No review from me since I didn’t get to eat. The place was lights out when I visited for lunch to day. The owner of the strip mall had changed the lock due to non rent payment from the owner of the restaurant.

It’s not often that you’ll find xiao long bao in Houston/Sugarland, so when I heard about it, I decided to check it out. If you’re a huge fan of this, it MAY satisfy your craving. The size is just right and has a good amount of soup/filling. However, the rest of the menu leaves a lot to be desired. Aside from the XLB, we ordered boiled seafood dumplings(kind of small), pan fried pork dumplings(a lot greasier than I would like), green onion pancake(bland) and sauteed chinese spinach(great!). Of course, this was only a small sample size of their extensive menu. Also, the service was a bit slow and forgetful at times. Overall, it was kind of a disappointing experience and I probably won’t have any burning desire to come back.

This is a great restaurant! Today’s lunch consisted of: boiled cilantro pork dumplings, Mapo tofu, chicken wings, and, of course, pork XLB. The lunch special is a very good deal: a generous bowl of rice, a large egg roll, and quite the bowl of soup accompany an entrée for $ 8. The rice was what it will always be, and the egg roll was also decent. The hot and sour soup was great! It was not too spicy and not too sour, which is a tendency for such soup(usually smelling like sewage). The tofu was well cooked and the spices were just balanced enough. It was not too sweet, either. The boiled dumplings were very good, and the amount of dumplings was so many! Even though they are bite sized, they give you so many that they are more than substantial! The XLB 小籠包 live up to their reviews and their restaurant’s sign at the entrance. The soup is plentiful and flavorful but not scalding hot. The pork is tender and flavorful as well. The skin was the right balance between thick and thin. And, they are enormous! I could not figure out how to eat them(thus making such a huge mess on myself, since they are usually bite sized-even in Shanghai), but they were amazing nonetheless. 6 are more than enough for me! The one setback was the wings. They had such a good sauce on them: sweet and tangy with a kick, but their texture was not the best ever. Get them as a fun appetizer, but don’t count on them to be the crème of the crop. I will definitely be back to try some more items that were on the menu!

This place has been opened for about 5 months but I’ve just discovered this place! I’m so glad that we have a place here with authentic xiao long baos without having to go to Bellaire! Ambiance: Nice décor — trendy! Customer service: We were immediately greeted by the hostess and seated. Our waiter(Alex) attended us rather quickly and took our orders. Service was quick and he checked up on us a few times to see if everything was going well. Our food came out one after another. The wait was quick, but it could be due to the fact that we came at 3pm on Saturday. Food: We ordered the eggroll, onion & scallion pancake, and the xiao long bao(pork soup buns). Egg roll — cripsy and good flavor, but it was more oily than what I’m used to($ 1.50 each) Scallion & Onion pancake — 4 pieces came out. It was light and cripsy just like the way our moms would make it.($ 2.99) Xiao Long Bao — DELICIOUS!!! They were larger than the normal sizes, steamed just perfect(you know it’s perfect when you remove it from the bamboo and the dumping wrapping doesn’t tear), the integrity of the wrapping was excellent, the soup inside was plentiful and mMMMMmmAZING!($ 7.99), and it comes with a dipping sauce on the side which was also delcious!

Great prices and great service, kind and quick food service but the tapioca drink or any kind if tapioca drink was poorly made. Overall since the food and service was so good with cheap prices. I give it a 4.

The food is ok but came out super slow! We here on tuesday and no other customer except us but we have to wait like 30 min for food! I think it is overprice for the dimsum! The xlb is ok not so good not so bad!

I came here all the way for xlb! Well! I can only say I am a little disappointed. I ordered crab and pork dumpling and pork dumping but they were actually taste the same. We also ordered a shrimp wonton noodle soup and it’s $ 10.99. It’s not worth at all and you can make better at home I promise. Anyway. I gave my try already.

As the name indicates, excellent dumplings AND one of the best orange chicken I’ve had yet. We tried two types of dumplings(both steamed) and I especially enjoyed the chicken dumpling with soup. The orange chicken was tender served with the greenest broccoli I’ve seen! My only concern was that the waitress forgot our soup… which was actually a good thing because I don’t think we had room for the soup. If the soup(I love Hot and Sour soup) is good, I’ll probably change the rating to 5⁄5.

