Came back another time with a couple couples who wanted to check this out(we were here a first and thought it’d be the last time in Nov. 2015). Didn’t remember the details of why we wrote them off. This time, service and food was good and I was wondering what our issues were previously. The check came, One of the other couples did the math on the tip(both couples drank a fair amount and we don’t drink at all. They mentioned they didn’t figure the tip on the alcohol which was a sizable part of the bill. We don’t know better — is that typical?) Anyway, when the waitress brought some food she was wrapping up for us(after we signed the check /she took it back) and tossed it on the table. Uhm, is she pissed ’cause of the tip? Looking here, I see it was wait staff issues we didn’t like back in November. Some things don’t change I guess? We didn’t drink /not a big bill the last time and this time didn’t tip on the alcohol… if you aren’t big drinkers /aren’t tipping on the alcohol you get poor service?

Small Bar and Restaurant in suburb of NJ … We were there for late lunch but decided to do appetizers(small plates to share) which were outstanding. We had Philly Cheesesteak egg rolls(crispy and great flavor), garlic shrimp(spicy broth with crispy toast), meat balls. Wines were reasonably priced and a wide variety of beers were available. Three nights later we arrived with a large party where service was outstanding again. We had hanger steak(you could cut with a fork) served with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes, burgers that were to die for, and seafood linguine. To top off dinner we had chocolate molton cake with vanilla ice cream, rich and creamy. Great atmosphere, great food.

Ordered a burger and a beer here and although the burger was a bit on the small side it was tasty and the beer was nice and cold as both should be. The place had a decent vibe to it and the bar seemed to filled with old locals. Decent to drop in once in a while, but nothing special.

Never went to the old place, but have been to Cilento a hand full of times and enjoyed each time. Beer list is impressive for the area and price is right for both drinks and food. Most of what I’ve ordered has been very good. Good mix of older and younger crowd. Bar service is more than capable even with a packed house.

Decided to stop in for a burger despite the fact that I hated the last place that use to be there so much, I swore to never go back. I’m glad I did! The place is actually clean and well lit. I didn’t know the building actually had an area to sit down and eat. The new management did a great job cleaning it up. I had the burger which was a little overcooked but was so delicious that I didn’t even care. They had a great selection of beer and cocktails. The bartender was super nice. I always love going to a bar or restaurant where the staff doesn’t look like they don’t want to be there. I will DEFINITELY be returning!

(From Dive to Thrive). The New owners of this bar now known as «Cilento» are making all the right moves. New atmosphere, compeatly remodeled, and a great staff. All pointing in the direction for success. Just give this place a try between the food, drink selection and the welcoming atmosphere. how can you go wrong?

I’ve been to Bar Cilento four times and every time the food and service(at bar and at table) were very good. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, the meatballs are excellent, the ravioli yummy, and the beer list is not too shabby. The owners are visibly present and make an effort to see how your meal is.

Stopped in on our way to another restaurant and thought we’d give the new place a shot. Well very happy we did. Food was obviously fresh and homemade and delicious. Owners were warm and friendly and wanted to be sure our visit was pleasant and it was. We’ll be back to sample the homemade pasta. I recommend.

I was sad to hear Barton’s Pub had closed, but this was– [0% exaggeration] the best burger I have ever eaten in my life. Also my drink was dope. The owners were sweet, real friendly. Highly recommend and will be back soon.

Host did not know anything about the menu!!! The host rather talk to his friends at the bar than worry about the customers! Will not return to this place.

Convenient place. We walked there from work on a Wednesday for lunch. Had a nice burger and a beer. We had a nice time. We’ll put this on our lunch site list!

Excellent hanger steak. Good mixed drink called the Tahitian. If you don’t like dessert then try the bread pudding with rum sauce… it should be $ 12 and they sell it for $ 6. The apple cider is a must try.flavorful.

What a great addition to the neighborhood! Excellent, upgraded bar food, plus awesome salads(I had the Cobb with grilled chicken and my husband had the Caesar, which were both fresh and very large), pasta(some freshly made), and lots of beer, wine, and alcohol. We thought the food was excellent. The say they have«American fare with Italian flare» and they hit it right on the mark. The pasta was excellent, and so was everything else! The atmosphere was great! Not too noisy but fun(we came football as well as food) and not too dark. Def family friendly. The new owners gave the place a very nice facelift and it is clean and fresh. We sat at a table in the bar area and the service was great. Friendly, prompt, and accurate, even though the place was totally packed. Plus we saw many people we knew — it is great to have such a great, local spot! We will definitely be back!

