Adult Food was good once it was corrected to be what we ordered. The service, however, was awful !! Either our server was brand new or we were being held captive Kids Food Arrived with ours but was cold as ice(pasta) We received our appetizer 48 min after walking in and our main meal over 1 hour after arriving The couple at the next booth across from us arrived 15 min after us and received their app and meal 30 min before us Too bad as we received this as a recommendation from a friend and enjoyed the first time, but this was so abysmal that we will not return It ruined our daughters(2) birthday dinner ! The manager needed to step in much earlier when we made the other server aware of our displeasure

honestly just had the worst experience here. our waitress was AWFUL. she messed up everything possible, from the starter salads, the meals, all the way down to splitting the check. the only reason I bought a 7 dollar dessert was to make myself feel better. I recommend the Reeses chocolate pie. NEVERAGAIN tho

We are regulars to Red Rock. We order take out, delivery and eat in. The owner is very accommodating and walks around to check in with the customers. You can’t go wrong with the boneless and bone in wings. Especially the kickin teriyaki and atomic. Also, the salads are delicious and huge portions. The paninis are also fantastic. The Rachel is our favorite. The service is always friendly but food can be a bit slow. We also enjoy their $ 5 seasonal sips. Red Rock is a great family restaurant that we really enjoy. It’s disappointing that many of the ratings are so low.

The food is pretty good, but the service is bad. If you live in Mansfield, you come anyway. Food wise, it’s decent for the area. You do need to stick to typical pub food. Don’t bother with the 20 page menu. Get a sandwich and you’ll be ok. The fries are good. The service is slow and inattentive no matter who you get. Be prepared to wave your server down constantly and you’re all set. You will not get your food at the same time as the rest of your party and it will take forever. The worst part about this place is that they charge for everything and anything. Don’t want that ranch salad dressing that comes with your salad? Don’t think you can switch it free. Hate bacon but want tomato instead? Nope. Need more than one tiny salsa cup? Charged. The condiments all come in tiny little cups and you can’t get more or switch them around(even if you want a less expensive one) free. The charge for an extra salsa, about one tablespoon, is $ 1, for example. It’s ridiculous.

Let me start off with the good. The pizza here tastes really decent. There, now that’s done. I have been here twice now. I had a bad first experience, but the pizza did taste decent so we finally gave it another chance a few months later. This second awful experience confirmed my opinion enough to leave a review. On my first visit, we ordered one large pizza(white, with tomato, ricotta, and broccoli), a small buffalo wing order, two kids meals, and my husband got a large specialty salad. We waited a VERY long time for our drink order to be taken, and then it took about a half an hour to have our dinner order taken. Dinner finally came out 45 minutes after that. I have two small children, and by the time our food came, they were pretty antsy. Fortunately the pizza was good(except for the broccoli being both undercooked and burnt since it hadn’t been blanched prior). My husband’s salad was disgusting. The lettuce was brown, slimy, and wilted. He took two bites, and gave up on it. Or waitress asked if he wanted it wrapped, and he told her he honestly couldn’t even eat it because it was awful. She had the manager come over, and he offered him $ 3 off the $ 13 salad, saying my husband had eaten some of it. I’m not exaggerating when I say he had TWO bites. At this point I was insulted, because we weren’t even going to ask to have it taken off, but to be rude about it was aggravating. So I insisted that the whole thing be taken off, since that’s what any other decent manager who could see the customer was unhappy would do. He offered $ 6 off. I informed him that I was not haggling over food like a used car dealership, and left exact change for the bill minus the price of the salad.(Yes, I tipped the waitress separately). After a few months, we really wanted decent pizza and decided to give it another shot. Went in, were seated immediately. 15 minutes before we got drink orders taken or menus. Drinks did come out quickly after they were ordered, and we put in our food order. We ordered an app of southwest rolls, a large taco pizza, a turkey grinder, and a kids meal. Twenty minutes until the app arrived, it was very small(esp for the price!) and burnt. We ate it and didn’t complain, the flavor was okay and would have been better if not burnt. Our pizza took 45 minutes to come out. During that time, I used the rest room with my daughter and there was feces smeared all over the toilet and floor. I let someone know the bathroom needed to be cleaned badly. After the pizza arrived, my husband’s grinder took another 10 minutes. At this point we told them not to worry about the kids meal, because we wouldn’t have time to eat it. 10 minutes later, they brought the kid’s meal out in a to go box and said they took it off the bill. The food tasted good, but during our wait the waitress avoided us. She apologized for the wait when the food came, and also wrote sorry on our receipt, so she def knew the wait was unreasonable. Yet while we were waiting she didn’t come over to refill our drinks, maybe grab my two year old some crackers, or to apologize for the lengthy amount of time. They acted like taking the kids meal off the bill was a favor, but I know it’s only because they were already making it and would just be throwing it out. While we were there, we saw FOUR orders of prime rib go back. Two other tables besides that asked for the manager and complained about their food quality and their wait. The table behind us could not believe they were charged $ 8 for an app of 4 small mozzarella sticks, and they also sent their sandwiches back. I think that part of the problem is that the restaurant is attempting to do things it can’t do well, and other areas are suffering. Their pizza and wings, and small apps, taste good. The rest of their food is garbage. They can’t make entrees or fancy salads to save their lives. They need to trim down the menu and also adjust their prices to be more reasonable. The specialty pizzas are priced fair, but the apps and plain pizzas are ridiculous. I think if they focused on a small core menu of a pizzeria, rather than attempting to be a nicer sit down restaurant, and they worked a LOT on customer service, they could be successful. There are not many good pizza places in this area and they could corner the market, esp if they expanded their delivery area. We will not be dining in again, and its debatable whether we will order pizza to go. We might just make the trip to Willington pizza, because at least they have their shit together.

