Advance Auto Parts

So I stopped by this location on 04-​06-​2016 around 6:00 PM to get some Freon for my vehicles AC. I did not purchase anything from this location as when I spoke to the sales associate, he gave me the most ridiculous reason on why my AC pressure was not rising when I was adding Freon to my low side valve for my AC. He stated that «the newer cars have self regulating ac systems». I was like ok??? So I played along. I don’t know if this guy was mess with me and thought it was funny that I was humoring him or he really thought there are self regulating systems. Either way it really does not matter as I will not be coming back to this location. It is illegal to release Freon in the air, so I don’t know how a AC system would be self regulating. After I left I laughed in the car. It was funny and enjoyable, I do understand that employees at these auto parts store are not professional mechanics so I should not expect much. Anyways I went to another store and bought some Freon and added it to my low side valve for AC at the right pressure. Self regulating AC would be cool though. I would recommend driving an additional 10 minutes to the other location down the street or a different auto parts store and not the Auto Zone across the street, that was a horrible experience also. Speaking of adding Freon to my car, I give the Advance Auto located at 8407 S Texas 6, Houston, TX 77 083 five stars as I went to that location the next day and customer service was great and they helped my with my AC. Unilocal does not have this location listed so I could not review them.

My wife’s mini-​van battery died and my bother had to jump start it. He recommended Advance Auto Part for a new battery. I went and was done in 15 minutes. Battery check and Installation were free and the sale clerk even cleaned both terminals for free. The store itself was bright, clean, and well organized. All the sale clerks were friendly. Battery price was fair, on par with other auto parts stores.

Went it today in search of that thing they called to clear the water from windshield. A windshield wiper blades (: i was in and out so quick with the help of Mr. ELVIS yes thats his actual name! I asked if he could put the insert for me and he said OH YES no problem and he did i was offering a tip but he did not accept it and said thats not a problem thank you for your business — what an awesome guy! Thanks you im pretty sure i’ll be back again in search of some other thing for my car.

My review is based on a single experience of purchasing tire valve extenders.
It was a Sunday afternoon on Thanksgiving weekend. There was only one other customer inside besides me. The cashier asked me if I needed help and showed me the tire valve extenders. There was only one type of tire valve extender available – chrome for $ 5.39 or something. The back of the package contained some warning about the product containing lead so I decided to check out the way-​busier AutoZone across the street.
Advance Auto Parts is located on the Northeast corner of the W. Airport Blvd at Hwy 6 intersection. It is the northernmost store in that strip.
