We weren’t impressed with the Amber Grill — we took relatives who were visiting from out-​of-​town & will never do that again. My husband ordered the Prime Rib special of the day, we both ordered garlic mashed potatoes — after about 15 minutes the waitress came back & informed us that they were out of both the Prime Rib and the mashed potatoes. It was only 7pm on a Saturday evening — I would’ve understood if it was 9pm, but 7pm is not late especially for a restaurant attached to a large hotel. Our guests asked for a bread basket, which the waitress said she’d bring, but we never received. Our appetizers came out within a reasonable time frame, but the chicken wings were barely warm — certainly not hot. Our main courses took almost an hour to get to us from the time we ordered, and then my husband’s plate had the wrong sides. It was a frustrating, disappointing experience to say the least. We will not be going back.

I ordered the ahi tuna and requested it to be cooked rare; it came out way overcooked. The bartender didn’t bother checking on me until almost 30 minutes later. They comped the order, but then the bartender charged me full price for my beer during happy hour. What gives? I ate here because it was convenient, but I won’t be returning any time soon.

Great happy hour specials $ 2 house wine starting at 4 pm-​how can you go wrong??? Love to sit on the outdoor patio. Food has been good the few times I have eaten there, they also have food specials during happy hour. Claire is an excellent server.

The food is really amazing and its very original! All the workers were friendly and I will be going back. I recommened the blue cheese burger or the squash ravioli!

I was staying at the holiday inn… I visited the Amber bar only because it was convent. I was pleasantly surprised. The ratings are defiantly lower than they should be. My meal was a top 10. I had the New York strip with garlic mash. The steak was marbled nicely and cooked to perfection. The service was top notch. Migual was on top of things making drinks and taking food orders. Very knowledgable on the beer choices. I recommend the point Seasonal Bock. I had a great meal and great service. Give this place a try.

this place is attached to the Holiday Inn so this is where you get breakfast. the restaurant tries to hard to be sophisticated. there are large booths and chandeliers and european art (of all different ages) on the walls. they play random music as well.
we only went here for the breakfast that was included in our room rate. the service was random and i still can’t figure out why every table did not have sugar and cream on it during a breakfast service…
still, our server Ryan was very helpful and friendly. and that cinnamon french toast was amazing!!! i wanted to take some home with me but it is made and frozen so that would not work well for a return to San Francisco…

A significant improvement.
We ventured back last night — staff were attentive and seemed a lot more focused. Where a delay was imminent we were notified. Response times were all good.
We love what the Amber Grill does with the green beans — these were superb.

Driving through Stevens Point and stumbled upon this place for lunch. We didn’t have high expectations, but were blown away by the food, service and price. Everything was excellent! Happy dining! :)