Had a terrific lunch today. Most of the tables and booths were filled for a busy Friday afternoon. I enjoyed my portobello chicken grilled panini! Grilled to perfection. The food quality was very good. My tossed salad was tasty as well. My other two guests raved about their paninis too. My mother’s fajita soup hit the spot she mentioned. All on all, the atmosphere was pleasant, our waiter was very good. I’ll certainly be back soon!

I’ll start by saying the good things, the food was very good and good portions. We ordered 10 boneless wings but we got more than 10, delicious. The problem here was that we waited over 45 minutes to get our food, there were people that got there right after we did and got served and left before we even got our food, I said something to the waitress but she said that it wasn’t her fault, I don’t blame her but I told her it was my only way of communicating since I couldn’t go and ask the cook about our food. I thought we were going to have a discount after waiting so long for our food, or at least an apology for the wait but nothing. Not a restaurant that I would want to visit again.

5÷7÷15 ***UPDATED*** Judging by the most recent comments, looks like it slipped further down the tube. Absolutely would NOTRECOMMEND, wondering if the owners check the reviews on Unilocal.Eventually the food karma is going to put them out of business. Don’t waste your money on this place. Yesterday I had one of the greatest grinders(subs) in my life, at a small Greek place in the New London area. Perfect roll, perfect ratio of meat to veggies, you could taste the quality. Prices were half of what Red Rock charges! I have no hope that Red Rock will ever get better. It’s a bar first and foremost, with a captive clientele — UCONN. They have no incentive to improve. End of update. You’ve been warned. ######## EARLIERREVIEW ######### $ 15.00 for a tuna salad sandwich with fries, you gotta be kidding me??? And it was not very good, reeked of foul smelling onions. Service was terrible, yes they were crowded, but had to ask the server to clear the table, more than once. They couldn’t hold a candle to Shady Glen! Where a tuna sandwich is less than $ 8.00 with fries, and doesn’t smell bad. Service, price, value, and quality = zero Competition urgently needed.

