From appearances, this is a «rustic»(or shabby chic?) looking restaurant but the food is delicious!(The only reason I didn’t give five-stars is because of the slightly unlovely atmosphere). Our server, Ashley, offered terrific guidance on our food choices and we were not disappointed. With cracked conch, fresh steamed shrimp and crab bisque as our appetizers, we were off to a great meal. Our party of four loved the hog fish and crab special, the tile fish-of-the-day entrée, the crab cake & fried shrimp combo, and the scallop-wrapped-in-bacon sandwich. All of the food was five-star quality and we look forward to returning!

My girlfriend and I pass by this place all the time, never realized what we were missing out on. Started out with the cocktail blue crab appetizer, piping hot and so good we could have stopped there and been amazed. I had the hog fish special, she had the captains plate with snapper. Excited by the combination of flavors and the absolute freshness of everything. Scallops you could cut with the side of your fork. We recommend you try the swamp head eternal blonde along side. We were planning our return trip before we even finished dinner.

This is a whole in the wall looking restaurant from the outside. We walked through the bar and totally got a stare down from the locals at the bar. I’m sure they were thinking«oh great, here come the Unilocalers.» Other than that the place is very nicely decorated in a Carribbean cottage style with lots of pastel colors and hanging fishnets. The waitress was friendly and helpful. I wasn’t thrilled with the conch fritters or Cajun shrimp appetizers. Our big group ordered multiple orders of snow crab, a bacon scallop burger and a hog fish entrée. Everyone was very satisfied with their food. The accompanying cilantro rice and tomato avocado salad were great but I wish they would give a larger serving of the rice. Prices seemed a bit high for me but I don’t eat crab often so I could not tell you for sure. Big plus for carrying Monk In the Trunk beer! I would definitely go back if in the area. Forgot to mention that there was a gentleman playing music. He was great!

Great food, casual atmosphere second time here and managed to fit us in without a reservation. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly had great recommendations — had the special red shrimp appetizer and the smoked fish dip which were amazing, and a pound of king crab and crab plate for 2– was enough for 3 adults and a kid. Highly recommend.

If you like crab bisque, you should stop by Gettin Crabby — it’s worth the drive just for that! I ordered the bacon wrapped scallop burger that came with a tomato /cucumber salad; and my partner had the cheeseburger which was also good considering this is primarily a seafood restaurant. The start of our meal, the bisque, was terrific; and for dessert we had the Florida Orange cake which was also a good choice; not dry or too sweet, and had a delicious orange buttercream frosting. The desserts are not listed on the menu so they’ll vary day to day but I was glad they were offering something other than the same mundane selection too many other places rely on — key lime pie and cheesecake. The service was good and we’ll definitely be back.

Best seafood I have had in a while. The oyster stew was delicious and the conch was very tender. Even the sides were delicious!

Best shrimp around. They get it fresh each day from the shrimp boat. Then they cook it up lots of different ways. The crab cakes are amazing. Nice little dive of the main trail. But so worth it. Don’t judge by the outside. Go in and enjoy. We drove here special. Well worth the drive.

I came here thinking I already knew what I wanted to order but when I arrived, everything on the menu sounded so good that I had to rethink my order. I eventually ended up getting the fried conch appetizer and a trio of blue crabs. The conch was lightly battered and fried to perfect crispness. The dipping sauce it came was creamy and had a spice kick to it that was delicious. The crab was prepared in two different ways that I have never had before. The first style of crab was from Maryland. It had garlic, it had salt, it had flavor that melded well with the natural sweetness of the crab. The second style of crab was from New Jersey. The bread crumb/butter/garlic combination was to die for. I’ve never had anything remotely like this before and it was a flavor party in my mouth. Will come back here for sure!

Fresh, not fancy, the locals and tourists alike know about this bustling crab house. Gabe had 5 fishes: scallops wrapped in bacon may be the best we ever had, fried shrimp, oyster shooters, grouper with lemon butter sauce topped with lump crab meat. Delicious. See you next year!

