Out of Business, and what a bummer! Thought we’d take a nice little drive along Hwy 14 tonight, to this great little place where we’d enjoyed the food before. Got there and were greeted by empty windows, and a «For Lease» sign! Aw, man.

I don’t know what happened in two months, but this quaint place went from great food to just average. What happened to the great fish and chips? I had a burger and fries the fries were the worst, and the burger was only so/so, won’t be driving up from Portland again any time soon. Raise your prices don’t cut your quality, my girlfriends food wasn’t much better, but the wine was great.

I had the steak. I ordered medium rare and there was no pink at all there. The steak had been put on top of the mashed potatoes and the juice had dripped over the top of the potatoes making it an ugly mess. I don’t know why, but I spent the rest of the evening in the bathroom as a result of this meal. Service was efficient but lacked any enthusiasm or genuine caring.

My husband and I stopped here on our way through town and were pleasantly suprised. Good food(more than just the usual fried bar food), well priced, friendly staff, great patio overlooking the water, laid back vibe. Great place for causal lunch or dinner.

If you’re not in a big hurry, CXXX Bar and Grill is a very good choice. Excellent food, good prices, friendly wait staff, extensive selection of beer and wine. Ask to be seated on the outdoor patio — the view is wonderful.

I’m NOT an out-of-towner and although I agree the food is good and the beer selection nice the service is very bad. The are obviously inconsistent and keep changing help. We have been asked to close out a tab halfway through our visit because«they were going to have her work.» It doesn’t matter that the management team(obviously husband and wife) is new, I don’t want to know about problems with the help. I don’t want to hear them discuss their personal business. I don’t want to see their child and others running around a bar with guys watching the football games while yelling«fuck» at dropped balls while they discuss who is taking her home. My biggest issue, though is the lack of heat. I don’t want to have to sit in a restaurant with thermals on and still have to place my coat over my lap to stay warm. By cold I mean when I returned home with my thermostat set to 60 for while we we gone, it felt warm. I expect a warm, dry and welcoming place to eat dinner. This was none of those.

We were staying close by and are always looking for restaurants that serve fresh local food. Despite the mixed reviews we decided to give this a try. Food was very mediocre & service was horrendous. The staff seemed very preoccupied and distracted. We have been traveling in the Northwest for 5 days and this was our only bad restaurant experience. Totally missing the mark!

The service was comically bad. There is no reason to wait an hour for water or an hour and a half for a burger. Virtually everything we ordered went missing at one point. After we pointed out that half our order was missing, they brought half of that but had to reminded that more was still missing. The host was drunk and they served our underage daughter an alcoholic drink she didn’t order.

We were there on a beautiful sunny summer afternoon. How could anything go wrong. The food was tasty and had a nice assortment of local beers. I think the air conditioning was out the day we were there so we had to sit on the deck and look at the river – bummer. :)

Food is good, service is not so good. So bad in fact that we sat there for over 2 hours. The waitress never came by to after dropping off our dinner to see if we needed anything, including water or other drinks, and we waited 30 minutes for our check after they cleared our plates. They were not overly busy and they had more than enough people on staff.

Great beer selection and great view of the river!!! Has loads of local beers from throughout the gorge! Excellent place to go have a few drinks after a day on the river!

The view was what lured us in, and that was nice! BUT, the service was horrible, the food was bad and the wine pour was insulting. It was $ 9 for literally ¼ of a cup of wine, the fish and chips were over cooked and the other plates had no sides no garnishment. The server kept apologizing with empty promises. I am a paying customer hoping for to find a wonderful place to frequent and THISISNOT it!

Good food, great service, fantastic view on the deck. Great beer selection. I had the” incredible cheeseburger” and it was pretty darn good. I would have preferred knowing where the beef came from. My wife had the crab bisque and a small salad. Tasty. Also if note; they offer a smaller size burger for a couple bucks less than the regular size.

Dropped in here with my riding buddies… they kept telling me it had Walking Man beat… oh suuuure… Well, the view sure as hell does. Incredible view of the river from the glass enclosed deck. Service was very brisk, extremely friendly… and we are NOT regulars. Beer selection was very good, food was good as well. Very nice after-ride break.

It’s cozy and cute. There’s not much to it, but it’s a nice spot. Unfortunately, there isn’t a view unless it isn’t raining and you can sit out on the deck. But the service is friendly and fast. The atmosphere and vibe is nice. They have a lot of great beers on tap. And the food is pretty good. This is definitely a great place to stop for a drink or bite when in the Stevenson area.

