I’ve been coming to V5 since it opened as well as the former Fox Chase Tavern. I live across the street in Lowes Island, so for me, it’s a convenient thing. The bar has a «Cheers» vibe and you tend to see the same folks/locals every time you come in, especially on Sundays. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, just an observation. The service is usually pretty good and the waitresses are friendly and attentive. The bar has plenty of TV’s to watch whichever game you’re interested in. I’m a fan of the newer craft beers/IPA’s, and although they have one or two on tap, I’d like to see a more robust craft beer selection. The taps are clogged with the typical domestic beers(Bud, Miller, Coors etc.) that just seem boring to me. Maybe they have to keep these on tap for their usual clientele, but it would be great to see some local beers on tap as many of the other upscale breweries are doing. The food is really hit or miss. I’ve tried most of the items on the menu and I’d probably put most in the category of standard bar food. It’s OK but nothing spectacular. The one item I always go back to though is the wings. The wings are very good. They have a lot of unique sauces(Chipotle Raspberry & Spicy Crap are my two favorites at the moment) and both bone-in and bone-out wings are solid. In summary, V5 is a good option if you’re in the neighborhood and are looking to watch a game, drink a beer, and grab some wings. If I’m looking for a quick beer/wing fix it’s perfect. If you’re looking to kick it up a notch, check out Bungalow Lakehouse which is about 5 minutes from V5. Overall, the Lakehouse has better food(Wings and flatbread pizzas are awesome), and a much larger beer selection including many of the local/craft beers mentioned earlier. Cheers!

Never have really been a fan of this place. Every time I would come in, the staff would always seem to be on edge. And the bartenders were just plain rude. I got the pastrami sandwich, I guess I should have listen to my father when he said only get pastrami from New York. It was bland and had no taste.

Food is ok and service is decent. Nice and clean and love the outside patio. Sometimes they have bands play, but I must say the choices aren’t that great. The band that is going to play this weekend is terrible. I saw them and listened to them play a few months back and I dont know how OTR band gets any gigs!!! The lead singers voice(female) is off key and the guys are not much better. There are times I actually cringed and we all ended up moving inside so we didnt have to hear them play. Skip this band in particular — not worth the time. Thank goodness there was no cover. Other than that — pretty good place to hang out.

My 2 friends and I came in for a beer Saturday night after a long work day at 12:15pm since the poster closing time is 2am… there were at least 5 – 10 people there with drinks and/or food as we walked inside, when the bartender immediately yelled, «we’re closed!» …there was no «oh, I’m sorry, let me explain why we’re closed when our hours say we close at 2am both online and on the front door… «When we asked why we wouldn’t be served when the posted hours say 2am and pointed out that there are plenty of people there with a drink, she said I guess I could serve you one drink but that’s it… we aren’t that busy so we decided to do last call early… We all ordered a drink, paid our $ 20 tab with a $ 10 tip immediately and took our drinks outside, where the service got EVENWORSE. The outside bartender, a middle aged blonde woman, named Nicki, is a disgrace to this establishment. We told her what happened inside and the two men who were already patronizing the outside bar overheard us and became worried the bar was closing… before even responding to us, Nicki tells them, «don’t worry, YOURE fine»…we look at each other appalled at the continued rude service with our mouths open in shock and Nicki aggressively charges over and demands directly In front of us,“WHAT was that?» At this point I ask for the manager… a tall man dark haired man identified himself as not only the manager but also the owner, cutting us off before even telling him what happened and said that ABC law said we had to leave immediately… as we begin to protest Nicki Yells out from behind the bar«that’s the case!» I asked for the managers name and he said Jimmy… I highly doubt the owner of ANY establishment would encourage hostile treatment to polite sober patrons looking to enjoy one beverage well before posted closing hours… Get a manager who cares about customer service because the current staff is a disgrace to the idea! I have never experienced such offensive, hostile, downright mean and rude service in all of my life. …clearly this bar serves the staffs’ friends ONLY and closes down to the general public early so they can use V5 as their own personal playground. It seemed as if we walked in on a private party and the«patrons» there were actually their personal friends and general public werent allowed… clearly the management decided the ABC law applied to actual guests, not friends of the staff who probably get free drinks at the real owners expense in exchange for a bigger tip in their pocket.

Been working here for along time! Love our wings, burgers and sandwiches! Chef Jose does a great job along with the rest of the kitchen staff!

Meh. Sums it up. If you need a place to watch a few games and get a few standard brews then its fine. Food is subpar pub food. Wings need a lot of work.

Went here after a friends birthday dinner last night. No specials on a Monday night. They don’t have a drinks menu. They don’t have a blender to make frozen drinks. So the bartender makes us something, later comes back to ask if I like it. I tell him it tastes off. He explains to me that the grenadine is at the bottom. He leaves lol. Doesn’t try to fix it or anything. The bartenders sat at their own table, didn’t stay at the bar. Crowd is in their 40s-50s. I don’t drink even half of that drink because it tastes weird, he still charges me for it doesn’t try to do anything about it. Like 15 people are in the whole place but I have to get up and walk to him to hand him my card to pay. I guess if you are going here just order a beer and expect it to be self serve.

