We went there once 3 years ago and found the burger greasy the bun soggy and unflavorful. So all decided at that point we were not interested in visiting again. The problem may have been too big a burger on too light a bun. Perhaps a more dryer wider bun? don’t know and if i did would open a place next door… not interested…

Awesome burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes. This month is Slim Jim Beef Jerky & Oreo mud pie & cricket protein shake. Yes, Cricket in a Shake! They also have a customer loyalty program where $ 1 = 1 point and when you get to 100 point you get $ 5. Special events offer 2 for 1 points, etc.

The burger was better than the standard fast food burger — that’s for sure. Maybe better than 5 guys but here’s the thing. It took 20 minutes to get it. I know it’s cooked to order but there’s no way I can afford a 20 minute wait to get a burger for lunch. The fries are pretty standard. So the two stars is not so much for the food but a business plan that is doomed for failure… at least in locations where people have to work and have tight schedules.

I eat there all the time and it’s a great meal every time. I usually get the shakes which are bomb. Onion rings and fries are usually on point. The chef seems to enjoy the cooking and feeding people which give a homey feeling to me

I’ve wanted to try this place for a little while now as I work nearby but never got the chance. I finally was able to give it a try today and I have to say I’ve definitely had better burgers elsewhere. If you’ve never been before like me, let me explain the setup. It’s a small burger chain that have a variety of specialty burgers and chicken sandwiches plus they have speical burgers of the month which looks really good. Typically a burger can vary from 5 – 7 dollars depending on what kind of specialty burger you get. I ordered the Chipolte burger to go but when I got back to my desk at work and I opened the burger it was just a double cheese burger. So 1 star off for messing up my order. I took a bite of my burger and found it to be bland as well with a ton of onions piled on. No bueno. The fries were very bland, not too salted, so it’s prob best to order the onion rings or chips although those could possibly be bland as well. So another star off for bland fries. The final star is that I ordered it to go but when the burger was finally done(took about 15 minutes) he gave it to me as dine in. My guess is he possibly could have messed up my order and gave me the wrong meal so I’ll give it another chance but it’s so sad that my first experience was so bad. Maybe next time.

I live down the street and eat here whenever I’m craving a burger. I am a creature of habit and stick with the cheeezy burger, which has always been great. It can be a little greasy, but in my opinion, no more than a Five Guys. It’s a large portion, so I usually only have the burger, unless I have someone to split fries with. I’ve had a couple of the shakes, and they’re ok, but not worth it for me. Everything there is made to order, which is great, but that does take time. I’m usually here later in the evening/night so there aren’t too many people, and the food comes relatively quick. It’s nice that they are open later on the weekends, and if you call in advance to let them know you’re coming, they’ll stay open later for you. I think that’s a great touch! I used to be a big Five Guys lover, but the one in Canton can’t quite compete with this place, though their cajun fries still rock.

My kids raved so much about Jakes I just had to try it. It was mixed for me. To be honest, the hamburger pattie was a little… crumbly I guess is a good word. The taste was fine, and the texture wasn’t enough to make it inedible, it was just odd. The fries were good, nice and crispy, just the way I like them. The big thing I discovered was the irish nachos! They fry fresh potato chips and smother them in delish nacho topping! I have never had nachos like this before and it was a pleasant surprise how good they were. The nachos are a reason to go back… maybe next time I get a chili dog.

I had a long and tiring meeting out this way and skipped lunch. I was glad to see this joint on my ride back to the highway. It was pretty good. The onion rings had a good crisp to them. I hate when you bite into an onion ring and the onion does not bite off and stays behind with the other half of the ring. These rings did not do that. The burger overall was well executed but my only complaint was the bread. It was stale and could have made the experience so much better if they had grilled it. We would not have noticed the staleness and it would have enhanced an already delicious burger. I did not get a shake but the hubby did — the selection was daunting but his choice was very yummy.

