The 2 stars are for the poor service and not representative of the great food. We have been going to Sterlings since the day it opened. Recommended it to all of our friends(who quickly became regulars as well). We LOVE the food, especially the sushi and steaks and have gone for many special occasions and the girls have had many girl’s nights out there. Recently there has been a few staff changes, primarily in the bar staff and we have been very disappointed. We have started going less often and now it has become very rare that we visit at all. We decided to give them another try tonight, only to be served,(read as ignored), by a very unfriendly bartender(again!). Seemed like she didn’t really want to be there, no less serve us drinks or food. Unfortunately, they are the face of your business! I am very sad to say I would rather go without the amazing food than to be treated in such an unfriendly and disrespected way. It’s really disappointing to see such a decline in service from someplace that used to be such a well respected and fun place to eat, drink and hang out with friends. I’m sure it will be a long time before we return.

Love this place. The brussel sprouts are excellent. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Love love love the food. Amazing. Service for the second time was horrible. We were there from 2pm from 7pm.. Early happy hour was awesome. Early bartender brielle was awesome. However once the second bartender went on it was over. The only time we got a drink was when we flagged her down btwn conversations btwn co-workers. We had an empty drink from 6:15 to 6:30, hoping to catch the end of happy hour. Then i put my card out at 6:35, didn’t get cashed out till 6:45. As a former bartender, it takes a lot to bug me. But this was ridiculous. 30 mins to get a drink or cash out was game over. So disappointed.

Mushroom Appetizer was awesome! Service was good. Been by it at least a hundred times and never went in, my loss.

I love this place! I’ve only been here a few times but each time I come back I’m not disappointed. The atmosphere is great, the happy hour is great, the staff are always working hard, and the food is delicious. Ebi Sushi Roll is my favorite!

I went here for dinner on NYE and they got us in pretty quickly. We did have reservations. We had the meatball lollipops as an appetizer, which were delicious. One of us had salmon, another had a chicken pasta dish, and the remaining two had the New York steak. We all were extremely happy with our food! The New York was tender and SO good! Our server was awesome too. It made for a wonderful night out. They make a mean drink too!

Probably three and a half. Start by saying that I am a west sider, so already started biased. We happened to be at the mall and did not want a chain. Nicely decorated, service was very good and accomodating. Drink and wine list was good, reasonably priced. Actually compared to the Birmingham and Bloomfield places I frequent, the prices were very reasonable, not sure for this food why anyone would say expensive. Bistro salad was good, little too much dressing but thats ok. Lobster Bisque was good but a little over powering with the alcohol and blue cheese, took away from the lobster flavor but not bad. we shared the scallops, they were good, but i agree with others the rice was just white rice, and undercooked so crunchy. Bottom line is It’s good, not great, and I think the five star ratings should be reserved for the best of the best. But if you are in the area and do want Chili’s it’s a very good alternative.

The service was so awful we didn’t even stay to try the food. As soon as we were seated, we were ignored. It took about 15 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. Before the server decided to bring our waters, we all were ready to leave. Before we left we requested to speak to a manager who stated, «I’ll talk to her.» No apology, but we got a generous serving of attitude.

We were disappointed when we went to Sterling Bistro. The food was mediocre and the server didn’t pay much attention to us.

My experience at Sterling’s was not bad, not great, just ok. Considering the prices, I expect more. I had the Chilean Sea Bass, which others have raved about. I thought it was just alright. Atmosphere was better than I thought it would be seeing as it is joined at the hip to the now defunct Cheeseburger in Paradise. Pros: an upscale, family owned(I’m making assumption here) option in a sea of chain restaurants, they participate in Sterlingfest Cons: ambiance was missing something for me

By far, my favorite restaurant in the area. I’ve been coming to Sterlings since they opened, and the Chilean Sea Bass is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Not to mention the firecracker shrimp — excellent appetizer choice. If seafood isn’t your thing, the filet is to die for. I’ve sent dozens of people to this restaurant, and every agrees. Sterlings is simply amazing. Most importantly, the service is impeccable. In the one event(out of more than 30 visits) I had a slight hiccup, the general manager made sure it was resolved. Their commitment to quality and service makes this the best restaurant on this side of town. Do yourself and guests a favor and try it. You will be pleasantly surprised for about the same price you’d pay at most chain restaurants.

