This is one of those fast-casual Chipotle-style make your own pizza places, one of many that are popping up all over the country. This one distinguishes itself by serving oblong pizzas instead of circular ones. The ingredients are pretty good and look fresh — I like that they offer the option to have an egg cracked over your pizza before baking. The only problem is that they use a conveyor-belt toaster oven contraption, like the kind that sandwich joints use to toast sandwiches and melts, instead of an actual oven, probably due to the limitations of being in an airport. If you’re a topping fiend like me and get more than 3 – 4 toppings, your pizza will probably end up watery and undercooked like mine. I ate half of it and took the other half with me on my flight back to Connecticut, and then I baked it for another 10 minutes in my oven at home. It was much, much better. If you get a lot of toppings, ask and see if they can put it through their baking contraption cycle twice — it will probably turn out much tastier that way.

Really delicious gourmet/artisan pizza, best part about it… it’s at an airport. It’s rare when you can find good food at an airport, kudos to Dulles. Food: I built my own pizza, because I crave control, just kidding. I opted for whole wheat dough and mushroom truffle as my sauce. They offer three cheese options, it was a hard choice, but I went with the fresh mozzarella. The mozzarella is some of the freshest I’ve ever had on a pizza, I almost drooled as I watched the employee pull apart the chunks of mozzarella. There are tons of toppings to chose from, a lot of unique ones that most build-your-own-pizza places don’t have, such as spicy chickpeas. I added spinach, chicken, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, red peppers and garlic. They also have a wide-set of after-bakes, such as arugula, more cheeses and various oils. I went ahead and added arugula, parmesan and red chili oil. My pizza was super delicious. I liked that the crust was thin and light, the truffle sauce was a bit too salty for my liking, I would go with something else next time. The chicken was shredded and very simple and savory. They have the most sauce options I’ve ever seen. My boyfriend ordered the gnarlic pizza(signature pizza). I really liked his pizza, the cheese/sauce went very well together, however it was super oily. Price: We paid about 20 bucks for both pizzas, very decently priced for the quality and the fact that it’s at an airport. Ambiance: Large and sleek. Tons of seating and assembly line is very clean and easy to follow. Service: Very friendly employees, they were patient with my indecisive crafting skills. Overall: Expect high quality ingredients and a large quantity of food for a very fair price. I highly recommend &pizza and if I’m ever back at Dulles or in the DC area, I’ll definitely be coming back.

*****3.5 stars***** As I wondered around terminal C for food options prior to my departure, I was beyond excited to see an &pizza. Besides Potbelly, there’s another fast casual spot to grab a quick bite to eat. If that wasn’t enough, they open at 6am. Hooray! Tasty pizza, but probably the messiest location I’ve been to. The various topping stations weren’t clean(toppings not contained in their bins… doesn’t look visually appealing. A quick wipe down every couple of minutes would be nice) and the individual finishing off the pizzas didn’t seem like he knew the various types of signature pizzas offered. We got the Maverick and Farmer’s Daughter. He was unsure how to finish off the Maverick and was going to put the finishing touches of the Farmer’s Daughter onto a pizza that was self crafted. Regardless of this, we still enjoyed our pizzas. They tasted as good as I remembered. I like that this location has a bar. If you wanted to grab a seat at the bar, you could also place an order for pizza from the bartender without standing in line. Quite a few communal tables areas are available to eat at as well. Not sure if their seasonal pizzas like the Boss Hog or cheeseburger pizzas are offered here. I didn’t see signage posted. Hopefully it was just an off day for this location. I enjoy their pizza, so I’ll be back when I fly United.

Holy cow. I might be going out on a limb here, but this is without question among the best pizza places in the WORLD in my opinion. As someone who flies through IAD from time-to-time I go out of my way(from the A gates over to C28) to get a pizza here. Nowhere else can you create your own pizza with unlimited and exotic(don’t worry, they have traditional as well) ingredients. Yum!

&Pizza is pretty tasty. Airports need more of these and fewer chain donut and fast phood places. Bottomline: it’s a $ 10 fresh personal pizza that doesn’t come from a big chain. Pizza has always been build your own. It’s friggin’ pizza people — the customer has always picked the toppings. Thats«HOWPIZZAWORKS.» I guess sexy pizza is the new $ 10 cupcake? In SoDoSoPa, all pizza is «artisanal» and«build your own.» Good concept, local business, ready pretty quickly, great ingredients, the crust is pretty tasty … Can’t complain. Oh, and they serve beer. Beer and a pizza are a nice way to roll into a redeye. You’ll not be disappointed.

These«instant pizza» places have been popping up all over the DC area recently, I guess they are the new cupcake craze. Out of all of them I have tried though, &pizza is probably the best. The ingredients they use seem to be fresh and very good. I like that they add stuff to your pizza both before they cook it and after it is done.

It can be challenging to find a good bite to eat at the airport when you have a short layover AND your boyfriend is gluten free. Unilocal,as always, came to the rescue offering a nearby fast-takeout pizza place in our terminal. It was worth a stop if you’re in a rush and want something semi-healthy. I had the backyard pizza(veggie) with garlic spread, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, tomatoes, and arugula. It was supposed to have mozz on top, but they added parm instead so it ended up being more like a salad ontop of pizza crust. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. Dan had the GF crust and build your own option. He asked for pepperoni and got peppers. They folks behind the counter rushed through the orders. They were very soft spoken and didn’t walk us through our orders well so there was some confusion. Then, the pizzas were in the oven and baking — too late to turn back! The takeout boxes are long and rectangular so it posed some challenges finding a comfortable place to eat since we needed to sit down to dive in. The pizza is pretty big so we had some leftovers and brought it on the plane for snacking later. Wish we had a smaller box that we could toss in our carry on, but instead had to carry the enormous box on our plane. *GF crust is good! But I wouldn’t recommend if you’re anything more than intolerant because there may be cross-contamination happening as they prep your toppings with non-GF pizzas on the same counters.

