Our visit for Easter was great. Seated right away! Bloody Mary with cucumber infused vodka was amazing lots of choices for the buffet ! And our waitress Sarah was excellent !

Ate dinner there about 2 months ago. I will never go again. Had fish and chips. The fish was greasy and breading was spongy like it was just thawed out and put on a plate. The fries were the worst I think I have ever had… really gross. Asked for a liter of coors… got a liter of German beer. Waiter said they don’t have a liter glass of coors. I bought a bottle coors instead… wtf. Overpriced and pisspoor food.

Walked in nice soft music. The gentleman seating people was also waiter busboy, he did a amazing job. Walked into bathroom it was gross had second thoughts. But had to order cause the gentleman was so nice, I had a basic burger deluxe and it was amazing good, I was surprised considering the conditions of bathroom.

This place is everything that a local place should be… totally unpretentious, homey, nice stiff drinks, good beer selection, good pizza and wings. There food is no frills but good. Do not come in here looking for a dining«experience» or gastropub worthy food. My hubby especially loves their variety of German food.

Its a little out of the way, so this is a place where mostly locals come to eat and socialize. Its got an older feel to it, but has a lot of good qualities. They have live music some nights and rarely has there been a charge at the door. There’s a pool table near the fireplace(its seen better days, but is still fun), and an outdoor area for nicer weather. They’ve added more TVs over the years, so it’s an ok place to watch the games. The other side is the restaurant side, which has a lot of German items on the menu plus your typical bar food. The food is ok, nothing special, but not bad. The staff has always been pretty good. The Mozzarella sticks are some of the best I’ve eaten. Not the healthiest, but wow are they good!

The food here was ok, but the service was slow. very slow. The restaurant was not busy at the time. most of the tables were empty. We asked 3 or 4 times for silverware, I finally got up and got silverware myself. After they took our drink order, it took 20 – 30 minutes to finally get them. all we ordered were soda or water. When I handed them the credit card. we waited 15 minutes before they finally got the slip back to me so I could sign it and get out of there. In the mean time most of the restaurant was pretty empty and they seemed to have plenty of staff there. We experienced similar delays both times were were there. The food was ok. not great, but not bad either. I won’t be going back.

I felt it was time to update my review now that another year has passed. This place feels like an old shoe. It’s a very friendly comfortable place. At any given time u never know who ur going to run into, especially all the local people who are from the area and grew up here over the years .The staff here is sooo very nice. The food is good and during the summer the outside patio is a welcoming addition. In the winter u have a nice fire pit out front… There is a large parking lot and this place is centrally located and easy to find… Rolf’s is very much community oriented and always helps out with displaying the latest fund raising events. Trivia night here is always a blast, and challenging. It’s never too late to learn some interesting facts. The DJ Matt is funny and really makes trivia something special… All the bartenders are sweet and they work really hard along with the waiters and waitresses… Rolf’s always has many new varieties of craft beers on tap. It’s always changing weekly. There is also a huge selection of bottled beers and mixed drinks… Every week there are different bands and acoustical music playing especially on Fridays and Saturdays .Very rarely is there a cover charge… All year long there are themed nights and during the week they have food and drink specials… The owner Andy is very hands on and makes himself available to the cliental. In the past year I’ve seen major improvements as Rolf’s continues to grow. Come see for yourself…

I like this local hangout. The food is pretty heavy and fried but it’s German and bar food. I’ve heard they make a good port wine cheddar burger, I don’t eat beef so I can’t tell you either way, the pretzels look awesome and the cheddar beer soup was good. It’s a fun hang out by the bar and in the summer they have a good outside area/outside crowd. Thursday night trivia! And they have a pool table, but it’s slightly off balance.

