Hotel restaurant to be exact, food is nothing special just as expected. Prices are high due to close proximity of the ski slopes. Do not ask specific food questions, the server will usually give you a blank look. Enjoy…

If I could have given a negative 1 star I would have. We went there on St Patrick’s Day with a large group and looked forward to the Irish cuisine they had advertised in the paper: corned beef and cabbage, Shepards pie etc. We arrived for a 7pm reservation and they were out of all Irish menu choices! Two people got French onion soup which had no cheese and very few onions. Two people had burgers and one steak and all three cooked about opposite from how they ordered them cooked. Two people ordered a vegetable entrée with quinoa pilaf. This turned out to be just plain quinoa with steamed vegetables on top. Bland with no flavor. We had a season pass and asked for our discount. After 10 minutes our waitress(who was actually very good) said she was having trouble ringing up the discount as she needed the manager’s code and the manager had disappeared and could not be found. Really! She said they would get it straightened out and call the next day. No phone call ever came. This is about the 3rd bad experience we have had here. It is a shame. It is a beautiful restaurant right in the Grand. They should be embarrassed. This could be a really nice restaurant. We will never set foot in the doors again and urge others to avoid. There are too many other good choices in Steamboat to waste your time and money at The Cabin. Forgot to mention when my husband called the next day to complain they explained they served all the Irish food at lunch so there was none left for dinner and blamed the incorrect cooking of the burgers and steak on the fact that they had gotten a new grill that day. What a joke

This might be one of the worst meals I have had, especially for the price. The chicken and vegetables were very bland to say the least. I cook better chicken… I am NO cook. The vegetables looked like the cook did not want to throw away vegetables so they just threw the scraps together and called it a «vegetable medley». Server was nice. Do not waste your money, eat somewhere else that has good food and ambiance.

Food wasn’t anything special, but the service was fabulous. Our flight was delayed and we arrived hours later than planned, they took us in with 4 mins to close. They were sweet, force feed is some water, noticing these ladies were a little dehydrated in the altitude. The goat cheese crostini was a surprise, fried cheese balls, they were great just not what we were expecting. Decent calamari, good tomato bisque, salads were a little odd, both dressings had a little extra zing for blue cheese and caesar but we were grateful for the fabulous late night service with a smile.

Expect typical hotel food prices but everything we had was pretty darn delicious! We dined here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout our stay and each time are food was good. The breakfast buffet($ 17 s person) in particular was my favorite, I mean come on, it’s a buffet! This wasn’t one of those sketchy buffets where you have to weed out what’s edible and what’s not, but a quality buffet that I actually wanted to go back for seconds(and 3rds, and 4ths)! Me and ma gurl loved the breakfast taco option and the biscuits and gravy the best! Above everything else, the reason my girlfriend and I kept returning to the Cabin throughtout our stay, was for the exceptional customer service! Staff was attentive, very accommodating, and most importantly, very personable! Side note: They also have great happy hour specials on food and beer from 3 – 6! Like I said, a little on the pricier side but it should be expected being in a mountain town and it being a hotel restaurant, but everything else was on point and left me being one happy camper!

Throughout my weekend at the Steamboat Grand I had multiple interactions with the staff at The Cabin. Every time I found them to be attentive, professional, and kind(I do want to mention that my first stop in was to request a hot water refill for my tea, they were even so kind as to offer me a new tea bag as well as some lemon). I was more than happy to return for some food. I found the atmosphere to be inviting and although there was a television in view from the bar I did not find it distracting. My companion went for a beef burger with onion rings while I went for the Blackened Blue Chicken sandwich. This sandwich was a thing of beauty, complete with cajun seasoning, blue cheese and caramelized onion on a brioche bun. Though the food did take a bit of time to come out I was happy to see they took the time to make the food with great care. The chicken was gently blackened while still retaining quite a bit of juiciness. The cajun seasoning added a slight kick while the blue cheese gave it some complexity I found most enjoyable. Though I did snap a picture I couldn’t seem to capture the amazing essence of this sandwich so I promptly deleted it(my memory serves me well enough). My companion greatly enjoyed his beef burger as well as trying all the available hot sauces(4 to be exact). I was so distracted by the greatness of my own sandwich I honestly don’t recall if I even tried a bit of his. I will most definitely be back for the great service and the great food the next time I am in the area.