I almost don’t want to write this review. I want this unassuming crab house to remain a secret! Just go. You won’t be disappointed. The fish is always fresh. The rice is my fave. I love their steak fries too. The hogfish special is generally the best bet. On a recent trip my mom had their fried oysters and her friend had the scallop burger. They both raved over them!

A solid seafood shop! I was worried when I smelled the smell in the restaurant(and the bathroom). We stopped here on our way back to Miami from Disney based on Unilocal. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. Their menu is classic, fresh seafood that you can get blackened, fried, or pan sautéed. We started with the crab bisque and the conch fritters. The crab bisque had a TON of crab in it, and had a nice light creamy flavor to it. The conch were SO light and delicate, definitely a surprise. They were like calamari but more delicate, and they came with a delicious spicy remoulade to dip in. The captains plate was great. I got it blackened, the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The blackening seasoning overpowered the fish in the platter, but I didn’t mind. I ordered it with the cucumber tomato salad, which had an interesting light dressing on it. Overall, fast service, tasty seafood, casual atmosphere. Just hold your nose a little, order a beer, and enjoy!

Great place to eat! I’m from out of town and in Stuart for a few months and this is honestly one of the best places I’ve eaten at. The king crab were delicious and the atmosphere was great! This place lives up to the reviews!

The conch fritters were as good or better than in Key West. I had the cracked conch for the main course and was not disappointed.

Okay, coming off the highway I was questioning my choice, but with such great Unilocal reviews, I soldiered on. The question was, are my three arguing kids and napping wife going to enjoy this diversion. Napping wife kind of gave giggle as she noticed that Gettin’ Crabby was joined with Gun Shop in a very industrial looking area and between giggles managed to get ‚“Let me guess, Unilocal”. She cannot deny that Unilocaled has guided us to some pretty cool spots with few exceptions. We tried the following: Crab Bisque Crab Cake Sandwich Soft Shell Crab Sandwich Shrimp Sandwich Pasta with King Crab The food was very tasty, service was friendly and prompt, but the tab was more than I expected for this style restaurant. No complaints on service or food, just a bit pricey.

I have been waiting and waiting to get to this place. I have always heard amazing things… And now I know for sure! A little hidden gem! It’s crazy small but that is what makes it so homey:) Marc*** greeting my boyfriend and I, even as busy as they were he had a smile ! Which is huge — We started off with some brews while we waiting for a spot at the bar. Then on to the bisque– blackened shrimp– followed by Alaskan King Crab dinner– All I can say is we WILLBEBACK

Great casual fish & seafood restaurant in the Stuart area. Fresh fish, reasonable prices, and a friendly wait staff, make this a favorite of the locals! Our first time here, we came with another couple and were not disappointed. We will return!

It is a wonderful thing for my wallet and waistline that Gettin Crabby is in Southeast Florida, and not Chicago. My favorite thing on the menu is the crab chowder. It is all kinds of rich and amazing and chock full of crab. That is reason enough to visit Gettin’ Crabby. However, the Crab Platter for 2 is also worthwhile selection if you feel like sharing… or having it for yourself. I cant wait to return for more crabby deliciousness!

Been here three times in the past month. Haven’t paid once because everyone is so grateful to have been brought here. They take reservations for parties of five or more only– they have only five tables, the rest at the bar. The second time we dined it we arrived at about 7:30 on a Thursday. It was standing-room only. Waited about thirty minutes for a seat at the bar and were happy we did! We had the cracked conch(pretty awesome), crab bisque(awesome) and the sautéed mahi(stupendous). I won’t order fish in most Florida joints, and if I do it will be fried. It’s an unusual place that knows the fish well enough to be trusted to sautée it. This is one of those places. :) They have music on Fridays and Saturdays typical– it can get a bit loud. Oh yeah and the staff is great. Always down for a joke or a story if they can catch a breath!