Food was abominably, abysmally, laughably bad. The Margherita Pizza was entirely covered in at least a half-inch of white, gelatinous, rubbery, tasteless mozzarella with a few thin slices of tomato between the crust and the cheese.(See the attached photo). It was unbelievable. I can’t remember when I was last served something that looked less appetizing. The cheeseburger was ordered medium and came out raw-to-rare, and erred on the side of raw. The children’s meals weren’t accompanied by drinks nor were we asked. Although I’d be tempted to try Rolf’s German fare if it offered wiener schnitzel, the experience of what emerged from its kitchen when we ordered simple pub grub was embarrassing. Enough to not only give pause, but to steer us clear in the future.

Authentic German cuisine. They also have bar/pub food. Food could have been warmer when it arrived, and server always had to be called and never checked on us. Maybe it was just a bad day for them. Willing to give them another shot.

HORRIBLE! We went there as a group for a late night meal and cocktails… We walked in at 10:15 and the manager made it clear that they had a late night menu only. 20m later we ordered. Burgers. chicken sandwiches… fries…coconut shrimp…40m later the waiter emerged and apologized for the delay. Gave the group of 8 a small basket of chips. when we asked for another basket. He said that was all they had. 15m later food arrives. Those who ordered the burgers were fine. i needed a steak knife to cut my grilled chicken and my one friend had to send back is obviously burnt and very overcooked shrimp! No apologies from the manager, no compensation. NEVER again.

Saturday party of 3. Apps were cold. Service was distracted by large party they were hosting. Wings needed to be reheated and took quite a long time(suspect they were not remade but nuked) Kids’ food was good(mini sliders and shells & cheese). Brat sandwich came overwhelmed in huge roll but was otherwise okay. Strudel pastry was soggy and had too much cinnamon. It was also necessary to have the server correct the check because the first bill was incorrect.

After a year of preparing to throw my boyfriend a 30th Oktoberfest-themed 30th birthday party, the time came to order the German fare. After some research, I came upon Rolf’s, which was fairly close to my home in Edison, NJ. I spoke primarily with Tim, who was kind, patient, and attentive. After a few weeks of back-and-forth, I received the Oktoberfest catering menu in my inbox. I ordered the food with ease, and upon its delivery, I was ecstatic. The food was some of the BEST German food that I have ever had. My friend from Munich said that the food made her feel like she was at home… and she’s going home to real-life Oktoberfest is a week! Everyone of our guests raved about the food, and I am reveling in all of the leftovers — food heaven for a week! From the chicken and pork schnitzel to the potato pancakes to the wursts to the potato salad — EVERYTHING was delectable! Oh! And don’t even get me started on the cucumber salad!!! I want to swim in a pool of that cucumber salad with my mouth open!!! My only criticisms are that it was a bit pricey and that I had to follow up for the menu a few times. With that said, though, I would order from Rolf’s for every party — Oktoberfest-themed or not! My family, the birthday boy’s family, and I are planning a trip to Warren for some Rolf’s very, very soon!

Came here with a party of about 10 people from the office for lunch. The place was pretty empty when we walked in. The service was quite bad. I don’t know if the waitress was having a bad day, but she performed a magical vanishing act. By the time we sat down, she was no where to be found for a good 40 minutes. By the time, we ordered we had to wait another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Also, the utensils were stuck to the table — there was like a sticky residue on the table — kinda gross. However, my salmon dish was absolutely delicious when it did arrive. Thumbs up for food, but bad service and sticky tables.

We arrived around 9 pm on a Saturday evening and the place was busy with some kind of event. Our hostess was great and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was agreeable but rather sullen. The drinks we ordered arrived quickly. We didn’t have high expectations for this place, but the food was God-awful. I ordered a turkey burger and it literally tasted gamey. I regularly order turkey burgers when I’m out and never has one tasted and smelled like game meat. It was totally inedible and disgusting. Rolph’s is supposed to be known for their German cuisine, so my husband ordered sauerbraten. It was the worst. The beef literally turned into a powdery-like mess in your mouth, and the gravy was thick like glue. Maybe Rolph’s is a good place for drinks and appetizers, but we will never know. We won’t waste our money at Rolph’s again.

