No one mentions on here that they charge $ 10 per person for entrance plus you have to show ID. There’s really loud spanish music and a DJ who talks too much. It’s really pricy even the food but it was really really good that’s why I gave it 3 stars just for the food

Terrible service I been there a couple times before and it was OK but last time I was there it was just so disappointing. The service it the worst I’ve ever experienced and the food is overpriced. We order a parrillada for 4 people that cost us $ 100 and we left hungry because there was not enough meat or chicken they fill out the grill with a lot of peppers and onions and just a couple strips meat. We complain with the supervisor and owner they just didn’t care or did anything to change the situation. I’m never going back again.

We have been eating here once a week for 8 years! The food is good, but the service is exceptional. The waitstaff is so warm and welcoming — you will feel so at home. The chips are fresh and hot, and the guacamole is thick and creamy. The margaritas are not too sweet and the rice is fantastic. I am not a fan of the fajitas here or the beans(they are extremely thick), but everything else has always hit the spot. Also, depending on the hour, you may be the only ones in there. The ambiance is not particularly festive(unless you come during a party night where there is music and dancing).

I have been there twice and have enjoyed the food. I had the chipotle chicken and chicken mole dishes and they were flavorful.

I am SODISAPPOINTED! I have been there over 10 times and have loved it! We have brought large groups here, we have danced and drank. We have not been here in over a year,(pregnancy and small child with some health issues) BUT we went tonight. It was a horrible experience. Waitress barely saw us. PLUS they added a 20% tip to our over $ 100 bill. I have no problem tipping well, but let me decide the tip. I talked to the«manager» who YELLED at me and called me a liar in Spanish(and didn’t think I understood). We have refused to come back EVER when it use to be our favorite spot. We also have canceled our future plans with a large group. We live on the south side and we will TRAVEL great distance for a good with food and liquor.

I went back after last years horrible experience because someone told me I should give them another shot as they had changed some of the people in charge. I honestly did not order anything to eat as all I wanted to do was dance, the DJ was great, I danced all night long. Unfortunately, the service was REALLY bad again, it took more than 20 minutes just to find out who our waitress was and I understand she was busy but her attitude was not the nicest, she actually snapped at her co-worker right in front of us. Another thing I did not like is that there were actual kids at the place!!! You would think they had rules about kids at a place where some people are drinking. I don’t know I just do not think I will ever go back no matter what anyone tells me.

We have been here a few times & think the food is very good & so is the service. I love their margaritas :) Last time I went & I had the shrimp tacos which had so much flavor that I can’t wait to go back & have them again.

I really wanted to rate this higher but service can be a bit inconsistent. Our service the last time was pretty bad but will judge it as a whole. Their Chicago location is their best but I like this place because it is roomy. Overall I compare this place to Lalo’s. They do have an outside dining area when it’s nice out. Their lot is very small for the amount of people that can be at the actual restaurant, quarter full inside and the lot will be maxed out. So if you show up on a Saturday after 8:00, you’ll probably be parking on the street. Their food is very tasty, their meats are always nice and tender especially their milanesa(breaded steak). They have a mixture of traditional Mexican and then some up mixed a bit. It works for the most part but I love the traditional(which is basically a meat, rice and beans served on a place usually accompanied with some sort of salad and tortillas). Try their combinations to get a small taste of multiple foods. Their mix drinks are a bit light on the alcohol level and taste was okay, nothing too special. On Saturdays, it turns into a night club. This happens after 9 pm, if you are already there dining there is no coverage fee. After is $ 10 per person. Since it’s a restaurant /club it’s more of a family party feel to it, all types of ages so the crowds are very different every weekend. I was confused by someone always selling flowers there(like you would see for sweety’s day or Valentines day) but thought it was worth mentioning. Price range is average $ 14 – 22 a plate so it’s not too bad.

I’ve been here a lot, and it’s great. Delicious food! In fact, I’m eating leftovers right now for lunch. I always go there kind of early when it’s not busy.

Based on the nightlife I had a good time. Surprised by the drag queen show but was very entertained. Margaritas where strong but delicious! I like the fact that it’s not packed like Lalos and the atmosphere was great! Staff was very nice. Will come back and party here.

Worst Mexican restaurant ever. Service horrible and apparently they were the owner. You can get better tasting food @ a taco burrito place than here. If you honestly love mexican food than you’d be able to tell the difference between good quality and bad such as this one. If it were up to me then I wouldn’t even give it one star.

The worst Mexican food ever. The meat(supposedly steak) in my fajitas was so fatty and grisly I couldn’t eat it — I planned on taking it home to feed it to my dogs since it was too expensive to waste. A previous reviewer said the guacamole portion was small, and yes, it was. Way too expensive for about 1 cup of guacamole. I would have liked the free flautas except that they put hot sauce on half of it and i couldn’t eat it. I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews because they were right. With all the restaurants in Berwyn and Cicero, I won’t ever come back here.

