Baja is an okay place to eat. The food is good but the staff is never friendly and the food is overpriced for what it is.

While it seems more main steam and is staffed by Uconn students the food here is definitely above average. It maintains its status as a go to Mexican place when I’m feeling the urge. When weighing Mexican options on campus you are forced between here and moes and Baka café wins out every time.

After graduating UCONN, there is nothing I miss more than Baja Café. The owner, a well as the employees are all so friendly and patient with the drunk crowd they get after the bars close. I would take this over Chipotle or Moes every time. Awesome place.

The place is gross! It looked like the entire UCONN football team just ran through there. The food is not that great either, and with the staff’s attitude including the owner I don’t think they will do well. I liked the concept too, too bad!

This place is amazing! I love their breakfast, lunch and dinner. If I didn’t seem creepy I would probably have all 3 here in the same day. Baja has catered 3 events for a group I’m associated with, they hit it out of the park every time. I think I was most excited about the leftovers. The veggie chili keeps really well. I am all about this whole delivery business! Nothing better than Netflix, pjs and Mexican food you don’t have to pick up(take that Moe’s). Overall a great place, foodie me highly recommends it.

I have to post an update because TWICE they were closed thirty minutes before their already shortened posted summer hours. NOTCOOL, dudes. There is like no food for a mile around, so once I got all the way there and discovered they were closed, I was basically fated to starve for the night. If you’re going to close early, as least mention as much in your hours and your answering machine!!!

Unilocal lists this as a gluten free restaurant. It is NOT. There is nothing on their website or menu to suggest that it is. Maybe the food is OK. I did not have anything to eat because the server said«there was gluten in every dish». Even though I suspected that was not 100% true we did not order. UPDATE — They do have gluten free options and they were explained on our second visit. I had the taco salad and it was fine. I am no partial to eating off of plastic. So I would say they are more focused on students and take out.

Quesadillas are incredible, especially with grilled chicken. Bacon, egg, and cheeses are great for breakfast. Not a fan of their salsa. Prices are reasonable. Love Baja way more than Moe’s.

Baja is the best place on campus to grab a bite. Nothing else comes close to it, sober at least…

Love their quesadillas! Everything is fresh and delicious! Price is great, weekly specials even better! Personally not a fan of their chips, too salty, but everything else on the menu is absolutely scrumptious! Loyal to Baja, F@&K Moe’s!

Good stuff! Best Mexican food in the area! Their employees are also not forced to yell«Welcome to Baja Café» when you walk in the door!

I’m going to say that this place was«fine». It’s not incredibly authentic Mexican but closer than plenty of other places I’ve been. My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch. It was served up quickly by a friendly cashier. The salsas were pretty darn good but the overall experience was nothing special. This isn’t a place I’m dying to get back to but it is a perfectly fine lunch joint. Tiny inside though. I’d take my food out next time with plenty of salsa to go.

This place is unbelievably good. The food is fresh and delicious. The people who work there are so nice. You can really tell they care about the customers. The food is so delicious. Everything I have ever gotten there is phenomenal. I am never disappointed. I cannot say enough about how awesome this place is. It really is amazing.

Good Mexican is hard to find in Connecticut. Unless you’re in Storrs. Baja Café is authentic, delicious and affordable. Not a chain, all of their menu is prepared fresh. I love this place! Bring your appetite! We need more locations around the State.

I’ve been in Storrs for almost two years and have never been to this place. So on a late Wednesday afternoon in June I strolled in to the shop to try it out. I have not been very impressed with the Mexican food here in CT or anywhere close to Storrs. This place really impressed me. From walking in I could feel like this was a cool place. It’s low-key ambiance and casual style really felt like the burrito holes I can find in California. There were two workers working. The gentleman taking my order was attentive and friendly and very patient with my indecision of what I wanted. The menu is simple enough. I think the hard choice was deciding what I wanted to try. I went with a burrito bowl with chicken, chili, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, cilantro, and salsa. I also ordered an ice tea. I got free chips while waiting as well. The order was pretty quickly assembled. The ice tea was larger than I expected, I think it was a 16 oz. I was very impressed with the salsa, tasted just like back home. The burrito bowl itself was well put together with high quality ingredients and great proportions of all the ingredients, not too much rice, not too little chicken; just right. It was very filling and satisfying. So super glad I finally tried out this place. What I ordered is more expensive than what I usually get at the Student Union, but the quality and authenticity is so much better that the extra couple of dollars is totally worth it.

Amazing quality fast service clean joint. Friendly staff. Loved it. We’re moving our kid to UConn and after moving him, eating here took the separation pain away.

Have to say, Baja delivers every time! Just got another pork burrito, with vegetarian chili both were just amazing. take it from me, having lived in San Diego for many years, this place is the real deal. I like the vibe in here too, nice people working and they always have good music playing. Always people hanging out there as it’s a good environment for that. On these cold winter days, this place makes me feel like I’m at the beach in San Diego!