I’m from LA and I was just stopping for lunch on a drive from New York to DC. I’m really glad we decided to stop here. Rolf’s has great food, large portions, low prices, and excellent service. Alisha was our server and she was just the best. We had the potato pancakes and the buffalo chicken sandwich. The sandwich was massive and only cost $ 10. The views from the restaurant are beautiful. Be sure to sit by a window :)

Ja, Das is sehr gut!!! I am speaking German after walking out of this restaurant(may have been the 2 Liters of German beer though)!!! Great time, great food, great service. Listen, I am not sure why there are so many people are giving bad reviews here, but all of the food that I ate(and I stuck strictly to the German menu) was authentic and tasty. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was empty. As a result I think our food got extra loving care in the kitchen and it showed in the flavor. For an appetizer I has the Kaespaetzle(which is spaetzle slow cooked in a VAT of cheese). It was exactly the way it should be… rich, decadent and something that will lead me to have my first heart attack much earlier in life than I should. Listen, if I have to give up 6 weeks at the end of my life to enjoy this appetizer, it was a good trade. My second appetizer was the potato pancake. Yes, I lost another 6 weeks eating this but again, authentic and tasty. You could tell this was fried nicely and I enjoyed every greasy bite!!! My maincourse was the extremely hard to find Jagerschnitzel. WINNING!!! Authentic, tender, flavorful, loaded with the rich and decadent gravy. I highly recommend this dish!!! I am ready to throw on my Schweinsteiger jersey and go back 10÷5÷13 for the huge outdoor Oktoberfest. I will dance, drink liters of beer and enjoy the FANTASTIC food. Hey, I may even wear Liederhosen if it gets me back into this AWESOMERESTAURANT!!! PROBST!!!

This place is supposed to be german food and beer. Its basically a dive bar with german wanna be food. I have been there a bunch of times b/c it was local to me. Its the kind of place you go for a beer to hang out with some friends. the resturant is pretty big but the food is not good in my opinion. If you need to eat b/c you are drinking then please do so, its not so bad where its inedible, but its not worth spending money. German food: Rouladen– Stuffed rolled meat– Its a german dish that is very good when made right. Well they made this and it was so dry, if I poured a cup of water on it, it would have swelled up to the size it should be. As I ate it, I felt like it was sucking up my saliva and leaving my mouth parched. This was pretty gross. Spaetzle– Gross. something ouf of a package, and not even the good stuff. Potatoes– were salty and had a weird texture Saurbraten — This was another disappointment, the meat was tougher then shoe leather. Bottom line… I don’t feel like writing a bad review but their food isnt’ great when they try to make the german grub they claim they are known for. They can make a regular burger which isn’t any better then diner burgers. So you have been warned. Dive bar to hang out with friends when you are in the area.

Rolf’s is a local hangout. For years the locals knew that the food was horrible and to stick with the bar. The bar scene is friendly and laid back. They have a good selection of beers and I know from talking to the bartenders that Rolf’s regularly cleans the beer tap lines. Recently(within the past month or so) Rolf’s has hired a new executive chef. Because of this I have been ordering the food when I go to Rolf’s. The food has improved greatly. What Rolf’s offers is good, honest pub food and German food at reasonable prices. Recently I have enjoyed the jagerschnitzel and the buffalo wings. Both were awesome. I can honestly recommend that it is safe for all the local residents to come back and try Rolf’s food. It is very good.

Our first 2012 review! We were hungry and in the mood for a fairly cool, chill, inexpensive place where we could grab a few drinks and a light bite. Rolf’s really fit the bill. Tucked away in Warren most people have probably driven by it many times without even noticing. We came in and sat by the bar in a not so comfortable booth. It was dark and the hockey game was BLASTING but the crowd was good and the waitress and bartender provided really good service. We both ordered a burger, «M» got a Tavern Burger, «A» got the Port Wine Cheddar both about $ 8. They were really good. Cooked well done and still juicy and tender. They also have Hoegaarden on tap and serve it in the Hoegaarden Glass, $ 5 each. Very nice and unexpected. So with 2 beers each the bill was $ 40. Would we return? I say yes, I think Rolf’s has a new fan.
