I was gonna tell him to just have the Chef come out. We shared the Apps. Calamari, meatballs, Fried Pizzette and Grilled octopus. Calamari was OK, Meatballs were Ok, Pizzette was very good and the Grilled Octopus was very good. My wife had the Filetto Di Pomodoro, she asked if they could leave out the prosciutto, the waiter said we will try. So i asked, TRY? He said let me go ask Chef Mario, 5 minutes later he returned and said no they couldn’t, i said now that’s the right answer, not we will try. She got it anyway and it was really under-whelming. Pasta was undercooked… I had the Linguine Frutta DiMare, something i get at all Italian restaurants and this i would rate a 2 out of 5 again, very under-whelming. other orders were Skirt steak… Very good Short Ribs– Very Good Osso Buco — Good Chops — over cooked Doubt I will be back too many other very good Italian restaurants on Staten Island,

Great food, however feel like the staff is still trying to get a proper synergy. Would defiantly come back. Had the baked clams and shrimp, lobster Mac and cheese, fried chips and skirt steak. All was great and came in a timely fashion.
