Walked in and got our table for two. Ten minutes later a table of 10 was seated next to us. And in typical fashion that’s makes me hate most of the restaurants on this island, these people were the most loud, arrogant, ear piercing, disrupting people you would ever want to sit next to. I asked the hostess for help and she was less than accommodating. So we quickly got the bill and left before our entrees came out. The situation was classless.

We went for lunch. I ordered ‘Phil’s Beef Wellington’. Takes about 25 minutes to prepare, It was well worth the wait. Pastry wrapped Filet Mignon, Mushroom Duxelles, Sauteed Spinach, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, and a Brandy Cream Sauce. The Pastry Crust was crisp, the quality Filet was cooked precisely as ordered-medium rare, and with the Mushroom Duxelles the flavors blended together perfectly to make one of best servings of Beet Wellington I’ve found anywhere. My wife ordered the Mushroom Pappardelle with Shrimp, Mushrooms, Sun-Dried Tomato, and a Brandy Cream Sauce. She loved it. Again, a perfect blend of ingredients where each ingredient contributes to make a delicious and satisfying dish. For dessert we shared the Beignets and Chocolate Dream Cake. The Beignets were presented with 3 different toppings from which you could pick your favorite. The Chocolate Dream Cake literally melted in your mouth with a delicate and delicious chocolate flavor. Both desserts were superb. The setting was relaxing with light background music. The service was excellent. Tom our server was attentive, accommodating, and really contributed to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Excellent in all aspects. We will be back soon.

At max had the halibut in a port wine reduction. Wow 5 – 6 star NYC meal. So impressed one of the best meals of the island good job Guys. Service and staff are the most amazing people ever. Thank you! Finally a NYC caliber joint in the island. Hey by the way drinks are on the money good job John! What a bartender should be take notes!!!

Have been going here for years. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here or sent anything back. The staff makes you feel so comfortable and the décor makes you feel just as comfortable. From the oysters to pasta’s, this is my family and I’s «go to» restaurant. I’m a big Esca fan!!!

Mixed Crowd Casual Extra Special people. Music Mix is great. You may want to enjoy dinner and then celebrate the evening with dance. The cocktails are strong soooo One and Done is the way to go. Cheers!

This had to be one of the worst places ever. The fried calamari was salty and had a bad fish taste, the crispy spring rolls had no crab meat and tasted like fake Chinese food. For dinner I order the tortellini carbonara and it tasted like it was made a week ago and left out. I don’t think I could go back and eat in there if someone payed me to.

2nd time here… great vibes and great company. The vibe is always positive here and the dj’s keep the party rock in’. Absolutely love the chocolate Martini’s her and the customer service is awesome… last but not least the owner is on the dance floor as I type and he has major movesssss… dope!!!

I wanted to, love this restaurant but it was soooo noisy I couldn’t even think. The party room is sectioned off by a thin curtain and the bar was so busy I couldn’t hear the person next to me. The food was good but I left with a headache. It was pricey $ 75. A person which was fine for good food and fabulous deserts but it was a terrible dining experience. If they put up a wall or a noise barier curtain, We may think of going back.

Love love love this restaurant. Their goat cheese salad is enough to have me going back! I’m not even kidding. My family has had many parties here. They have all been phenomenal and the staff is great. I love Max and he really puts a nice meal out every time. My husband’s favorite is the Chilean sea bass. I love the shrimp any way he prepares it. You HAVE to try the flour less chocolate cake!

Don’t skip the salad! Max’s Es-Ca makes a phenomenal Mesclun Salad along with a very tasty Rigatoni Mezzi Pomodoro pasta. The atmosphere is very trendy.

The restaurant was very nice and bar tender was super nice… But here’s the downside: the sauce for the calamari was bland, bland, bland. I asked for no mushrooms and got double mushrooms with my rigatoni. There was also oil all over the dish-that’s all you tasted.

Catching up on some reviews but I was at Max’s Es-Ca about a month and a half ago. The food was pretty good. Cold seafood platter tasted fresh and definitely enjoyed it. Braised beef short ribs were probably one of the better that I have had in some time. Unfortunately, I could be speaking out of UNIMAGINABLEHUNGER. It was obvious from the moment we walked in that they were seriously understaffed. I believe they had some function curtained off next to the main restaurant. But, when we were seated there was not one single server in the entire dining room with a packed house. Not sure if it was a scheduling thing or just not being able to handle the rush but man we waited FOREVER. I;m almost inclined to answer«Not Sure» under«Waiter Service» below the review lol. Could have been a fluke, and I would gladly change my review if it is. Food may have been good enough to make the second effort, but waiting as long as we did with very little attention given definitely took away from the food experience for sure. Let’s see what happens next time!

Visiting the Staton Island are for work, I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Max and had the privilege of tasting some of the best Italian food and house made deserts I have ever had! The bar is really nice too, the Sangria is delicious and the staff is super friendly and hospitable. I honestly do not understand the 1 and 2 star reviews, makes no sense whatsoever!?? Bottom line: If you’re looking for a place to grab a Delicious Italian meal that feels like a warm hug, along side some great drinks in a beautiful ambiance, Max’s Es-Ca is the place to be!

Another frequently visited spot when I’m in New York. Fantastic service, extremely friendly. Our food is always very quick and always piping hot. The Montréal Crusted New York Strip is one of the best steaks I’ve had outside of fancy steakhouses. Finish with the vignettes if you saved room for a dessert. Can get a little loud, as guests tend to speak louder and louder as the place fills out, and it can feel a little cramped, but the food and service are worth coming for every time.

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely but not stuffy atmosphere. The food is just well done. Anything you have will not disappoint. I’m a pasta girl myself and it’s really made with care. Service is excellent. Vey friendly staff. I would love to have my next party here. Parking is a little tricky with the small lot, but they do have valet. Enjoy!
