Can it be called fine dining if it’s hit or miss? The soup was great! The dried up over cooked potatoes in my main were disgusting. I tried to eat them but they were too tough to chew. No restaurant of integrity would allow food like that to go out. Even bad restaurants do not serve food prepared like that. At a fine dining restaurant the plate should have gone back. I don’t like to waste food so I picked the potatoes out. I am sending this poor review back instead. The staff were all polite and professional EXCEPT the server who provided an uncomfortable experience

Excellent little place. Courteous and attentive staff. I had the avocado toast and elk tenderloin. Both were superb. Make you you plan at least one meal here while you’re in town.

We made a reservation for Sunday Date Night due to the positive reviews everywhere about Café Diva. After our dining experience we agree that Café Diva is a must when coming to Steamboat. Both appetizers we ordered our highly recommended. The avocado toast and deviled egg was very good. Even though the toast was tasty the deviled egg was the key. The problem is you only get one egg. The pork belly dumplings with sesame sauce were the best. A definite must when ordering an appetizer. For dinner we ordered the herb chicken and beef tenderloin. The chicken was very good but the beef tenderloin is where to go. The crispness of the tenderloin, the sauce, green beans and almonds, and mashed potatoes were all amazing. For dessert we ordered the carrot cake ice cream sandwiches. This was the least favorite part of our meal. The carrot cake was very crunchy and a Grand Marnier sauce was included that was very bitter. We were not a big fan of it. Many tables around us ordered the chocolate cheesecake and were raving about it. The customer service and knowledge of the waitress was very good and helped make our dinner that much more enjoyable.

Excellent restaurant, heavily frequented by locals, busy on an off-season Tuesday. Tuesday’s are apparently«appy hour»(as in appetizer) with excellent value on some great tapas-like dishes. While the crab-tomato bisque was very good as touted, the carrot ginger(with hint of curry and finished with a chile cream) soup was to die for. The prosciutto under shaved kale, Brussels sprouts, dried apricots and sliced reggiano Parmesan salad was large and excellent, I did think a few toasted pine nuts would have perfected it. The veggie samosas, however, were perfect. We did the lighter entrees, diver scallops in a mushroom quinoa dressing with pesto(I thought pesto a little«grassy», Marilyn loved the still crunchy nuttiness, we both loved the quinoa), and I did a piece of cod wrapped in prosciutto over a tremendous sweat pea purée. Darryl, our main server(«everyone on staff is at your service») is apparently famous in Steamboat Springs. Members of both tables near us, all locals who’ve been there many times, told us stories. He paired nice wine(a glass of prosecco to start for me, a Chateauneuf-de-pape to be a red that still worked for our meal, and a pear cognac with the chocolate truffles for dessert) and timed the dishes most expertly. Oh yeah, there was toasted banana gelato in there somewhere…

Absolutely the best restaurant in steamboat. Amazing wine selection. Perfect service. The food is delicious you can tell the chef loves to do it because it’s perfect every time. I always comeback. Great place

This was the perfect meal to celebrate the gold medal NASTAR champion. From our greeting by the hostess of ‘show me those medals!’ to the sweetness of the crème brûlée, the dinner was excellent! Heather provided flawless service, from the sweet squash soup to kale salad and outstanding nut crusted steelhead trout on a bed of wild rice, with kale, mushroom and sweet cherries. Make you reservation early! Truly one of the best meals ever!

We didn’t have reservations because they were booked a couple days out. They recommended coming when they open at 5pm and get a bar seat. We did just that and the food was amazing! Started out with peanut butter and bacon slider, which was outstanding. We had the surf and turf and the beef tenderloin. Highly recommend this place.

Café Diva never fails to delight! Last night was no exception… starting with a glass of champagne and the always appetizing warm ciabatta and olive oil with the wonderful warmed olives with almonds moving into a great carrot, beet and apple slaw salad followed by the Diver scallops. Dinner companions had the duck confit and kale salad to start and both had the gnocchi — and couldn’t be happier! Paul, was as always, spot on with his wine recommendations. All the staff are great — always pleasant, helpful and attentive without hovering. Absolutely my favorite restaurant anywhere!

Sat at bar. Helpful bar tender, good wine list, excellent food. Kitchen was a little noisy but didn’t take away from experience. Will return in the future.

AMAZINGGLUTENFREEOPTIONS. Absolutely amazing food and service! We arrived and our table was not ready — but they went ahead and let us order a bottle of wine for the group while we waited. The food was very very good! Everyone loved the duck tacos and the peanut butter sandwich appetizers were amazing. Soup and salads were also wonderful. The elk was perfect, steak perfect, scallops perfect. All very good. The deserts were so amazing — that we plan to place a to go order on our last night in town to get the deserts again(pistachio gelato and bananas foster). We had two people in our group that were limited by food allergies and they were very accommodating — gluten free cheesecake, ice cream sandwiches:. Beyond amazing!

