Just had the lobster rolls. First as a lobster roll purist I think they should be served cold with mayo. I know plenty of folks and all new yorkers will disagree but the simple fact is that a lobster roll is served on a toasted(grilled) new england style roll cold with mayo. If you serve it any other way that’s fine, it’s a lobster sandwich. Or maybe it’s called something else. I’m not sure what a lobster salad roll is. I think it’s a term someone from new jersey made up to describe a lobster roll. Anyway, as far as warm lobster sandwiches go this was fine. It was $ 22 so a little on the expensive side for a sandwich and nothing else, but it was a good one even if it was warm.

I will come here, out of my way for lunch hour on occasion. The hot dogs, fries and milk shake brings back good childhood memories for me. There were so many more places like this around. Now, not so many and not as good as Danny’s.

This place was killer, I can’t wait to go back. If you’re like me & like to post up and eat in the car, have a place in mind you can drive off to and eat with a view if you’re going out to grab a bite w/friends. Definitely a classic hot-dog dive.

Excellent hot dogs, great old school vibe. Place has been around for over 80 years, so if you want a taste of the past and what hot dogs used to taste like, this is the spot. They have many things on their menu, but from what I could tell and from what I heard, you should probably stick to the hot dogs and the crinkle fries. I got one hot dog with the«Works» and one Plain, just to compare the dog to others I’ve had. It has a very good flavor without leaving that greasy taste in your mouth and they toast the buns, which I love, and think everyone should do. The actual hot dog is slightly different than what most people are used to, as there’s a slight gap between the casing of the dog and the interior meat. At first it’s a little strange to get used to, but the flavor easily overrides that strangeness. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for an old school hot dog made they way they used to be made and should be made.

This is a hot dog stand. We ate hot dogs and fries. Don’t come expecting more than a hot dog stand, for that is what you will you find just off Exit 33 on I-95. However, if you are driving between up and down the coast and you want a delicious, nicely-spiced hot dog with a nice variety of toppings, get off the highway and stop here. It’s a minimalist stand that was built on US1 before I-95 was built, and the freeway overpass is visible out the window. Stay off the overpass. Eat the hot dogs.

You’d be a fool not to come here for a meal. I’ve been a frequent eater of this establishment since childhood, and not a thing has changed about it in the many years I’ve been coming here. For starters, it’s important to recognize that this place is one of the few that still offer classics in simple fashion as they were in the hayday of drive-thrus. The cheeseburgers have always been a favorite to my family, and shakes that are solid slurpers that often require two straws. The fries are average; I think I like them because crinkle cut are the best and they’re not too salty like so many burger joints are. If you’re looking for a simple, good quality meal at a low price, you’ve come to the right place.

I love the old school charm of this roadside joint, there are so few places like this that survive now a days(everybody wants shake shack or five guys. ugh, so sick of corporate chains… sorry I digress). Danny’s… Awesome hotdogs and fantastic burgers. Natural casing — great snap, nice level of savory spice, damn good dog! Flavorful, juicy, grass-fed beef burger. Dogs and burgers cooked on a flat-top grill. The old fashioned crinkle cut fries are crispy perfection(be sure to salt and pepper!) The devil dog was insane. that chili. mmm spicy! Limited seating, a few stools inside, picnic tables outside. Stick with the burgers and dogs ;) Take this place for what it is, a mom and pop shop making good food(since 1938). This place is a gem. Complainers stop crying about long lines and soggy food or fries. Long lines cause this joint rocks,. your food is soggy cause you wait too long to eat it, you gotta dive right in friends, don’t delay– hit the food at the picnic tables or on your dashboard. ;) go for it!

I had a NY Dog. I’m an ex New Yawka and we call these dirty dogs. Well at Danny’s they ain’t dirty but bigger and tastier — it definitely has a punch of chili that got me sweating on a humid day. Mmmmm good! The coffee milk shake was the perfect consistency and there are many other flavor like peanut butter, black and white, etc., so don’t settle for vanilla, chocolate or strawberry! The menu is quite extensive so I’ll have to come back a few times to try the burgers, the clam strips, lobster roll, it just keeps going! Anyway my fries we’re still crispy after 15 minutes, everything came out super hot. The dawg had a crunchy casing and you can taste the onions even though they were spicy. The bun was soft but not mushy. I don’t remember much else because I ate it so quickly! This place is on a busy road against i95, so definitely a road side stand in every sense. Eat outside on the picnic tables in good weather or jump in the car. Just a few minutes from my office, so as the Arnold would say ‘I’ll be back…’

Couldn’t justify a 5 star because this is a burger shack. You’re not going to find a better one around though.

Awesome food! Love the crazy horse and devil dogs. Milkshakes are great! This place has been been around for a very long time and has a great reputation. Food is fresh and not frozen. Must try it out!

I ate here awhile back, and found a metal screw in the cheeseburger I was eating! I showed it to the cook, and he said«yep, that looks like one of ours!» and went right back to cooking. No apology, and not even an offer to make me another burger. I could have broken a tooth biting into that thing! So, yeah… I’m obviously not planning on going back anytime soon.

Great hot dog! Get the chili and cheddar cheese dog! Caution chili has a nice kick! Tight place to eat so if it’s raining take it to go!

We’ve been coming to Danny’s for years. Tonight, everything was terrible and we will not be returning. The lobster roll was atrocious, hard and like it’s been sitting in a container for weeks. The butter was tasteless– literally like water. The fries were so saturated in oil that they were shriveled and burnt. The hamburger and hotdog were subpar at best. Not to mention their prices have totally gone up. So incredibly disappointed.

I think this is a great place to try! I like the quality of the food and it is priced fair. There is some room for improvement. The milkshake tasted like whole milk with chocolate syrup verse a real thick milkshake. Mine was super thin and totally unenjoyable. The lobster roll was a bit chewy and not moist and delicious. Even if I add butter it wouldn’t do. Plus, I don’t like butter on my lobster. The burgers and hot dogs are A+. I would give it a try again.

I have been eating at Danny’s for well over a decade now. Although I cannot comment on any of their other food items, besides their Hummel’s long dog with the works and their perfectly crisp crinkle cut fries; I can confidently say that they are both beyond delicious worth their cost. I have yet to find another long dog that is even slightly comparable to the one that is at this drive-in, which is exactly why I have the same thing every single time that I have stopped by here. The fries are always hot, have never disappointed and are the best crinkle cut fries that I have yet to come across. There has certainly been so much quality and consistency over the years in such an unexpected place. Hands down one of my favorite«fast food» places. Seriously, everything written above is an understatement!

Hands down the best burger I’ve ever had. Even their onion rings were beyond compare. A friend who hates onion rings would not stop stealing my leftovers. As far as price goes — and maybe it’s because I live NYC — I thought $ 7.25 for my burger and fries was a great deal. I think I’ll have to find more reasons to A) be in Stratford or B) drive through I-95(regrettably) just so I can stop by Danny’s Drive In.
