Great Burgers and Grilled Chicken Salad! They have a good variety of american and Chinese food… jalapeño chicken is very good if you like spicy.

Katie and I stopped in to pick up lunch for the office. We’re working on branching out and trying more restaurants in the area and this is a solid spot downtown. There are a lot of options and it kind of reminded me of a food court. I ordered the Pork Chow Fun and was pleased to see they have a wide variety of items on their menu. I was tempted to try one of their specials but I have a weakness for the thick rice noodles.
Our order was taken by a really nice woman at the front and all of our food came out very fast and piping hot. I will note that they take cash or debit cards. We were in and out within about 10 – 15 minutes after ordering and ready to dig in at the office.
I ended up with the chow fun and an order of dumplings. The dumplings were very crispy and had a great filling inside. The Chow Fun was good but lacked flavor. I’m used to my Covington, KY favorite Amerasia and this just didn’t measure up. However, this was a great lunch and I’m glad we stopped in to give it a try.

Came to this place on a whim when Rachel and I were searching for a lunch place around Stockton that we hadn’t already tried. It was pretty easy to find, right on the corner of Weber and Sutter. I can see how parking would be tough on a busy day, but for today it was pretty easy. Got a spot right in front of the place — although the meter was broken (sssshhhhh).
Didn’t expect the place to be as big as it was on the inside! And you know what else is big… their menu. They have Chinese food and burgers and sandwiches and jalapeño poppers and shrimp and more! Personally, being the boring plain eater that I am, decided to go with chicken strips and fries. Fries were meh, reminded me of the Ore Ida freezer bag fries. The chicken strips were good — was happy to find that they were «normal» crispy coating versus the special coating that a lot of Chinese fried chicken uses. My friends got the garlic chow mein and chicken potstickers along with beef potstickers and another chow mein dish that I can’t remember the name to. The potstickers were ON POINT. I had one of each and they were delicious, plus you get six in an order for $ 3.75. Not sure if that is a good deal or not but they were delicious. Overall, good experience. Nice woman working the front counter and there was a decent crowd for lunch. Will definitely try this place out again for a burger or something different and update my rating.

Service use to be great, people always friendly, etc… well lately this has not been the case. Today I ordered a burger, fries and small drink. Reasonably priced for a downtown area lunch. The woman advised me it would be 10 – 15 minutes. As my office is just around the corner, I always show up a few minutes before the first given time to make sure I can get my food hot.
So i get there, and there is no one in front… a minute or two goes by and the owner finally comes up front, and goes to hand me my food… which is already sitting in a bag, no where near the warmers or anything… The last few times i have been there my food is already cold. I dont know about you, but i do not like cold french fries. Even when I bring up that the fries are cold she starts talking about it being done for a few minutes.
A restaurant should not tell you that your food will be done in 15 minutes, if they cook it and let it sit there for 10 of those 15 minutes.
The kicker: there was only one person inside eating… so being busy is NOT an excuse…
Definitely will not be buying lunch there anymore… what a waste of 6 bucks… smh

I love Downtown Deli and eat here at least 3 times a month. The menu isn’t huge, but it is diverse… delicious Chinese dishes (def try the Mushroom Chicken rice plate or Pad Thai) to THE juiciest burgers (so surprisingly good with grilled onions — I voted it Best Burger for Best of San Joaquin!), sandwiches, ice cream, and daily specials.
If you order a burger, make sure you get extra napkins because you’ll need ‘em. Call ahead at lunch time or you’ll wait…

Well, I’ve been going to this place for about 2 years now (I work next door almost). I have to say that I love their food. I almost always call in my order to pick up and it’s mostly from their Chinese menu. I’m not too crazy about the American food as most of it is fried and I tend to stay away from grease as much as I can. But they have something for everybody. Even donuts and stuff for those who like to have coffee and donuts first thing in the morning. It usually gets really packed at lunch so it is recommended that you call your order in about 15 – 20 minutes before picking it up. They also prepare the orders without rice (for those who need to stay away from carbs). The lady (owner) is quite a character and is very fast in attending to you. In general, all of the employees are very nice and attentive and it makes the experience so much pleasant. Oh, and you have to try their Thai Chicken with Peanut Butter… soooo good.

This place has a lot of options. From Chinese food to American food, they pretty much have it all. My favorite has to be their burgers! Super juicy and tasty! Their food is always hot, fresh and made to order. They have great prices and friendly service! What’s not to love!

I’ve only tried but a few dishes during lunch time, but what I have tried was very good. food was always hot and fresh. my personal favorite is the Thai spicy chicken.

Was recently informed of another order mixup at this establishment. Another one of my coworkers order a burger but was given chicken instead. It has become clear that the cooks cannot distinguish one food from another. It makes me wonder what else could they be serving. Even if you’re starving, run the other way as fast as you can from this place.