Loved it! Had the pear cocktail with the jam that was delicious. The NY strip and lobster scampi were amazing.

I love this place. It can be kind of pricey but we went during happy hour and we loved the prices. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

The service here is great, the atmosphere is very nice(mood lighting and all the good stuff), there is a bar, there is a nice selection of drinks. The food is a bit pricy($ 15 – 30 range). For this price I expected really really good food. I got the lamb burger and it was ok. I liked it but it wasn’t the best burger I had nor was it extremely memorable. However this place was still a good experience. Perfect for a group dinner or a date. It’s not too fancy but I saw a couple of groups dressed up. I suggest coming here and trying something in their seafood or steak selection.

This was our third visit to Sterlings. It was the BEST. My wife was looking for crab cakes, but they were only an appetizer. Damian our waiter said it used to be an entry. One trip to the kitchen and he came back to offer it to us with double the portion, adding rice and veggies. I ordered the Paella. Her crab cakes were quite good, incorporating crab, shrimp, and cod(Fish cakes?). My Paella was very good too, with tons of seafood. I think there was 4 scallops, 4 mussels, 4 – 5 shrimp, some andouille sausage And slivers of checked breast in a tasty sauce. We started with the Dragonfire shrimp which was excellent. A couple glasses of wine and we spent $ 90 for dinner, but the food and service were Great! This is our go to restaurant.

Really quite fantastic. I went with some girls to catch up over drinks and food. I ordered an extra dirty martini and it was perfect. Absolutely great. The waiter came back after i ordered it, very excited to let me know blue cheese olives were available, but i stuck to the basic. I actually ended up having 2. Worth every penny. I ordered the prime rib which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The prime rib was perfect. I order med rare and i like it pink– not bloody. It was. I ate every bit. They lost one star because the potatoes and broccoli werent very warm. Still tastey– but the temp was off. Ill go here again. In fact i nearly did tonight!

We stopped in for a few refreshments after shopping and stumbled on Happy Hour. This made us very happy because they had such fantastic specials! Nearly all drinks were half off… That included all cocktails, beer, and select wines. Martinis were six bucks as well as a nice selection of bar bites and sushi. Awesome! We started with Meatball Lollipops which were delicious! The California Rill was scrumptious and hit the spot. We weren’t too crazy about the Bleu Chips… The sweet balsamic onions overpowered the blue cheese. But we had a bread basket with pomodoro sauce and the bread was so tasty! I could have eaten a whole loaf! My vodka tonic was served in a large, generous glass which I’ve found is getting more scarce these days. I enjoyed it thoroughly! The service was great… Friendly, informative. We were asked right off the bat if we wanted to sit in the bar for happy hour. What a nice gesture. We received everything promptly and our server really took good care of us. Overall, a really nice stop along our busy day!

My wife and have dined here twice. Both experiences were absolutely exceptional. Food quality was perfect. Chef really does a good job of layering flavors and textures to create the perfect profiles. Plate presentations are amongst the best I have ever seen. Service was friendly, informative and pleasant. Every employee seems very happy to be working there. MUST try the Dragonfire Shrimp appetizer. It’s a perfect tempura, with a really cool presentation. This has become our favorite restaurant in the burbs.

Two of us came here for dinner yesterday. We waited at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes before being greeted as servers walked by and looked at us. We were offered a table or a short wait for a booth we opted for the booth. We had a sushi roll as an appetizer which was lackluster. French onion soup shortly followed which was super salty. And for dinner we split the chicken picatta which was horrible the ginger sauce made it inedible. Plus $ 10 glass of wine along with $ 17 for two bacardis and diets. Big thumbs down.

This place is always pretty good and have a great happy hour! Some of the things I usually order here are: dragon fire shrimp– think bang bang shrimp but a little sweeter with a thicker batter Miso roasted Chilean sea bass– the fish itself is truly worth the trip alone! Super buttery, flaky and moist. Flavors of the fish are spot on! The jasmine rice and the sauce are a little bland though. Prime rib– if you want it medium you’ll most likely have to send it back for it to be cooked a little longer. Their ovens that are set to specific temps(ex rare, medium, well ect) are off and always come out under done. They have a great happy hour menu. I’d recommend them :)