Nasty soggy burger. Go to McDonald’s a couple of feet from there. Shakes over priced Chips are hyped you go to a burger place for a burger not potato chips.

I don’t know if it’s a Boston thing, but 4 pieces of bacon is overkill. Being that everything looks made to order, the wait wasn’t any longer than I expected. In fact, it was a bit shorter. Bottom line this is a decent, friendly(very friendly!) place. Is a burger, fries, and milkshake worth $ 13? Not at this place. It’s your average burger joint and should be priced as such.

The burgers are actually good, sort of like a Johny rockets burger. But they take way too long. Wouldn’t go back due to the 20−30min waits the last few times I went

I stopped in with a friend for lunch one day. Wanted to try something new and the menu looked good online so we figured it was worth a shot. There were 3 other parties in at the time — 1 already eating and two waiting for their food. My friend and I each ordered milkshakes and our meal. The milkshakes took a few minutes, and came out. They were sufficient. Not mind-blowing and not bad, but not something I would necessarily get again. Then came… «the wait.» What had been quoted as food being ready in about 10 – 15 minutes(perfect, can eat there on our lunch break) turned into a forty five minute wait. At the point when we reached a half hour, we asked if they could bag our stuff to go instead of dine-in. After the following fifteen minutes, the food finally came out. The temperature of my onion rings certainly didn’t represent the amount of time I waited… they were nearly cold. My hot dog tasted fine, but that was cold too. I have no plans to come back here.

So yummy! The burgers were delicious and so were the onion rings. Pretty standard fries. The people who work there are really nice Some of the reviews are true about not getting everything in their order. I didn’t get the sauce for my rings and sauce… oh well, next time I will just check the bag before leaving. Overall, a good experience!

This place has changed for the better over the past couple of months. They take the orders faster and the wait is less than before. The burgers are fresh and delicious and well worth the 5 mins it takes to cook them! If you went a few months ago and hated it you have to go back and give then a second chance! You’ll be glad you did, I know I was!

Was willing to risk it for a place that was right on the way and was dinged for too much cheese on a cheesy burger. Since I often like places that others don’t, I figured I’d try it. Unfortunately, our food was fine but the service was just terrible and I’m one of those people who finds something to like about everyplace. We got some pretty standard stuff: BLT turkeyburger, bacon cheeseburger, cinnamon vanilla milkshake and cheese fries. Food came out erratically and took about 20 – 25 minutes even in a nearly empty restaurant. The burgers were both good but had that sort of thin pre-cooked bacon feel to them which I wasn’t expecting at a place like this. One of my bacon slices was cold too which was strange. The milkshake was totally delicious though it was served in the metal shake-maker container which seemed like an odd choice. When our waitress brought the cheese fries out, a while after our burgers, she remarked that it was only a half order(why? she didn’t say) and she’d bring us out another half order. They had shredded cheese sort of flung on top of them, not really melted. Ultimately she forgot about bringing the second half order and we had to remind her of it on our way out the door at which point she gave us a to go order. People weren’t nice or not-nice, they just mostly seemed like they didn’t really know how to run a burger joint. There seemed to be a lot of confusion behind the counter the whole time we were there so it’s possible they were training someone? In any case the food was fine just nothing special and the service was enough of a hassle that I don’t think we’d be back.

My friends and I came here on our way to Maine after renting a car at Hertz. The lady who took our order was super friendly and nice. There seems to be a group of people there who must have been owners of the place or did some thing there or sponsored something there. They had eaten and went out for ribbon cutting. it was pretty cool. I ordered the Californian burger. It came with lettuce and tomatoes and smothered with mashed avocado. The burger was pretty thick in size and it tasted very fresh. I also ordered their Berry Chocolate milkshake. VERYGOOD! Definitely recommend it. You’d have to give this a try. It’s thick and sweet — maybe a little too sweet but otherwise it is very nice. The place isn’t small but a decent size. Bathroom was clean so that’s a plus. We didn’t expect waited service but they must have been a little behind in orders so the lady told us she will bring the food over to us. Why the 3 stars? Service was a tad slow. We got our food at different times, so waiting to eat took awhile. The fries were OVER cooked and all dried up. The onion rings were greasy — VERY greasy but had a lot of flavor compared to the fries. Would I return? MAybe…

