Fine Wendy’s here, conveniently on Route 138 in Stoughton. Another location that NEEDS a remodel, but they’re getting to it(hopefully). Anyway, the drive thru went quickly today, and the food was fine(as a quick lunch for a trip to a nearby city). At the drive thru window, Wendy(couldn’t believe there was a Wendy working at Wendy’s!) was extremely friendly, kind, and made the experience here better(as the parking lot is terrible– trash, junk, and just not nearly as nice as other Wendy’s locations. Ok Wendy’s, but the Brockton and Randolph locations, both nearby are both brand new and much nicer, so I would highly suggest those restaurants… wait until they fix this parking lot and update the restaurant to that«new» Wendy’s look.

The food at this Wendy’s is awesome. You unwrap the burger and it actually looks good, not like the smushed mess you get at McDonald’s. Drive through is always fast as well and they get your order right. There used to be a wonderful woman that worked the drive through and always said«thank you and have a blessed day» when she gave you the food. Not sure if she works there still but the last couple of times the staff I got was kind of snippy.

Tired, old store but friendly help and the food is usually hot and fresh like Dave wanted it. I have been going to this Wendy’s(and its previous incarnation: Ginos) since I was a little kid so have a soft spot for it. My mom and Nana would take us here after shopping for lunch and now they are both in Holy Sepulcher cemetery behind Wendy’s so I walk over and visit and think of them when I go there. Yes, kinda weird but I think would get a kick out of it.

I will let it be known that I am not much of a «fast food» person. I don’t get it often, but when I do it usually ends up being Wendy’s from this location. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes they can be a little slow in acknowledging you(I wouldn’t be happy to work at a Wendy’s either… I totally get it). Overall what really matters is that I have had pretty consistent food quality here. Whether dropping by for lunch when I’m doing my laundry at the laundromat next door, or late night after a long day at work… the hamburgers, chicken, and sandwich toppings have always been fresh and fries have almost always been hot. The last time I stopped by for lunch with my wife as we waited for our laundry to finish, it was empty inside. It took a minute or two for someone to come to the front counter to take our order… but after that, the ordering was fast and food came right up. On this particular occasion, the fries were stale. I walked up, and the person at the counter said«we’ll have some fresh fries up in one minute and thirty seconds, I’ll bring them to your table.» The fries were brought to our table two minutes later along with an apology. In the end, maybe they can be a little crabby here… but that is perfect customer service in my book. And the burgers, chicken, and toppings were fresh as usual.

You walk into a Wendy’s not really expecting much. When you walk out and your expectations haven’t been met, that’s a problem. However, this is an easy solution. New employees. I have never felt so unwelcome in a fast food restaurant, and that’s saying a LOT. First of all, this place was completely empty. Not even a slight exaggeration. Someone saw us at the register and shouted«HEY! There’s customers!» And it wasn’t a pleasant exclamation. They sounded mad. Still took about two minutes for someone to walk to the register. The staff were yelling at each other. A girl put two frosties on the tray, and was berated for putting them in the wrong place. The entire time we were eating, we could hear people yelling at each other. Wendy’s, you need some serious management help.