My husband and I came here on two separate occasions for Saturday lunch as an alternative to driving to Chinatown. Both times, the food was decent. Pan fried pork chives dumplings — We got this the first time we went, and they were brought out steamed. We told our waitress we wanted them fried, so she took them back. When she brought them back out, they were not as crispy as we liked and rather soggy, so I’m assuming the chef just fried the ones we originally had. The taste was good though, but we would have enjoyed them more if they were fried to begin with. Scallion meat pan cake — We would recommend this. We ordered this both times, and although they tasted different each time(the first time was meatier and thicker), they were good on both occasions. Pork XLB — We would recommend this too, although the chef has yet to cook them consistently. The first time we ordered them, half of them had no soup inside and the other half were great. The second time we ordered them, they were more consistent. We wish they would provide soup spoons though(seems rather intuitive to give soup spoons for soup dumplings…) Now to rate the service: not good. Both times, service was really slow and food took awhile to be delivered. If they improve their service and consistency, we will give it another try.

My bf and i decided to give this place a try since we heard from a friend that it was sooo good. We ordered pan fried seafood udon, crab soup dumplings and pan fried pork dumplings. Everything was just ok. The service was a little on the slow side. We received regular silver spoons for our soup dumplings which I felt was a waste because as soon as my dumpling popped, the broth just gushed everywhere but the spoon. It definitely wasn’t worth the drive for us and will probably not come back

I was so excited by the prospect of a great Xiao Long Bao(soup dumpling) restaurant in SL, but it looks like it’ll be worth the drive to Chinatown instead. My friend’s crab and pork XLB came out in 20 minutes. Our orders of pork XLB, however, took 30MORE minutes! The food came out slowly and at random times. I’d suggest sharing, so that not just one person at the table feasts while the others drool. The Xiao long bao were pretty horrible at 6 for $ 8. There were only forks provided; we had to request chopsticks and spoons. Really? These should be standard at any respectable XLB place. A few XLB had already popped upon arrival at our table. The texture of the meat was mushy and unappealing. The skin was sticky and thin, which made it difficult to pick up with chopsticks without tearing and spilling soup everywhere. Dumplings were decent. No lunch special on weekends, although the menu does not state so. Not impressed.

What you’re paying for here are the pretty plates and the location, not the food you’re eating. I was really excited about a good dumpling place in Sugar Land, but Dumplings N More is definitely not as good as places in Chinatown. The pork soup dumplings(xiao long bao) and regular pork boiled dumplings tasted pretty good, but they were really overpriced for the amount of food you get. Like other people, the prices here are my main complaint. BUT, the dumplings had great flavor! And I was really impressed with the wrappers for the XLB. They were thin and delicate, but didn’t break very easily and they had a nice chew to them. The inside was juicy and delicious too, but at $ 8 for 6, they’re quite pricey. The boiled dumplings come ~$ 8 for 15, which sounds like a pretty good deal(especially compared to the steamed/pan fried dumplings) but they’re actually not because they’re super tiny. I usually take 2 – 3 bites to eat a normal dumpling, but I popped the ones here into my mouth like candy. They’re cute since they’re small, and I personally like the higher wrapper-to-filling ratio, but they’re still really overpriced. I can see people being very disappointed with bite-sized(fun-sized?) dumplings. Veggie boiled dumplings were not good at all. The filling tasted burnt somehow and there wasn’t very much of it. I wouldn’t get this again. All in all, the food here generally has good flavor but small portion sizes. The service is also slow and rather inattentive. It’s worth a try for the XLB though!

What’s all the hype about? Tried the pork soup dumplings, crab soup dumplings, and egg drop soup. Everything was bland IMO. I prefer FuFu’s over this.