First off I have never been to Las Fuentes before and I really didn’t know what to expect. I went out with some coworkers for one of their birthdays and I had a lot of fun, once the liquor kicked in at least. When we got there they made us pay $ 5 per person cover for a raffle which they never even had or announced considering we were there till they closed. The DJ had the music blaring so loud that we had to yell into everyone’s ear in order to hear each other. So all conversations were nearly impossible. My food was good I had chicken breast with all sorts of vegetables but it tasted more Asian than Mexican to me. The margaritas were good as well. They did not give us complimentary water, instead they gave us small cups with ice and a bottled water which we later found out they charged us $ 3 per water bottle. Needless to say we were beyond pissed! The DJ cut the music just before 1am, a whole hour before they closed and turned on the lights hinting us to leave! There was another big party there two which were also pissed about this. They also could not split our bill for us which made paying rather difficult. Overall I had some fun and got to dance but I will not be returning.

We’ve been regulars at Las Fuentes since soon after they opened in Stickney over 10-years ago. Their menu is extensive, but I usually order either carne asada or chicken enchiladas, no sour cream, with mole sauce. We went there for dinner Tuesday night, and I had the best meal I’ve ever had there before. My compliments to the chef! We’ve always loved their salsa, and it sure was nice of the waitress to include two cups of salsa with our leftovers. The pre-dinner complimentary order of(4) large nachos is always a nice touch, also. Though we miss Armenio, who was our favorite waiter for over 9-years(and is now stationed at their new Morton Grove location), we still love our«Las»!

Stopped here for lunch today. I didn’t get anything fancy, but what I got was really good and fairly cheap. Pretty nice ambiance. The bar area has large windows facing the street, and a really high ceiling with awesome murals around the upper wall of some Mexican countryside. I sat down at the bar, and after being greeted the waitress/bartender brought out a basket of chips and some delicious salsa. It was the finely chopped type. Great flavor, although I could of had it a little spicier, but non-the-less thoroughly enjoyed it. Waitress also brought out a free appetizer of nachos! I ordered a margarita which was on special for $ 3.99. It was premixed, but it didn’t taste like store bought margarita mix. They may just make a mix in large portions and put it in a jug… should have asked. Either way it was a pretty good margarita. Not too sweet, not too sour, didn’t have that syrupy taste to it that some cheap margaritas do, and plenty of tequila in it. For food I ordered 2 tacos — one chorizo and one steak. The chorizo was the star here. Great spice to it. Both tacos had warm, slightly crispy four tortillas with lettuce tomatoes and cheese. Included a Side of rice and beans. Large portions of everything — I was stuffed by the time I was done and my meal was around $ 12. I would go back here again with a group if I was in the area.

Wow, i went there 2 weeks ago Saturday to meet a friend. Excited to go there and try it out I was greatly disappointed! First hostess was nice but they wanted to charge us $ 10/person for entry plus additionally charge us if we just wanted to eat there. Drinks were weak, place was empty but got slightly more crowded. We weren’t there to dance, but dj was struggling mixing songs. Chips were stale! Horchata tasted like it came out of a box and wasn’t freshly made! Appetizer was garlic octopus/squid, wasn’t cooked properly needed just a little more time being cooked the cook put too much hot peppers that weren’t spicy but filled the plate more than octopus! They automatically put an 18% tip on the bill for 2 adults and 2 kids! I’m never every going here. Place was trying too hard, they even had a guy with flowers going around trying to sell them so the business could nickel and dime you even more!!! Save cost owner, get rid of flower guy, washroom attendants, get a better dj, don’t charge cover at door, no food after 11 only drinks, get friendlier waitresses, and definitely don’t charge 18% tip without the consent of the customer especially when the law applies to only 5ppl and more! That’s why other places(right up the street from you guys) are doing better! If i could rate no stars I would.

Let me amend my previous posting – this place has really gotten itself together! We’ve been back many times and tried a variety of different options, but now I’m stuck in a rut. That rut is called Pescado Chiapaneco(unsure of the spelling, but it’s listed on the specials page). It’s a super yummy grilled fish fillet on a bed of julienned vegetables in a creamy/spicy sauce. Comes with a rice pyramid, salad, and avocado. When Mi Tierra in Berwyn closed, I thought I would never find a new favorite place to go for Mexican food and a beer that was as good and charming. I stand corrected.

I was sitting in traffic with some friends, we were all starving so we pulled in to grab a late lunch. It was about 2.30 when we got there and there was not a single customer to be found. We had a seat and were quickly brought some complimentary soup, chips and salsa. All were pretty tasty. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. The enchiladas were fine, not remarkable(how exciting can cheese enchiladas be, anyway?), but by no means bad. They weren’t overly cheesy, which I think is a good thing — I don’t like when the cheese enchiladas are smothered in more cheese. The black beans were good and the rice was fine. Both friends agreed that their food was pretty decent, one seemed to enjoy her mole. Our lunches were about $ 6 each, very reasonable. The server was friendly, but sometimes it felt like we could have used a little more attention. The dance music coming from the speakers was maybe a little obnoxious for mid-day. All in all, I’d say it was pretty good. I’d like to go back and try something a little more interesting sometime.