We came here for a quick light dinner and sat at the bar. They have some happy hour specials between 3 – 6 I believe but they were a bit disappointing. We got the edamame and giant asparagus from the happy hour specials. The edamame was good but we were a little disappointed in the asparagus for $ 6 — it didn’t feel like we got much of a value there. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese to share. It was good but unfortunately, nothing we had was memorable enough for me to recommend this place or to return. I expect more out of a restaurant located in a nice hotel and more flavor for the price you are paying.

Service was so slow. A dinner that should have lasted an hour took 2.5 hours because it was 15 – 30 minutes to get anything including drinks. The food was average. Nothing memorable. I wouldn’t come back.

Dropped in without checking Unilocal and it wasn’t good. We are not snobby diners and are rarely this dissatisfied. Appetizers: pretzel(overlooked) with«cheese» sauce(flavorless). Tangerine lemon drop martini(undrinkable). Lobster and Mac, described as «decadent», but was whatever the opposite of decadent is — bizarrely flavorless. Finally, my blackened trout came out so blackened it was burned to the consistency of jerky. Aside from the food, the service was great, and we felt bad for the waiter.

Game day food was awesome! BBQ rib sliders, and fish Tacos were both tasty and affordable. Not resort prices either. Highly recommend this place. We were enjoying a fall day here and wanted to eat where we were staying. It was awedome!

Really did not like this place. Food was just ok and I would not go back for it. The worst part was the waitress. She seemed like she did not want to be there and had a piss poor attitude all night. The final straw was when we ordered the kids pasta but asked for butter instead of marinara somehow that got us an extra $ 8 charge. We had to order it twice because the portion of $ 10 kid pasta was pretty much two bites worth. When I asked her what that extra $ 16 on our bill was she got mad and said it was for the butter.? Seriously. Then she snapped the bill out of my hand and said begrudgingly that she would take it off the bill. With a real crappy attitude. Odd thing to do right as I’m determining the tip. They need to get this place together. There is plenty of great places to eat in steamboat and this is not one of them

Love the décor of this place, aspen trees. Ver nice atmosphere. We had a tasty steak dinner there for our anniversary. The waitress was attentive but not overbearing. We got a discount on our dinner. Not inexpensive. Happy hour is a good deal.

My family went here for my sister’s birthday. They gave her a free dessert and the menu had a lot of local ingredients. Didn’t really like that we were the only ones there. The food was decent. Not worth the price we paid, but decent.

Everything we ordered was wonderful! The staff was so friendly too! I had the lobster mac and cheese and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had. It’s a bit pricey, but we all felt it was well worth it. The olive oil that comes with the bread before the meal is so good too!

Really enjoyed the happy hour deals this season. Daily selections of half price aps and beers. Great staff and lots of TV’s for sports. No clue of it continues after the ski season but if it does, stop by.

Nice greeting at the front door of the Steamboat Grand Hotel and at the restaurant despite no reservation around 8p on a Friday night in March. I really like the Aspen trees in the dining room(they’re not real though). Nice wine selection & food was good. In the mood for desert, highly recommend going for the banana chocolate bread pudding.

Dined at The Cabin for a large group dinner and it was really good. If you have a large group, I would definately consider The Cabin.

Years ago, the cabin was a fine dining experience. But the Grand hotel decided to try to turn it into a one-size-fits all, and now it’s just horrible. It’s such a lovely space, it’s a shame that the food is inedible. Maybe they’ll realize they’ve made a terrible mistake … but for now, do your taste-buds and stomach a favor and eat elsewhere.

Great food(vegetarian options), good service, cozy environment. Bad news: no windows and no taste of the outdoors. We went during summer, and it felt a bit claustrophobic with such a beautiful Steamboat evening.

Last week, our group of 14 visited this restaurant, located in The Steamboat Grand hotel. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted a reasonably-priced, yet elegant meal. It was a perfect fit! It was quiet, as it was a Monday night, but I understand that reservations are a good idea on weekends. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary valet and the attentiveness of the hostess and waite staff. Our large table was set up quickly and we were seated right away. They even offered my son a blanket to wrap around himself as he was a bit chilly. Our group ordered items ranging from the specialty Lobster Mac-n-Cheese(amazing!) to Veal Steak, Bison Burgers and Fish Tacos. Everything was excellent… not one complaint and plenty of agreeable comments. Dessert was very good, though not extraordinary. Then, we got the bill… we were shocked! Having not paid too close of attention when looking at the menu, we could not believe how inexpensive the food was, especially at this quality. I thought the waitress had made a mistake with our kids’ meals, but then we were told that kids eat free! I could not believe it. We really enjoyed this restaurant for the relaxing atmosphere, great food and surprisingly affordable prices.
