We are on vacation from Florida and came here for dinner on our anniversary. I had made reservations prior to arriving. The hostess wished us a happy anniversary before seating us. That was sweet. Excellent food, service, and overall environment. Highly recommend it. Best restaurant in Stowe.

Perfect dinner for apre-ski. More on a traditional side but with a nice twist to all the dishes. If you want a tasty hearty meal go check it out. The dining room is cozy with a huge fireplace. Can’t wait to go back!

I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience there. Environment is very cozy and warm, whole wood-retro décor gives you the«warm sunday morning by the fireplace» kind of vibe, would be a perfect spot for a brunch(I had dinner there, just mentioning brunch spot because of the whole atmosphere and the tables by the window). Food is good, the soup of the day raised my expectation and the entrée was very well prepared. The control of the fire was just right and flavoring was on point. But, to be honest, for the price we paid, I expected better. Maybe it was because we went in at a really busy time, but I would love to go again for a second try.

Our dinner here on a Wednesday night was excellent in all respects. My wife ordered a salmon appetizer that combined salmon, naan, chili powder and sour cream. It was wonderful. I had six oysters and they were perfectly presented. We each had the scallops special. The presentation and preparation were impeccable and they were memorably delicious. We had a bottle of Cakebread Chard and my wife had a French 75. Our server was Amanda and she could not have been more engaging and professional. ‘Twas a pricey meal at $ 203 but delightful and appreciated.

Had pork shank and fish stew. Both excellent with attentive friendly service from our waiter Rick. Ate at 6 pm and place fills up quickly on the Saturday we dined. Rustic décor and warming fire places. Bar is small. Try it!

The restaurant came recommended but for the price we paid it was NOT worth it. The Pro’s: cozy atmosphere next to a fireplace. Waitress and service overall were excellent. Con’s: butter in packets, appetizers good but not knock your socks off(we had smoked salmon and scrimp with mango salsa). We each had the pork Shank. It was just plain average. Big portions but there didn’t seem to be any great sauce accompanying it. And the carrots and potatoes were tasteless. Nothing was unedible but when the bill came and it was $ 146 for two people with no dessert and 4 glasses of wine it just wasn’t worth it. Went to PLATE the next night had an WONDERFUL outrageous meal and spent the same amount.

Excellent special drink menu. Party of four and we all loved the bourbon, tequila margarita, French 75 gin, and the Old Fashioned selections. There was no shortage of booze in these drinks. Very good service throughout the evening. The mussels were fantastic and an enormous portion. Caesar salad was perfect. All entrees(lobster, scallops, steak and fettuccini) were delicious. This is a real restaurant with real good food and real good service. You will get a great drink and a great meal in a really nice setting. Easy parking.

It’s a nice little place. Service was great, food pretty good, and décor acceptable. But, we go to eat, don’t we? The mussels were really great and the portion size was enough that despite sharing them with me my wife didn’t want to order dinner. But she did. She was pleased with the lobster she ate, but was full enough that she couldn’t rave about it like she may have otherwise. I had the lamb chops. Very good but, in all honesty, 3 bones isn’t enough for anyone of any size. They were kind enough to grill two extras but the uncharge was enough to make the dish typically unaffordable. The wine pairings from the chef(upon request) were very well done and I would recommend you ask. My biggest complaint is that we were in Stowe to watch the leaves change color and The Bistro at Ten Acres was still serving their summer menu, which seemed out of place. Grilled pineapple instead of pumpkin? If possible I would give 4.5 stars but because there are some restaurants that deserve to be set apart, The Bistro at Ten Acres can only have 4.

After living in Las Vegas for 15+ years, we have eaten at some great restaurants. While the Bistro was good, it is not a 4 or 5* establishment, at least not what we were served. The barbecued pork shank was quite good. The sweet potato mash was very good. Those were worthy of a 4* rating. The Lemon Chicken was very disappointing. Very little hint of lemon, a lemon sauce would have helped. It was dry and very pedestrian. The orzo salad was average. The price of the bottle of wine was good, definitely a plus for not out-pricing non-connoisseurs from buying a bottle. The dessert menu doesn’t have any prices listed on it. We bought the lemon cake. Good, a little dry, but still good. But it was overpriced at $ 9. If we would have known it was that much, we never would have ordered it. We are NOT cheap people, but learned that I guess you need to ask the price of everything. Nice food, nice service. It is an upscale restaurant in a tourist area, but the lemon chicken was overpriced at $ 24 and just not that good. I would definitely recommend reservations.

Great time, great food, great service. My husband had soup, salad and the pork shank. He cleaned his plate, no room for dessert. I heard their desserts are fabulous, next time for sure.

I have been driving by this place for over 10 years and finally had to try it. The staff was very welcoming and engaging. The ambience was nice and very New England cottage feel. We had a full meal there including appetizer, main course and desert. For starters, I had the calamari roasted with a fresh pepper salsa. Very tasty, very good. My wife had the foie gras which was also good but not necessarily unique. Main course consisted of lamb chops and my wife had a fish dish. Both were prepared well and were enjoyed by both of us. Desert for me was sorbet(raspberry) and unfortunately, I cannot recall what my wife ordered. So here is why the 4 stars. Service was flawless, food very tasty but not memorable and a little pricey. I do recommend visiting here for a dinner while in Stowe as this will be one of the better meals you will find but there are 1 or 2 better places.

So the staff is very friendly here. Nice atmosphere. The bread, so yummy I think it was Rosemary… Delicious and the butter they give with it was soft and not rock hard. I had the chicken chillaques(might have messed up on the spelling). For an appetizer. It was amazing! I want more lol. Just wish the tortilla strips were on the top and not the bottom. They got a little soft and sticky underneath everything. I also had the lamb, which was delicious except I ordered medium and it was more on the rare side. I ordered two deserts to go for family. The s’mores cake and the strawberry tart. S’mores cake was soooo yummy. I felt like the strawberry tart was good but a little to sweet. I liked this place, most likely would go again when I go back to Vermont.

Last night we dined at The Bistro for our first time, I can assure you we will be back. The owners Mark and Linda greeted you with a warm smile when you walked in the door as they were seating guest and serving behind the bar. The décor was exquisite with a charming flare of Vermont style throughout the restaurant, very warm and cozy. The service was excellent and the menu had something on it for everyones palate, the presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious thanks to chef Gary. We would highly recommend The Bistro to be a must stop when you are in this part of Vermont, we think it is a hidden treasure. Thanks for a wonderful evening. Akron, Ohio

First let me say this place came highly recommended. Lots of seafood items here. It was a warm atmosphere that made me never want to leave. The server was very attentive. Food was good, but I wasn’t looking for seafood, so that was disappointing. Overall a nice find. A little off the beaten path

Very accommodating and great for large groups. We stopped by as a party of 17 after a day on the slopes, having made a reservation for a large group, and they sat us at a private room with a large table. We split a bunch of sides, including the duck liver pâté(really tasty), the mussels, frog legs(alright; not that much meat and not too much flavor) and the truffle fries, and the portions were generally on the larger end. For entrees, I split an order of the duck and the pork shank, and both were decent. The duck was a tad dry, but the pork shank was much more tender and tasty. We also split several bottles of wine, and the total bill was very reasonable. The service was very helpful, especially given the size of our party. The food was decent although somewhat hit or miss, but the value and accommodation for large groups makes it a great location for larger groups if you can secure the space(we reserved it a few days in advance).
