Di Carlo’s Pizza has always been something we looked forward to whenever we come to town. Last Sunday I was picking up some pizza and saw nobody wearing plastic gloves when handling the food, even after handling cash money. The pizza was way too thick(not like the original) and was doughy because it was not cooked all the way through. It was disappointing and nothing like the Di Carlo’s we loved as kids living in Steubenville.

Di Carlo’s is a former pizza titan that defined the style that made the Steubenville pizza brand what it is today. However, just like the titans of history, their popularity is better left as a memory. There is nothing generous about the portions of ingredients that you’ll find on their pizza. In comparison to their competition, the price point is high and the quality is low. Fast, friendly, or convenient service could almost mask the over-all quality of their product, unfortunately, they fall short there as well.

This square sliced pizza is nothing like I have ever experienced. Pizza crust and sauce are baked removed from oven and then the toppings are sprinkled on top and not returned for further baking. It was so weird. I know the locals love this square pizza stuff but if you are not local beware.

Sure I am biased by a family history of eating here, but I love the pizza and really haven’t been disappointed.

I grew up on this pizza like most people around here. The pizza has sure gone way down hill. I don’t know what happen but I don’t even bother anymore. Plus they when you walk in the ask what you want and then they walk away and not even listen so unless you want pep only you will have to tell them again when they decide to make you pay.

I have been going here since Peppy owned/ran the place. Great pizza then as well as now.

I stopped for a couple of slices, what a mistake! This was by far the worst pizza I have had recently. I love DiCarlos in Weirton but this one you couldn’t tell it was DiCarlos. Frozen pizza tasted better. Never again will I waste my time stopping here. This is a disgrace to the DiCarlos name.