My only real complaint about this place is the price… it is way too expensive for what it is! And what is it? It’s a dumpling/noodle house in the suburbs of Sugarland… which is probably why the prices are high. There are bills to pay! The food, though, is good. The soup dumplings are a hit… and a must order each and every time. The pan fried dumplings were good… but overpriced and each order only comes with 8. Contrast that with the Arirang restaurant in Chinatown, which makes the best dumplings, and you’ll realize why you may get more house in the suburbs, but the food is seriously lacking compared to the city. Either way, if you are stuck in Sugarland and running low on gas… then the high prices of this dumpling house may offset the price of a gallon at the pumps.

A 3-star dumpling restaurant with 2-star service. After finding out through the Unilocal app that there’s a new Chinese dumpling restaurant serving up xiao long baos(soup dumplings), my in-laws, hubby and I decided to check it out on a Sunday evening. Located right next door to Shipley’s Donuts on the corner of Highway 6 and Williams Trace, Dumpling N More is easy to find with plenty of parking in the complex lot. The interior is quite spacious and clean. Although we were one of the first parties to be seated for dinner service, the dining area eventually became half-full by the time we left — not bad for a newly opened restaurant on a Sunday evening. When we were seated, we initially were nervous when we saw a lot of Americanized Chinese dishes on the menu(i.e. Mongolian Beef, General Tso’s Chicken). So we spoke to the Chinese waiter that we were here for the authentic stuff, and he directed us to not waste our time and go straight for the dumplings on the menu. Beyond that though, the waiter wasn’t too familiar with the menu and couldn’t tell us specifics of what each dish was. So we had to trust our instincts and ordered a few dishes: House Special Pan Fried Bun — 4.0÷5.0 — A pretty good version of my favorite types of dumplings/buns. There are 6 pieces of these 2-inch goodies, each with thick bread and pan fried to deliciousness. However, the meat filling was pretty sparse. Dipping sauce was pretty tasty. Pan Fried Pork Chives Dumplings — 3.0÷5.0 — A slightly tastier take on your average potsticker dish, since you can tell it was handmade. 8 pieces per order. Pork Boiled Dumplings — 2.5÷5.0 — Pretty bland and small 1.5-inch dumplings, though there are 15 pieces per order. I wouldn’t bother eating this again. Scallion Meat Pan Cake — 4.0÷4.0 — An interesting take on cong you bing(scallion pancake). It’s breadier, thicker, and filled with minced chicken, pork, and shrimp. This is a good appetizer for 4 people. Brisket Beef Noodle Soup — 2.0÷5.0 — My father-in-law had this, and he said he’s had better. Another testament to just sticking to the dumplings and similar dishes. Crab and Pork Meat Xiao Long Bao — 3.5÷5.0 — A pretty good version of xiao long bao, though 1 of the 6 dumplings had no soup in it(gasp!). These took forever and a half to get to our table, so don’t be surprised if you’re waiting 20+ minutes for it. Though I was pretty impressed with their dumplings for Sugar Land’s standards, I was pretty disappointed by the service. They only had two people running the front of the restaurant, and neither was really experienced or knew much about the menu. Dishes came out at weird times, and we waited a really long time for our last dish to come out. To top it off, the waiter was hasty in getting our signed check, leaving his dirty rag and stacked dirty dishes on our table. Overall, I think it’s a worthwhile place to check out if you’re in the Sugar Land area, as I hope they’ll improve their service over the next few weeks.

I’m always a fan of chinese dumplings. I was intrigued one day to see this place just pop up one day, and went in to see how it was. It was amazing! Is a somewhat small place, but it was nice and comfortable. I ordered several types of dumplings in the menu as well as the beef udon. They were all really good. The bao soup dumplings are really delightful! Highly recommend them. The udon noodles was delicious and the sauce was not overbearing. The other dumplings offered are quite good. This place is awesome when it comes to dumplings. I will have to come back to try their other food selections, but it is worth the trip for the dumplings!

It’s hard to believe this used to be a gelato shop. It’s been completely transformed from what it once was. The ambiance would be better if they’d turn off the TV in the dining room. The soup dumplings(Xio Long Bao) were a letdown to me. E-Tao in the Galleria does a much better job on those. The rest of the dumplings and the scallion pancakes we had were pretty good — good enough that we want to return. The price was reasonable, too: dinner for 2 came to under $ 30 before tip. There are better dumplings to be had in Houston, but not in Sugar Land, and it’s a lot easier to get into this shopping center than it is to get into any of the places on Bellaire or to get into the Galleria for E-Tao this time of year. If you’re not sure what you want, do what we did and ask the server for suggestions.

