Food Lion Store No 1512

Before Walmart added an entire grocery section, FL was the place to go to for low prices. Not now. Unless you are buying everything that is on MVP special, you are paying too much. I only come on a couple of weekdays in the evenings to get the marked down/​reduced prices on meat that will be expiring within the next 48 hours. I buy it, clean it and freeze it for a later date. Can’t beat it. I’ll also come in here if I need to get something really quick and I don’t feel like dealing with the madness of wallies parking lot.

More of a glorified convenience store than grocery store. Food Lions are hit and miss and have lately been more of a miss.
I guess this place is stocking more and more processed food items, because the deli/​bakery and produce sections were both spacious and sparse on product. Maybe they were going for artistic merit on creating empty space, but I found the distance between produce displays was a bit too much. I had to pick up some fruit and veggies while the wife waited for the deli meat and cheese; the pickings were slim on many fruit/​veggie items, but I did see the stocker wheel out some green produce as I was finishing up, so maybe it was just the Easter weekend rush (???)
While spouse was in line, I went to find some Excedrin to stomp out the nagging headache growing out from my left eyebrow area, but couldn’t find any (nor Tylenol) and gave up. The clerk was trying to be helpful but I waved him off… nice gesture though.
