Buyers beware– these guys are beyond shady!
Found them on Craigslist, researched and found their website, looked legitimate.
Ordered 15 pallets of 419 TIF Befmuda sod and bought turnkey installation, with topsoil, irrigation system for 5 zones tied into my existing system, and a dedicated water line. They were quick to quote and competitive in bid, also able to do job quickly. They came out to survey site Saturday before Monday install. Marc (grass) and his brother John (irrigation).
Oh did I mention that I already paid them 4k at this point for the supplies?
They insisted on full payment the day of service, which seemed reasonable, however, my bad was, I was on business travel that day and could not survey the job completed prior to payment.
What I came home to was rather surprising. A new irrigation unit equipped to handle 4 zones. 4 zones installed each with only two or three sprinkler heads. The heads are cheapys and coverage is insufficient. The water line exposed in a number of areas and the electric sprinkler lines above ground in other areas. So much for the ditch which to till to 6″!
2 weeks later at least 2 pallets of sod are dead and I moved another pallet to a location where it is actually sprinklered. They left a cut out around tress about 100sft which I did not request in the middle of the installation area, laid grass on rocks with little evidence of sufficient top soil underneath, despite my purchasing of 10 cubic yards, have sprinklers watering 360 degree patterns in areas where grass is only at 120 degrees installed, and failed to properly retape and cover existing water pipes they tied into.
I have tried to reach out to a Marc twice who positioned himself as the business leader without a response. Interestingly, they have since disappeared from Craig’s list, presumable only to surface under yet another business name.

CAUTION — THIS COMPANY NOW OPERATES AS AMERISCAPE OUTDOOR CREATIONS
I hired Long’s Lawncare and Irrigation on Thumbtack to install SOD in my newly built home in Rosenberg. My yard was measured by Marc Long, John’s brother and I was told that Marc would be the lead on this project.
Little did I know, Marc had a whole different company — «Ameriscape Outdoor Creations», so the company I actually hired on here isn’t the company that came out.
Marc measured my backyard and said that I’d need 5 pallets of grass to get my yard sodded. I agreed to his price per pallet for delivery and installation, and he came out and installed the sod.
I came home and noticed that the back-​corner portion of my yard (probably 300 square feet) was not sodded at all. I asked Marc and he said that the yard was bigger than what he thought, and that he would come back out with the rest (about a quarter of a pallet is what he says) and SOD the area that he was short. He said that it should be within the next two weeks.
I was okay with this and waited. After a month, I followed back up with him and he said «You ordered 5 pallets, I installed 5 pallets. I’m not coming back out unless your order another pallet.» A total change in tone from the first visit. (I guess he only cared about my job until my check cleared)
And within 6 weeks, my backyard SOD is full of weeds. The SOD in my front yard (which was installed by my builder) has NO weeds at all and is very healthy grass. I am not paying him any more to provide me with bad SOD and bad customer service.
Of course, I was shocked. My issues, which leads to the poor rating are:
1. I hired Long’s Landscaping and got Ameriscape instead.
2. I requested to have my entire backyard sodded.
3. Marc with Ameriscape measured, not me. HIS measurements were off, which is what led to us not getting our entire yard sodded. Since HIS measurements were off, he should come out and right his wrong.
4. No customer service from Marc when I complained.
5. After 5 weeks, backyard SOD is about 50% weeds, while front yard is healthy grass.
Since the invoice cleverly reads «5 pallets of SOD», I have no legal recourse because technically they fulfilled their requirement.
HOWEVER, ethically and responsibly, this company fails.
Please use caution when hiring this company. They only care about customer service until they are paid. Once they are paid, they will not come back and fix their mistakes.

Bad business. Shady dealings. Installed sod but kept insisting we needed more pallets. Cut corners. Didn’t roll sod. When we were done he wouldn’t provide a written bill and had me make it out to a guys name. Go elsewhere.