Decent fast-food style build your own pizza. Not the best pizza, but good for airport fare.

I nearly blew a nut finding this place in my terminal while waiting for my flight to Tokyo. I’m so glad to have found that place. Great pizza made fresh with beer and fountain drinks all ready to go at. Moments notice which beats United’s crap excuse for a meal. Eat here or go to hell.

Really good pizza, drinks, service and prices –especially for an airport! Me + two teenage boys customized our super tasty pizzas & got really good local sodas(they had local bottled root beers, I had a passion fruit mango fountain soda) –all for about $ 40. Food seemed to be good quality, everything was freshly prepared and the service was really good.

One word… onolicious!!! The thin crust pizza is absolutely heavenly. The uniqueness of the pizza shape provides the visual appeal that tantalizes o Es palate. One bite into the farmer’s daughter pizza gives a slight kick of heat. The tomato base blends well with the egg, sausage, spinach, mushrooms and cheeses. A must visit, they also do take out.

We were coming of an international flight and United does not serve much on domestic flights so we got a pizza. The person making it was clearly new, but did a great, but slow job. The pizza was tasty and service was fast. We also got the Salad, that was not so fresh and so had lettuice that could not be eaten and the pizza crust with the salad was not really edible. Still, it is fresh and made as you want it in an airport. That is 4 stars

Yum! Nice to get great food in an airport. My pizza was delicious and I’m not even much of a pizza person. Thin crispy crust and flavorful ingredients.

Totally worth it just for the vegan options alone. They clearly label their ingredients, make it in front of you as well. Vegan meatballs, daiya cheese and vegan crusts. Unfortunately the Gluten free dough is not vegan.

Great concept and fresh ingredients. What I do not like where the employees who are not friendly and actually hostile. Every week that our new limits on the number of toppings on their specialty pizza. This varies from employee to employee. Last week, it was Delilah(?Deliah– they have no badges and mumble their name out if you ask) who limited my topping to three. When a second(?middle eastern gentleman) was asked about the limits on number of toppings, he opened the pizza first as if to count my topping before declaring his limit as five! lol Stick to the parent chain in D. C– avoid this…

Handcrafted, gourmet pizza during a layover? Yes please! Actually popped in here after a redeye at 6 a.m. to try one of the breakfast pizzas(available 6 – 10 a. m). Great food, friendly staff and conveniently located between the C and D terminals. Place was quite popular during the 6 – 7 a.m. hour, and the wafting smell of pizza enticed many to stop and try.

This is an interesting concept for pizza. It’s essentially like a sandwich line, but for ingredients that go on top of a dough ellipse. The food is fresh, and the prices are reasonable. If you have the time, I think customizing and picking your own ingredients is a pretty neat concept; otherwise you could also go for the specialties on the menu. After they get everything on there, it goes through a slow oven and comes out hot and crisp. The pizza looks quite large, and it can probably feed 1.5 people. It’s pretty tasty, and I do like the crispy crust. You might try to not pack too many ingredients because the dough underneath is pretty thin and breaks easily. But if you don’t mind using a utensil for the stuff that falls off, that’s probably not a problem. And they have a nice bar and seating area too!

Excellent! Fresh, diverse toppings and a delicious crust. I highly recommend the spicy tomato sauce — not overwhelming but packs a definite kick. Also, when they hand you the box and you think to yourself, «Oh, I’ll never eat all this” — think again! Yum.

Genius! Pizza-crafting and entrepreneurial genius! Not only do I love artisan pizza, I also love a local business, and it’s nice to finally have an &pizza location within reach for a frequent traveler and Fairfax County resident. The &pizza masterminds have their concept down pat: for no more than $ 10, craft the pizza for of your dreams on an oven-crisped oval-shaped thing crust pizza — choose from classic dough or ancient grains. No gluten free option, FYI. Several cheese choices including Daiya dairy-few cheese, and a mind-boggling array of vegetables, meats, herbs, and of course sauces. Don’t want to make you own? Choose from &pizza’s pre-selected master list of pizza creations: I recommend the Grecian Market or the Spicy varieties! It is so nice to have a delicious, locally-owned, and reasonably priced restaurant at Dulles! Plenty of seating, a great bar with all the booze and nice bartenders, and a quiet convenient location. It was cool to see the owner and manager on-site and assisting with food prep and bar tending, in addition to being on-hand to answer questions and effusively inform patrons about their pizza crafting! I should also mention they have fresh-made Caprese and house salads with homemade dressings and in-house mozzarella — how about that?! I do wish the salads were a bit larger(more entrée size) and/or that they offered a gluten-free crust option, but other than that, I love everything about this establishment! Overall, though — great location in between Gate C28 and D2 — it’s quiet, convenient, and spared from a lot of the madness that permeates the area within the gate areas themselves. Do yourself a favor, and take a much-needed moment to relax and unwind in their nice, private seating area and/or well-stocked bar, or take your unique, fresh and oval-shaped pizza to go to incite envy among your fellow airplane mates!