First of all, a disclaimer: A friend of mine did the graphic design, store front, menus, overall«image» of the place, and he did an incredible job. Too good. It makes Red Rock look much, much better than it really is. There, I said it. Now, on to my experience. Thanks to my buddy’s design, I was quite impressed when I first sat down. From the awnings and window graphics, the interior, to the way-too-extensive menu that was longer than an Alexander Solzhenitsyn novel, this place looks top shelf. It’s not. I imagine one of those tv shows where Chef Ramsey or Robert comes in and gets dizzy looking at the menu. They had to print it in six point type just to fit all of the offerings. Really? Can’t you pare it down to a core menu you actually do well? For starters, it’s essentially pub food. Very expensive pub food, and if the pub was an entire food court at Mall of America. I have to start with my app, of course. Something called Buffalo Calamari. Sounded intriguing. I love hot sauce on anything. Except on a bag of rubber bands from Staples. I literally began picking the breading off the so-called calamari because at least that was quite delicious and crispy in the hot sauce, dunked in what I can only assume was blue cheese. I found myself weeping for the squid who gave their lives for this dish. I even found myself weeping for Staples rubber bands. So let’s do lunch… I ordered a gyro(under the«Lamb, Chicken & Beef» chapter 18 on the menu), but for some reason I couldn’t actually get a lamb gyro. You know, the way a gyro is actually prepared. Chicken or beef. I still went for it, because at this point my head hurt from trying to read the menu. It didn’t come with anything, so I paired it up with an $ 8 side of five onion rings. Don’t let them fool you… they’re not really onion rings… they take one large onion and cut it into five one-inch thick slices. It was actually pretty tasty, served on a paper towel roll or something, but I could actually only eat one of them. With a knife and fork. I’m not kidding. The gyro was, uh… okay? It was just some slices of beef covered in tomatoes, lettuce and yogurt, wrapped in a grilled pita, which was then wrapped in a foil-lined pouch advertising something called«Kronos Authentic Gyros.» It was neither authentic, nor a true gyro, but honestly, it didn’t taste too bad, mainly because the yogurt sauce and stuff made you forget it wasn’t really an «authentic» lamb gyro. Lunch cost me $ 30. Before I reluctantly tipped the server(it wasn’t her fault). Bottom line… if I were a UConn student and had Husky Bucks, I guess there could be far worse places in which to waste my money. But this place is expensive, it’s not very good, but it’d be GREAT if Mom & Dad were paying the bill.

Food was okay, only ordered a white pizza which came out as described and expected, oily and cheesy, friends’ food all looked good. Portions are big. Water came out quick enough. They were polite when we made them wait as people had not arrived yet. Food did not come out all at once as is expected, took around 7 minutes for everyone to get their food. Food is fine, tip was still at 20%. However, my real problem was with the service. Yes we were a party of 16 with individual receipts, but the waitresses didn’t print them all out at once, didn’t take all the receipts+cash/card at the same time and then made us sort out the receipts and each persons card, then once swiped and paid, made us sort out each again amongst ourselves. Tip went to 15%. Received 3 receipts back which was confusing but all were for one order. I had 2 receipts, didn’t see the second one and had to ask to swipe my card again. Friend asked twice for a receipt and did not receive any, couldn’t pay then; tip lowered. Also heard the waitress arguing with a chef, awkward. Overall food is fine but service is lacking. Would not come back as first choice.

Everything is very slow here. First, it took about 20mins before we got our water. I ordered New England clam chowder, that took another 30mins to come out. It tasted like potato soup AND it was cold. That’s crazy. Does the chief hate their customers or something? Then they messed up my order of wings… I asked for bone but they brought me boneless… I had to wait an additional 15mins for my wings. Finally got my check table, and I was charged for boneless. But that got fixed. Overall not happy but I tipped anyways cause I felt bad for the waiter. The mango habanero wings was good tho.

The only pro is they accept husky bucks and portions are massive. My boyfriend likes it. Anyone without taste might hight it. I’m Greek and refuse to have the Greek food again. One other reviewer was on point with the gyro being over processed and not fresh. The burgers are tolerable but don’t stray too far from the processed bar food.

