This is a very nice restaurant. We got seated in a booth. They have curtains you can close for privacy. All of the food was perfect! The waiter was nice and very knowlegable of their menu. It was quiet and very nice. We will be coming back again!

My favorite go to Chinese food restaurant! The Mongolian beef chow mien, tomato beef chow mien, lettuce wraps with a side of garlic chili sauce, lemon chicken with sauce on the side, honey walnut prawns, Thai wings, wok charred veggies, the fried rice in the deli, garlic chicken, pea sprout salad. I could go on and on. They are a little pricey but soooo good and excellent customer service when I order to go from the deli.

Here I am, stuck in a hotel due to an emergency repair needed in my apartment. The reason this is relevant is because I was lying down after a bunch of running around today and suddenly I get a sinus blast of Chinese food. I’d seen Dave Wong’s driving into the hotel, so I figured that I should try it out. I ordered the Crab Rangoon, Honey Walnut Prawns, and Sweet and Sour Pork. I can’t pick just one. It was all absolutely awesome. Two hours after now, and I can still taste it all. I highly recommend this place to all lovers of Chinese food.

Went for lunch today. First impression was that this was way to nice for a quick lunch. The place is kind of dark but is nice and new. The lunch menu was a little confusing but I picked the #1 lunch special. All of the food was great and well prepared. Service was good. Next time I am passing by I will definitely stop by again.

Five stars. I love the food, the presentation and the outside patio I had to myself. The staff was friendly, helpful and couteous. The prices are very reasonable and the servings good sizes. Get here early because this place is always packed at dinner time. Will I go back? You betcha

I ate here for the first time and it was fantastic. I will be here again. The black pepper prawns was to die for. The bar tender was friendly made our drinks real good. Also the house noodles was good.

Dave Wong is a well-known restaurant in Stockton known for their overpriced and Americanized Chinese food. We went for a family of 9 on a weekend night. We got seated within 15 minutes. Service was pretty crappy. We never got our water refilled and our waiter barely checked up on us. We had our tea pot waiting to be refilled… for days. Never got refilled. I eventually forgot. If we called the waiter, he looked busy. If you ask another waiter(which we did), they’d look annoyed because they’re busily helping another table. I’ve worked in a restaurant before and I can spot crappy service and attitude easily. Overall, this restaurant experience was a very disappointing one. I’m even tempted to give this restaurant a one-star. The server waited until ALLOURDISHES were finished before he served us our lukewarm and cold entrees. I was beyond disappointed. If I wasn’t so hungry, I would have walked away. A table that got seated a few minutes after us got their orders 10 minutes before us. Garlic Chicken Very battered, but I loved it. Temperature was decent. Probably one of my favorite dishes! Beef Chow Fun This dish sucked. Bland and tasteless. Does oil count as a taste?! Probably one of the worst I’ve ever had. Lemon Chicken Wasn’t a fan. Black Peppered Prawns Expensive, but crappy. It arrived cold and hard. Like really hard and unappetizing. Pork Fried Rice Very bland and dry. The rice tasted undercooked. Sizzling Rice Soup My bowl had zero to no rice in it! The waiter did a horrible job dividing it up. The soup was flavorful though. Asparagus with Beef Very saucy, but the beef was good. Mongolian Beef Decently flavored! The beef was tender. Salt and Pepper Calamari Probably the coldest dish served, which was disappointing. It tasted good though! It took us about 10 minutes to even get our bill. Overall, this place is an mediocre and overpriced Chinese food place(compared to other Stockton places. It’s definitely affordable compared to the Bay). Would I go again? Debatable after this experience.

Usually stop by when I go through Stockton. So my review is on Deli side only. Love their fried rice, BBQ pork, and fried chicken(garlic chicken)! I don’t even bother going in the restaurant, but just do the take out. I really don’t feel like eating fried chicken with a knife and a fork in a nice restaurant. I must have their hot mustard with BBQ pork. Their mustard is hot, so careful how much you put it on. Their combo deals are at reasonable price and they stuff the container before closing the lid, so when you get home and try to put the food on the plate, you feel like you got x2 meal as you should have. I can definitely get at least 2 meals out of the combos.

My first time was my last! Rude service had issue with my food and the management talks back when i complained! I was truly disgusted and didnt want my food. I had hardly even touch my food and they didnt offer a discount or didnt even take it off the bill. Paid 10 bucks for dirty shrimp and old chicken! Didnt meet my expectations for a so called«high end«atmosphere!

The first thing to note is the beautiful venue. The ambiance is a little too nice for the food they serve which isn’t bad, but a little weird. Food can range from mediocre to decent depending on the dish. I’ve been several times and on the better visits I’ve gotten the asparagus and black bean sauce & the hot and sour soup. Today we tried the Tai Pan dinner for 4+ people which was more than enough for the 5 of us. There was a lot of food, but it wasn’t very good. Service was great; we accidentally spilled the pork fried rice and the waiter took care of it really quickly and replaced our fried rice free of charge. Everything was brought out very quickly.