Love love love! The food was divine! Our waiter was so detailed and presented the menu as if it were a story. We were so lucky to get reservations last minute! Everyone there treated us as if we were their only guests. Start with the butternut squash soup if you can, it’s absolutely amazing!

I came here with a friend when we visited Steamboat and the meal was amazing – and memorable. You’re eating serious Colorado food but with elevated flavors and elegant presentation. The staff was courteous and my friend and I enjoyed every bite. I’d absolutely go back on a return trip to Steamboat. The foodie highlight for sure.

Suggest you get a reservation, we didn’t and we got lucky that the little table by the front door was free. The server could describe everything, she knew what had food allergy potentials and warned that has dairy, this has nuts, etc. they had a lovely wine selection. The food was fabulous, we had the tomato crab bisque and butternut squash soup to start. The vegetarian gnocchi and an amazing salad for dinner, a great tawny port and raspberry sorbet for dessert, fabulous all the way through.

Thank you, Café Diva, for making it possible to relax my brain and not have to think where I’m going to take my wife for a romantic dinner in the ‘Boat. Two hand dunk shot! Food, atmosphere, service, wine list, and staff — perfect. Our waiter, tall guy with a pepper mill jammed into his belt, was the most knowledgeable waiter I have ever been served by. He made it a great experience. The best restaurant in the ‘Boat? Amen. Thank you.

I was told by a friend and local that this was the best restaurant in Steamboat, and we arrived on Sunday night for their date night special. This place is great for a date night: the ambience is great, each course was exceptional, service extremely accommodating and timely… the whole package. Wine menu had a good selection, and we actually ended up unable to finish all of our meal thanks to healthy portions. I highly recommend this restaurant! Ask for Tom to wait on your table!

Yum! This place is so romantic, quaint, and fabulous. The servers are friendly to guests as well as eachother; they work as a team(you can ask anyone passing by for help, and they all come to your table to refill waters, pick up plates, etc.) and know how to give service for this caliber of restaurant. We shared the corn crème brûlée appetizer which was a large portion, I had the falafel tower which was way too much for me to eat but very pretty(the beet hummus was a beautiful color), my other half had the scallops which very yummy and presented beautifully. For dessert we had the S’more which was amazing and a great interpritation of actual campfire S’mores. The Rose wine suggested by our server was great and paired well with our food. They bring out bread as well(which we were unaware of), so you will definitely not leave this place hungry! The restaurant overlooks the resort area, and on the day we went there was a wedding going on in a tent nearby which provided us with music and entertainment(watching drunken wedding guests stroll by). This is a great location for a date night, especially with the beautiful bistro lights on the patio. The one thing that made us giggle was that each course brought to our table was placed on the table followed by a scripted narrative that began with«Tonight chef Kate…» or «Chef Kate did ______» which made Chef Kate seem like the leader of a cult. She is talented though!

Had dinner here couple weeks ago and came with very high expectations. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and immediately seated. Our sever(Tim?) was excellent and a true gentleman. He was knowledgable about their extensive wine list and when it came to food wasn’t shy of offering recommendations. Appetizers that stood out for me were the foi gras, duck confit egg rolls, tomato and crab bisque, and crab cakes. The appetizers were excellent! The mains were a bit of a disappointed though. I had the surf and turf, and though the elk and scallops were cooked to perfection, the salt content was Too much. 2 of my colleagues had sent back their mains on the same account. It’s like the sous chef wanted to give us a sodium attack. However, the desert and service made up for it :). Will definitely come back on my next visit to steamboat.

We were told by no less than 3 separate locals thy Café Diva was hands down their favorite restaurant in Steamboat Springs, and so we had to give it a try! Reservations are a must, but boy was it worth it. I walked in with high expectations given the rave reviews, and suffice to say Café Diva not only met our expectations, it exceeded them with flying colors! Everything we ordered was sublimely done, and there were more than a couple items that were totally unique and also very well done. We had the foie gras crème brûlée, bison steak prepared Southwest style, mushroom fettuccine, and crab and tomato bisque — all very tasty. Even the bread was great! Definitely a must do when in Steamboat.

Wow! We just went to Café Diva for their date night special. I believe it was about $ 28 per person and WELL worth it. We started with warm ciabatta bread with oil, vinegar, and olives. Then appetizers– both the duck confit pizza and the squash cakes(way more decadent than they sound) were incredibly rich and delicious. For entrees we had scallops and mushroom wellington. I cannot rave enough about the mushroom wellington. Perfectly cooked puff pastry and great tasting mushrooms and sauce. Dessert was gingerbread cake with marscapone gelato. Perfect combination of sweet and creamy. While the food was incredible, the service was outstanding. From the moment we walked in, they took our coats and winter wear, seated us promptly, and our server Emily immediately checked in and got us our drinks. Emily continued to be incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the meal and made excellent recommendations. We loved every aspect of our meal at Café Diva and were thoroughly impressed with both the food and service. We will definitely be back, especially for a date night special. Great value for a luxurious meal experience.