Eh, was very interested in checking this place out. The bartender was slow and goofy, asked for another beer as he was standing right in front of me and he looked like a gazelle in headlights. Great customer service. Didn’t try the food and upon looking at their Facebook, I’m happy I didn’t, they have a picture of the cooks preparing food with no gloves.

Came to Cilento for my Birthday lunch today. Had the Autumn Ravioli as an appetizer. Unbelievably good! Although they were swimming in butter, they managed to stay light and delicate. The subtlety of flavors and texture were unmatched. Followed this up with homemade briaccole that was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten in any restaurant, anywhere. The pasta, sauce, and rolls were heavenly. This may be the best kept secret in the area. Cilento has only been open a short while, and I took a chance having my birthday lunch here with my wife, but we were not dissapointed. Not sure about the other food, but if you can get your hands on one of Gigi’s homemade dishes, you cannot lose. Ok, just had Gigi’s homemade Tira misu, holy crap! Add all of this to a bartender with a healthy knowledge of a nice assortment of beers, and you are going to have a great experience!

This was our 2nd visit… and had A wonderful experience… its Christmas Eve… my parents in from out of town… and can be picky. But my dad was impressed with his Manhatten… and he is VERYHARDTOPLEASE… we were impressed the bartender came to check and see if he was pleased. The service was great. food was delicious. My mom had the scallop special and is still talking about how perfectly prepared it was. Thank you and we plan to be regular visitors!!! Merry Christmas!!!

I was here over Thanksgiving and I’m looking forward to going back over the Christmas break! I came for lunch with my grandfather(not an un-picky eater) and we had a delicious time. We started with the calamari, which was had some kind of balsamic? Maybe? Awesomeness involved, and then I had the Cilento burger(um, yes more please) while he had the pasta fagioli. Despite«not» being hungry, he finished his soup, and then ate half my sweet potato fries! If that doesn’t say«stellar food» I don’t know what does. The four stars is mostly on me, because I didn’t get a chance to try their craft beers, and that seems to be a big part of the bar experience. In general though, service was great, food was amazing, and I’m excited to go back.

Great new addition to the local scene. Always hesitant to try new places in this area given the stellar track record of some of the other establishments, but I wasn’t disappointed. Nice selection of craft beers on draft and bottle, food is above average and reasonably priced, and atmosphere is approachable/relaxing. Staff welcomed me for my first visit and remembered me on my 2nd :) Some nice variables such as a jukebox and pool table make Cilentos a place that I will venture to now and again.

For a place that recently opened it has a lot of potential. I’ve visited Cilento twice and have had pleasant experiences both times. The owner is a real nice guy and it seems to be family operated or at at least the owner has a great deal of support from his family. The food is excellent and well priced. The bar is as well nicely stocked and both times had good craft beers on tap. I’ve never seen the previous place(Bartons) but I heard they really upgraded it. I myself find the bar and restaurant to have a charming interior. Overall I give this place 5 stars :)

Excellent food, relaxed, but fun atmosphere. I went last Sunday with friends to watch football they had 25% off select appetizers which was a cool little surprise — although I’d be happy to purchase any of the food we tried at full price because it is all worth it. We had the wings and had a chance to try all of the sauces, large portion and delicious sauces. Gigi’s meatballs were delicious and the burgers are fantastic! Good beer selection as far as craft beers — $ 3 domestic drafts during football too! I can definitely see this place being successful!

We heard good things about this new place so we went with friends for dinner. Took a while for waitress to come over. We asked for water and a soda. Waitress says ok and runs away. Comes back after a while and takes our food order. No water or soda for a while. We ask other waitstaff and they bring a bottle of water. 3 of 4 salads come out. We wait for 4th. Ask other waitstaff for 4th salad. Finally that comes out. We ask about the soda. We see another table nearby getting main course. They are saying ‘No we didn’t order that’ a couple times. We hear waitstaff mentioning what we ordered. We wave them over and ask if that’s our food. Yes it is. We ask for 2 forks that were taken away with the salad bowls. Waitress comes with 1. I take one off an empty nearby table. Food WAS good. But too much troubles with waitress. Loads of places for good food in the area. Don’t need to deal with this.

Went for dinner and had a nice experience. Very friendly service. The appetizers were delicious and the portions generous. The short ribs were excellent as well as the Quesdilla’s. The soup was hearty but salty. Service was a little slow at first, but once they realized we weren’t being served they were spot on! Looking forward to our next visit!

Craft cocktail menu super special! The food is great. We had the boneless wings, sprouts and fries… a little slow to get the food but all in all, Sunday football with the game on was great! We will be back!