Main reason to be at this place is for music. Right? So the band starts at 6 and quits at 10 on Saturday. WTH is that? Who goes out at6 on Saturday? Early bird special crowd? Haven’t even gotten home from the pool yet.

Had the pretzel bites and they were awesome. Out of stock on the boneless wings… bummer Cheese steak sub/sandwich was good, could use more beef. Taste was good. Shoe string fries were good and house salad was good. Need to add French dressing to list of dressings

Went there for the first time last night — party of 3. Walked in and stood at the hostess station for about 2 mins. before someone came to sit us.(No sign saying wait to be seated or seat yourself, we almsot went to seat ourselves cause no one was coming and the bartender didn’t notice us either.) Later our server was attentive and very good about refills/checking on the food. No complaints about service during meal and the manager even came to check on us. The menu online is not the same menu at the restaurant. There are several items showing online that were not listed, so that was a bit of a downer. Their online menu tabs are not working, so we chose the option to download the entire menu at their website and 2 of us in our party had to change their meals since they were no longer on the actual menu. With that said, most of the food was tasty. Typical bar food in my opinion. Loved the V5Turkey Club, Chicken Pesto Wrap. The wings were ok. The chili cheese fries were tasty and the chili was not spicy. The fries were limp/undercooked(even the ones not doused with chili) and could have been crispier. Nice plus was that they had live music on Thursday night. Lots of TV’s, interesting layout with the booths/tables(a lot of unused space) that I am guessing when they get larger parties they can quickly move the tables together? All in all, we will go back and are glad we went.

Small bar but on Saturdays when they have a dj it’s a fun place to go just to have a couple drinks and dance. I have tried a Thursday as well as Friday and was kind of disappointed in how boring it was. But for something close to home and drinks on the cheaper side this is my go to bar for fun.

Moved into Loews island and this is the closest sports bar. Is it the best sports bar I’ve gone to… no. But for a sport bar it’s not that bad as some of the reviews make it out to be, definitely a different vibe but going back a few times it’s chill I’ve been pleased with their burgers, wings and beer specials

Imagine Moe’s Tavern where you have Lenny, Carl, Barney and Homer sitting in a depressing environment with Moe serving them Duff. This is that place. My friend and I were looking for a place to get some wings and beer while watching football. The wings were meh, nothing special. I got an order of potato skins which again were mediocre at best and didn’t have any onion on them. Definitely would have preferred some onion on them. The beer specials were decent with 2.50 domestic drafts. We got a bucket of land sharks(5 beers) for 10 bucks. What stood out the most was the air of depression and regret that emanated from the bar. At one point, one of the patrons started singing Jumper by Third Eye Blind. «I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend.» I have no idea why he was singing it, but it seemed appropriate for what we were experiencing. There were enough TV’s to catch most college games. I’d assume they have most NFL games on Sunday. Service was good. Would I come here again? Probably not. And I blame my friend for this Saturday experience.

2.5 stars. Went here tonight for a quick bite. Is it the most gourmet food you’re going to find? No, but you will find plentiful portions. Tonight, I had the nachos and the steak and cheese. The nachos were average — piled high with cheese, guac, jalapenos, sour cream, tomatoes, beans, and meat, but nothing really wowed me about the dish. The portion was enormous — 4 of us split this easily. Since the nachos were pretty filling, my husband and I decided to split the steak and cheese. We also subbed the sweet potato fries for the shoestring fries. Sandwich was ok — nothing special, the meat definitely could have used more seasoning — but again, a large portion, and, BONUS — they actually pre-split the food up for us and brought it out on separate plates. The best part about this place? They had Sam Adams Octoberfest on tap. Again, I wouldn’t come here for the food, but wouldn’t rule it out if I was looking for a place to watch a game or two.

The staff is pretty attentive to your needs, only one time when I went in there and asked what they had on tap and the waitress looked at me and said really, then sighed and tried to remember what they had which she couldn’t. The food was pretty good, so far none of my orders have been messed up. As sports bars go, this is okay. Lots of TV for any sports event that you will not miss any highlights from any seat. Dinning area away from the bar was nice but it will not be quite if you are looking for a quite sit down dinner during a game or other event.

Surprisingly decent. Burger is a frozen patty… Avoid if possible. I give it 3 stars because the wings were pretty delicious and they have around 10 different flavors! This place is kid-friendly and does have live music on the weekends. It would be nice if they could have decent salads or lunch food.

There should be a separate rating system for sports bars. As sports bars go, this is okay. It doesn’t have that smoke sheen, probably because the shopping center complex isn’t that old. Bunch of older(retired or unemployed) men sitting at the bar, making drunken comments at my co-workers at 4PM on a weekday. Fun stuff. Bud Light on tap was stale according to a co-worker — they gladly gave her another beer of her choice. Happy hour specials look good($ 7 cheese pizzas on the day we went — Thursday). Good juke box. They need Buzztime to get me to come back. Nothing really stood out about this place. Basic sports bar. End of story.

My co-workers and I went here for lunch. We had a coupon for buy-one-get-one-free coupon. The burger was fine and the fries were good. They were not super skinny or wedge fries. It was nothing special but it was good. The service we had was excellent. We noticed that it seemed very dark inside. The high dark walls makes the bar look really creepy in the middle of the day. All in all I could see this being a nice hang out pub but it’s nothing special.