Came here for a To Go order during Thanksgiving break. To my surprise I see the lady who I get dumplings from at work in Greenway Plaza. She owns the Tenpayakki restaurant in the food court(small world). She comes over and says hi and we chit chat for a bit. I just want to say that since this was taken To Go I know the food would have tasted better if I had eaten it there while it was still steaming hot. This place is located in the same center as Shipleys. Not the most well decorated place but it’s good enough. I wanted to stick with purely the dumplings but I went against what i thought which ultimately ended up with me picking a bad dish. Soup Dumplings: they were actually surprisingly good. maybe the size of the Ding Tai Fung dumplings which are a little smaller but it’s fine with me so long as it taste good. this is probably their signature dish. I’d eat it again! Pan Fried Seafood Dumplings: these were also pretty decent, not as good as the soup dumplings but nevertheless not too bad. Green Onion Pancake: i was craving it but when it gets cold its all soggy and wet so I really cant rate this as it wasnt their fault. Seafood Noodles: dont get it… this is a dumpling place so just stick with that My only qualm about this place is that they need to keep things more organized. I have heard this complain from more than one person that they look lost bringing orders out. They might give your order to someone who came after you etc you know what i mean. I waited for 35 – 45 minutes for my order which wasnt that complex and I was the only person who ordered To Go. There were only like 4 tables with people eating. People who came after me ate and left and I still hadnt gotten my order. This is bad for business and will definitely upset customers. They are new so I will give them that much. Just step it up a little and it will be good. Hopefully it wont happen again!

YES! Went last night and I am ecstatic! This is THE spot to get your XLB fix. I was so sad when my goto spot for soup dumplings moved out of town a few months ago so you can only imagine how happy I was after trying a new place that made Xiao Long Bao just the way I like em! Fresh and steaming — made to order, broth so yummy and not too much where it explodes everywhere with the first bite, juicy meat so tender and the thin but perfect wrapper that holds all that deliciousness in one piece. Oh maaan, ok that’s it. I’m going again tonight. The Siu Mai also were very good. The meat they use tastes so fresh and well seasoned. Green Onion pancake was thin and crispy. Yummy amount of green onions. Maybe just a tiny touch too salty. I’d still order them though lol

This place just opened up a few days ago and definitely has some kinks to work out still, but overall, the food is way above what I was expecting. When I say«the food», I’m only speaking in terms of dumplings though. I unfortunately opted to not order dumplings at a dumpling specialty house, my bad. I had the Beef & Broccoli which tasted pretty standard. I’ve never had good Chinese food, anywhere. It all pretty much tastes the same to me. The wifey got the XLB dumplings and the Sui Mai dumplings, both were GREAT. The XLB dumplings had a nice bed of soup hidden inside, the meat itself was flavorful and came out hot and steamy. The pricing is pretty on point too, about $ 5.95 for the Sui Mai and $ 7.95 for the XLB(order of 6). Some things to watch out for… Clarify your order. Our waitress was really nice but ended up bringing out the wrong entrée initially. The menu is numbered 1 – 10 on each page so clarify which one you’re ordering from. The dumpling orders have a number next to them indicating(or what I assume is indicating) how many dumplings come with that order. I don’t think we ever got the correct amount. We were brought a random egg roll that we didn’t order but appeared on our recent. Not only did it appear on our recent, it was charged at $ 1.50 when the egg rolls are sold at $ 1.00 on the menu. Not a huge deal, but still a little bit of a turn off. If the dumplings weren’t so damn good I would’ve disputed this. The managers/owners seem to be really sincere too, we were brought a free milk tea because of the order mishap. All in all, we will DEFINITELY be back because the dumplings were amazing. Very fresh, tender, moist and presentable in their cool little wicker basket things they come out in. GOODJOBDUMPLINGHOUSE!
