Wow, on a whim we tried this magnificent establishment. Service all around was pleasant and sincere. The ambiance was very nice, quaint and cozy. The food… delicious, spectacular and perfect. From the appetizer(tre bruschetta) to the soup and salad and the main course that made both of us anxious for the next bite. Cannot wait to come back.

We dined here last Saturday night and had a great meal. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly(medium). The potatoes were great and everything was very hot. My husband had the walleye and he loved it as well. We had the tiramisu and crème brûlée for dessert and they were both good. The only thing that could use some improvement was the salad — the choose of greens and dressings were lacking. We will definitely go back.

It was ok. Beer selection is horrible — they push the wine. Was expecting a good Italian bread and oil but got some kind of biscuit with butter. The waiter was very stiff/nervous. We had a couple appetizers and salad. Very good but headed across the street for desert and coffee

The food here is good, but not exceptional. I found the service neither remarkably good or bad. If you’re looking for a decent dining experience in Sturgeon Bay, your options are severely limited. Dal Santo does Italian well enough.

Beer cheese soup was good, but a little thin for my taste. I ordered the chicken encroute and it was a nice blend of pesto with marinara sauce. I’d rather have been able to get pasta on the side instead of the potatoes or broccoli, but the chicken was very good. My husband ordered fettuccine alfredo, which he loved but I thought was just okay. They served dinner rolls that were dense almost like biscuits but they had a great bread flavor. Our server was excellent.

Wonderful experience. The mushroom appetizer was one of the better mushroom dishes I have ever had. Prices were very reasonable and atmosphere was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and caring. Live music was a nice touch. I would definitely go back here.

Another great meal tonite!!! Calamari app. lightly breaded and yummy. Caesar salad is one of the best I have had anywhere plus anchovies! My personal favorite entrée is the Calamari Diavolo… Yummo!

The meal started out well with fairly priced wine and a nice Bianco Pizzeta special. The cheese soup was excellent. Now came the Chicken Parmesan. A processed piece of chicken with a slice of cheese on it and sauce that clearly came out of a can. Fresh isn’t too much to ask.

A very simple meal, good service and good food. The ravioli was a small portion but very tasty, and the egg drop soup was also delicious,(though she dropped my spoon as well. Don’t worry, she brought another one). We were disappointed in the lack of cannolis, but it looked like their rolling dessert menu might include it in the future. Didn’t really care for the fettuccine, as it was a little watery. Overall, a pleasant experience.

We were surprised on how restrictive they were with simple substitution. Would not recommend if dinning with children or are accustomed to reasonable request. Our waiter was great and did what ever they could but had their hands tied(owner needs to lighten up and understand customer experience). Overall, the food was ok.

Went here with the family while on vacation. Overall the place was disappointing, food was very average as was the service. The only thing everyone at the table seemed to like was the walleye. The spaghetti bolagnese was pretty standard fair. By far the worst item we got was the chicken parmigian, it looked like a frozen Tyson chicken tender with a deli slice of mozzarella on top of store bought marinara and overcooked spaghetti. The wine selection was fine and prices fair. I would give this place 3 stars but at the price point I can’t justify 3, service and food should be much better if they are going to charge $ 20 per entrée

Nice quiet date night! Pasta special was great, red sauce with sausage, cabbage, garlic, red pepper flakes. Husband had the double thick pork chop which was perfectly cooked. It had a corn bread, walnuts and cranberry stuffing. Good wine selection as well.

We enjoyed our dinner in the quaint setting. We were seated in the front window(as a draw for other patrons, I think) Beautiful presentation of the food, very good, but VERY rich! They offer small plates as well as full entrees. A bit pricey.

Everyone at my table agreed that the food here was really good, but that the service wasn’t. However, they were kid friendly, and didn’t throw us out when my son turned the area around our table into a train track, which was nice. The food: my gnocchi was actually breathtaking. I dreamt about it after I got home from dinner, even though I was still full.

This was a very clean and classy place for downtown Sturgeon Bay. The inside was very nicely decorated but plain, it was a little dark they could improve on their lighting scheme some. This comes off as a date night restaurant. I was not extremely hungry so I ordered a side salad and small spaghetti. The salad was ok nothing special. The spaghetti was good, homemade pasta and sauce, very tasty and just the right size. My co-worker ordered a chicken caesar salad and deep fried raviolis. The salad was large and he said was good. The raviolis were tasty crunchy outside with a soft cheesy inside, with a great blend of cheeses. It was sad to see that there were only 3 tables filled. I think this is a cuisine and price outside of the locals venue. Wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back on the next trip.

Ordered beer cheese soup, small garden salad with blue cheese, Alfredo small plate. You’ll get a better beer cheese soup at The Avenue in Madison. But the soup is mild, the bacon is more ham-like. Bread comes with the soup course. Formal wine service(yes, some places still do this). Salad was fresh greens with an odd, sour cream-like ribbon of dressing and generous chunks of bleu. I would suggest ordering a vinaigrette and add bleu cheese for a better small plate salad. Alfredo small plate wasn’t too garlicky, would satisfy any modest mac and cheese craving. Dining partner liked the La Meriggia Montepulciano D’Abruzzo wine and said the butter sauce on the chicken spinach ravioli was killer with just the right portion size with the rolls and salad. Service is slow, but in a nice restaurant, Mediterranean, have a conversation sort of way. If you want fast food, go McDonald’s.

This is a really nice Italian restaurant. It’s in a old building so the architecture is really neat and creates a really cool atmosphere. I ordered the chicken and spinach ravioli and it was very good. They have a really nice wine list. Other than wine, all they have is beer. No hard liquor at all. The service is really good too. This is definitely a restaurant to consider if you are looking to have a nice dinner out in Sturgeon Bay.

How was your day? Fine. No great, fantastic, bad, or terrible? How was it? Fine. That describes Trattoria Dal Santo. Fine. Two stars on Unilocal means I’ve experienced better. I have experienced better, sometimes much better. I ordered Chianti, a Caesar Salad and Spaghetti Bolognese. All fine. The salad was too large. The spaghetti had too much meat sauce. Some might say this shows generous proportions. I say it doesn’t show imagination with food. The room is cavernous. The wait-staff is competent and watchful. That’s it. Was this a fine review?

Food was sub par which was complemented nicely by the inept wait staff. The sirloin steak was smaller than the head of broccoli. The gnocchi where chewy and the sauce tasted like a can. Service was frenetic had to ask for bread. Waitress spilled coffee all over the table. Also no espresso. Portions where extremely small in comparison to the prices. Horrible waste of money and time. Go across the street to 136.

I love this restaurant and I would love it anywhere. But I especially love it here and now. Our first dinner here in Door County was a fish boil… not sure what the attraction is but an all white meal with fish bones just didn’t do it for me. Then lunch at a biker bar on Washington Island made this traveler a tad cranky. Well, maybe more than a tad. Unilocal to the rescue and we arrived starved and grumpy at the door step of Trattoria Dal Santo. What a great meal. I had a glass of Prosesco and a cheese/pesto appetizer that would have made me happy as the meal. I loved the Caesar Salad and divine chicken/spinach ravioli. Topped off with great coffee and a decadent chocolate dessert and my good mood is restored. I love that there is a really good restaurant in the midst of all the touristy meals. This put the cherry on our Door County day!