Oh such mixed feelings. I really wanted to have a better experience. I live in Stoughton and like to spend my money here when possible. I ordered the cheesy burger and opted to go for swiss cheese instead of American. Unfortunately, the cook put both American and Swiss on my burger. It really ruined it. Way too much cheese on my cheesy burger. The home made chips were awesome though. It seems there is a real disconnect between the management/help and patrons. I read quite a few reviews about people standing and waiting for someone to acknowledge them. Unfortunately, that was my experience too. I was standing there just waiting in a store that wasn’t particularly busy. With no recognition from the apparent manager. Customer service is severely lacking at this location. I really hope they fix things because it would be nice if this place lasted. The food was pretty good.

SHOCKED that this place has such terrible reviews!!! If you look at the reviews for their other in-state location in Springfield, you will see that this place is, THEBOMB! Jake’s Wayback Burgers blows five guys out of the water!!! I never get this excited about writing a review, but to see that Jake’s has two stars for mainly service issues is quite sad. Obviously service matters, but we are here for the food people. Complain to management and get these issues taken care of the proper way if they bug you that much. I know terrible service sucks, but the food is high quality and delicious here, and it would be sad to see a business like this go under based on bad service when the business was still in the process of getting established. Okay, rant over, now on to the food… YUM! I first tried Jake’s in Delaware, and have considered driving back for a burger multiple times, but lets get real, 403 miles for a cheeseburger is a bit extreme :-p! I was super excited when I heard they were now in our area. The food is phenomenal! The burgers are always hot and juicy. I have never found any of those chewy or hard pieces of beef that people cringe at the mere thought of. The beef is of high quality and never frozen. You can definitely taste the difference. The topping are great too. I just wish that they used iceberg lettuce instead of a leafier green like romaine. I just don’t think romaine belongs on a burger. I’m not really into fries, I would rather just have the burger, but their fries are delicious. They seem to be hand cut and not frozen. They aren’t soggy and have nice flavor. For the people that like that«just picked from the ground potato taste», and the others that like the«from the freezer, more processed» kind of fry… I’d say there is right in between and the perfect blend of texture, flavor, and seasoning. For their cheese fries, I would prefer nacho cheese instead of shredded cheese, which would be much more tastier, but who needs all that extra unhealthiness right?! lol. They also offer old fashioned milk shakes. The black and white is my personal favorite. I did not have any customer service or timing issues. I placed my order and it was ready in about 10 minutes, maybe 15. I left without my shake, and the kid at the counter actually followed me outside and delivered it to me so I didn’t leave without it. SCORE! This place is the perfect American food spot. Great charm, even better food, and the service I experienced was great. Check them out!

Eh our wait was 15 minutes which seems standard for a burger made in a restaurant but its not really a restaurant and we were promised 5 minutes. There were a ton of staff for 9:30 at night but I’m unsure what they do. One guy took our order and packed orders, one guy manned the grill, and another made shakes and packed, leaving three more wandering around. They have to get that down or it’s not gonna work. The bf liked the burger, the fries were decent but seemed like frozen and lacked salt. The eggnog shake was really good. It’s not really worth the wait because the wait was pretty boring and the other 4 parties waiting also seemed kind of pissed. All in all, if I want this type of food, I will make the trek to Dairy Queen. Jakes burgers weren’t gourmet enough to compete and DQ knows how to serve in 5 minutes.

Eggnog milkshake was good. Had the chili cheese hotdog & it was nothing special. Chili Cheese fries were very soggy. Nothing Special, but not so horrible either.