We loved the atmosphere here and that you can have private tables with curtains… food is perfectly cooked.

This will be the last time I go here. Did take out of the deli. I have been going here since I moved to stockton and will even come down from Sac where I now live to get the take out. Got home with the dishes and first problem is there was a big black hair in the chow mein. The Egg Rolls were undercooked and the inside was a paste. The fried rice had no flavor to it and was barely eatable. The only thing that was good was the chicken lettuce wraps but were not as favorable as they used to be. Wont be coming down ever to eat here again. Goodbye Dave Wongs I will miss you.

(03÷13÷16) This is for the deli side and also a comparison to Fon Wong’s since they’re the only Chinese spots nearby. I ordered the Choose Your Own 3 Combo and went with the pork chow mein, garlic chicken, and foil chicken. Pork Chow Mein — not good to me. Too much bean sprouts and veggies not enough pork or noodles. Fon Wong has them beat there. Garlic Chicken — tasty and definitely better than Fon Wong’s. Foil Chicken — good but nothing special. Tie? So what it comes down to is the bang for your buck. Fon Wong’s gives you way more than Dave Wong’s for a similar price. And honestly the Pork Chow Mein at DW’s bothered me since it’s what I was really craving and they super skimped on it too. I’ll be returning to Fon Wong’s as my neighborhood to-go Chinese spot.

So, this is the second time receiving bad food and mediocre service from this restaurant! First off the food wasn’t even hot, it was luke warm at best and to top it off we ordered the beef and broccoli and szechuan beef which we asked to be well done and the meat on both plates was still partially red and not cooked thoroughly, even the spring rolls were cold! The customer service here is very hit and miss and last night it was definitely miss, the waiter was not attentive at all and it seemed that there was a lot of confusion between servers. This place seriously needs to get more organized and the waiters need to learn to listen to the specifics of how their customers would like their food prepared because right now if you want to eat here I seriously recommend to just go to the take out portion of the restaurant or find somewhere else to go because Dave Wong’s is severely losing its credibility!

My favorite place to eat… I never order off he menu, always make stuff up or ask the staff what are the favorites. Eating there is best bit food to go is also a nice option. Food is made fast and fresh. I like the side entrance into the bar and that sitting area. It’s less formal and the bartenders along with Jenifer who run that area are a hoot. Mongolian beef chow mien and mushu pork are two of mY favorites The restaurant itself is great too ESP for large parties or private meetings. Hey have many rooms that can be closed off and provide a great atmosphere to hammer out a business deal or talk with someone semi privately. In addition to that if u have kids that have a hard time sitting still, this works too(as long as they are still quiet) Enjoy

After countless times of driving by this place and saying«Hey, we should eat there,» we finally made into this establishment. The staff here are very friendly. We were seated quickly. Food was delicious and fresh tasting. Will definitely be back!

Dave Wong’s is a Stockton institution… I don’t remember a time when it wasn’t around. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good… sometimes even great. The service and timing need to be improved… The last 2 or 3 times we have visited Dave Wong’s one of two things has happened… either the server visited our table only a handful of times during our meal, or the food came out lukewarm. All of this from a restaurant that usually ends up costing near 50 bucks for two people. I think I will be sticking to takeout if I need Dave Wong’s from now on…

Quite disappointed with Dave Wong’s tonight. Recently Wong’s has been our go to place for family Chinese dining. We were all looking forward to dinner tonight. Instead of ordering the family dinners, we ordered six individual items… Chinese chicken salad, garlic chicken, chicken fried rice, crab rangoon, pork chow mein and fried prawns. Their Chinese chicken salad is the best in town. The chicken fried rice was ok, the crab rangoon was good. The pork chow mein had way too much bok choy in it. The garlic chicken was greasy and had too much batter. Likewise, the prawns could have been larger with less batter. But what really deserved the two stars tonight was the temperature of the food. The garlic chicken and prawns were barely warm. I don’t know if our server left them setting in the kitchen too long before he brought them out or they served us items that had been previously cooked. Either way I was not real happy with dinner tonight. The table service is hit or miss. Tonight it was halfway decent. We had a younger server. Next time we want for Chinese food we will reconsider where to go. I want my food HOT!

Nice restaurant. Good date night place if you are in the Stockton area. The booths in the restaurant are great for a more intimate setting, you can chops to close the curtains on them if you wish to. The rest of the dining room is open with nice seating as well. I would say that my wok charred vegetable where delicious. My only hang up on this place is my salt and pepper prawns where not very salty or peppery they had a tiny touch of spice but pretty bland, over call I wouldn’t rush back to order them again. That is why I knocked off the stars. They could probably earn at least 4 stars but I just have a hard time because my entrée is entirely what I’d hope for. Over all service is alright, the restaurant itself is nice. Some of the food just fell a bit short this time I would possibly try again with a different entrée choice.
