As expected for a ski lodge base camp bar this place was expensive. I got a $ 17 turkey burger(that didn’t even come with a side) and an $ 11 bowl of soup. That said, I am well aware of the prices associated with eating at ski lodges, so I wasn’t particularly surprised. Many of the bars at Stowe have huge, great, local craft beer selections. The beer list here is more limited, but still has some decent local selections – they have about 10 beers on tap. The White Chicken Chili tasted good, but was a broth-based soup, not a chili, and not what I expected. The turkey burger was decent. Mine was topped with a slice of unmelted cheddar, fried onion straws, and cranberry aioli. It was served on a challah roll, which, for some reason, was incredibly greasy by the time it arrived at my table. The burger itself was a little dry, but had good flavor. Tip: Get here before noon or expect to wait 40 minutes for a table. We went to eat at 11:30 and had no wait. Double Bonus Tip: If you eat lunch early, the slopes will be empty while everyone else is eating from noon to 1:30 and you can get in a couple, less-crowded runs.