Our morning started off with a guided bird hike with a naturalist in the Pierce National Wildlife Refuge, about a 45 minute drive from east Vancouver, just past Beacon Rock State Park. A group of ten of us braved the brisk winds whistling up the Gorge on a gorgeously sunny, but chilly stroll along the Columbia River. As we finished and climbed back in our car, we noticed the gas light was illuminated. Since we were closer to Stevenson than Vancouver, we decided to head up the highway and find a bite to eat after we had filled up as it was nearing lunch time. We completely stumbled across the 130 Bar and Grill. Hidden off the main drag, this wonderful waterside eatery has only been open since September. We were searching for Walking Man Brewery, but were dismayed to find it wasn’t open until later in the afternoon. Peeking around the corner from the brewery, we spotted an ‘Open’ sign on a small house-sized building with large roman numerals ‘CXXX’ over the door. It appeared to have an inviting glass-enclosed deck facing the Columbia – perfect for this sunny April day! We wandered in and were promptly greeted with a smile by Amber, manning a beautiful wooden bar. She let us know the deck was open for business(woo-hoo!). Leading us through the well appointed, sleekly modern restaurant to the back deck, she took our drink orders as we settled in. I was delighted to discover that one of their microbrew taps was a Barefoot Brown by the Walking Man Brewery, which she told me wasn’t too dark(I prefer ambers, but they didn’t offer any). My husband chose a Sagelands merlot, and we were set – watching the kite boarders launch into the air just steps away from our table. We were soon joined by other travelers looking for a meal and drinks in the sun. The menu offered a wide variety of food including soups, salads, appetizers and burgers. We both decided to order the grilled pastrami sandwich, as it is one of our favorites. It was served with Swiss cheese and coleslaw on marbled rye. I substituted caramelized onions on mine as I’m not much of a slaw eater, and it seems wrong(to me) to put it in a sandwich. My husband chose a cup of the house specialty seafood bisque, and I decided on French fries as our sides. The food arrived perfectly cooked. The pastrami was thinly sliced, tender, and piled high on the crunchy, toasted bread with the cheese melting down the sides. My thick fries were steamy hot and crisp, and I saw my husband eyeing them, wishing he had ordered them instead of the soup. There were more than enough to share! While Amber checked back in with us to see if everything was satisfactory, we asked her why there was no signage directing us off SR14. She bemoaned the fact that city signage rules didn’t allow for it. So if you’re looking for something other than gas while driving up the Gorge, watch for the sign that indicates ‘Waterfront’ at the edge of Stevenson and turn off to find this gem – great service, good food and an awesome view!

I went here a couple days before Christmas two months ago since our favorite restaurant in the area was closed due to their company Christmas party. I frequent the Stevenson area on hikes in the gorge pretty regularly & will NEVEREVER return to 130 Bar and Grill! My friends and I had children with us and were cold after playing in the snow just a few minutes before arriving to the 130 Bar and Grill. We thought by the décor that it looked like a warm & inviting place, but we were way off! We were seated and had to wait 15 minutes before we received water! We were cold and the kids just wanted Hot Chocolate — finally a different server came since the first one didn’t want to help us apparently — just give mean looks instead — and she said«Well, you guys want something other then water???» I just looked at her and didn’t know what to say… In my head I said«is this a trick question?! Are you kidding me?» She let me know she saw us coming in while she was on her smoke break! How tacky to point that out I thought and that was close to 30 minutes ago anyhow! So, we ordered our drinks which we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for! At this point we were all so disgusted with the poor service — even the kids were upset! If we didn’t have the children who were starving by this point with us we would had been outta there! We finally ordered our food about 45 minutes after being seated — after watching what looked like local customers being greeted after us and being promptly served! I couldn’t help but think«this must be how they treat out of towners here». Well, we only live 40 minutes away & will never be back! To top it off when our food came which was surprisingly good(but I could barely enjoy it after how we were treated) it was taken to two wrong tables at first — then they found us! This place wasn’t very crowded I want to add! I have never left such a pathetic tip in my life — 27 cents, but I couldn’t help it — I was trying to send a message! I will never be back & have told everyone I know to never go there as well as my friends & my fiancé who were with me have spread the word — stay away unless you’re a local or you’ll be treated like an outsider! I even called to speak with the manager a few days after this terrible display of poor customer service to complain and I reached the Assistant Manager instead in which I stated«how sad in this economy where people are wishing for jobs that we would be treated this way by their employees»! She apologized, but I never heard back… after she said she would call me back after speaking with their employees involved. Not a big surprise I never heard back since Customer Service is obviously not something this restaurant cares about!