Two visits and overall… unimpressed. Starting off the best thing would be all of the homemade breads. The warm loaf that was delivered to the table before the meal as well as the sandwich bread appeared to be crafted in house and were quite good. Unfortunately that sums up the good stuff. Having been a connoisseur of the«good cheesesteak» I can vouch that this cheese steak was not good. The bread to meat ratio was way off and I felt more like I was eating a roll with some meat in it, not a sub. We ordered an appetizer of the onion rings. Do yourself a favor and do not order the onion rings. Unless you’re a fan of onion rings fresh out of the freezer and right into the fryer. No onion flavor, no onion taste. Just breading. $ 8 for 5 tasteless rings was $ 8 too much. My wife had the veal parm the meat was tender but again tasteless, the sauce a little bit too sweet for her liking. Buyer beware! The dessert menu does not have prices for good reason. The slice of piña colada cake was 9 dollars and the molten fudge cake was 7.50. WHENWEFIGUREDOUTTHEBILLDESSERTALONEWAS $ 25FORTWODESSERTSINTWO soft DRINKS… ouch. The desserts were delicious but not $ 16.50 delicious. The wait staff is hit or miss. During dinner service we over heard several complaints of slow service and orders«gone wrong». The menu is HUGE and many items sound delicious, but the prices are a bit high for this Foodie.

Perfectly acceptable bar food. Extensive menu. Service was quite decent. I’m surprised by the supremely negative reviews. I went there for a late lunch and it wasn’t deserted but not terribly crowded. The décor is nothing to write home about for sure but I didn’t have any expectations. The waitress was prompt and friendly. The Old Bay boneless wings were really great and piping hot. The roast beef grinder wasn’t amazing nor was the buffalo chicken wrap but they were more than satisfying. From the menu, I did get the idea that there was a bit of an identity crisis going on. Mexican, Italian, Greek specialties all in one place: I wasn’t expecting authentic anything. We just moved into their delivery area so we are trying that out soon. I think the bashers need to adjust their standards. You aren’t going to get fine dining, you aren’t getting family made recipes, they don’t have a schtick or claim to fame. It’s a pub-ish joint in a college town: just relax, eat your bar food and have a beer.

Just OK. We stopped in yesterday around 11:45am for a quick lunch. Service was good. Place was fairly empty but given the day and time I guess that was fine. They get only 3 stars because when I order a sandwich with NO onions, and I get onions it’s annoying. I didn’t say anything but when the bill came the order said no onions so it was the kitchens fault. No excuse since there was only about 10 people in the place. Prices were a bit high also for bar food. Would I go back? Maybe. In the mean time, let’s pay attention to details in the kitchen.

I’m disappointed that i cannot rate this place any lower. Honestly, even if I was able to rate it 0 stars, it still just wouldn’t satisfy me. First of all, let’s talk about the pros. There are none whatsoever. I can’t think of a single positive thing about this place. Now for the never ending part, the cons. This place is literally less than a 10 minute drive from where I was staying and they took over an hour to deliver the pizza. The pizza must have been sitting around for a good 45 minutes because it was barely even warm by the time it got to my door. Apparently the delivery guy had a bunch of other garbage on top the box too because it was partially caved in, causing the thick bubblegum-like mozzarella to stick to the cardboard. I didn’t really mind that too much though because the pizza itself was so beneath my standards and so unappetizing that I couldn’t finish it. It wasn’t even cooked evenly either. Half of the pie was still solid white underneath, while the other half seemed about normal. How some reviewers were able to give this sorry excuse for a food establishment five stars is beyond me. They must be used to some really disgusting food. I’d have better luck finding something more appetizing in a toilet bowl. I know what good pizza is like, I’ve had it from all over, and this is definitely among the worst I’ve had. The owners should be ashamed calling this a restaurant, and some of these reviewers should be even more ashamed of themselves for thinking food like this was even acceptable.

Stopped in here for a glass of wine and an app early evening. The décor is fairly nice, lighting a tad bright, no music hence poor atmosphere. Barmaid was pleasant, the food surprisingly good. Not a bad place to stop for a bite. but I left feeling that despite their efforts, something was missing…

Not bad. Prices here are decent for what you get and the service is just fine. Next time I come here, I’m going to try one of their calzones. The person I ate with ordered one and it was certainly sizeable!
