Had a lunch there today after a while, ordered chicken curry in a goa vindaloo style, food was mediocre at best, curry was watery and pre made, nan and rice were nice, ordered tea to go with that(chai), it was not that great, and they didn’t have the right kind of lid to go with that so had to throw it away since I had asked to go

I used to LOVE Masala Wok. The food was hot fresh and tasteful. My two last recent visits were EXTREMELY disappointing. They’ve changed the recipes to everything and the food is now actually gag worthy. Not worth a dime! SO disappointed!!!

Pathetic food. Extra salty, excessive use of soy sauce and too greasy. All the Asian dishes we tried tasted horrible. The chef didn’t have the slightest clue what he was cooking. We have visited other Masala Wok locations and tried the exact same dishes a number of times and they tasted good. The sugarland location sucks. I would never recommend this Masala Wok to anybody.

Masala wok continues to go further down the tubes compared to its original restaurant back in Dallas. Hakka noodles were old and drenched in oil and sauce… No vegetables at all except plenty of onions… Sauce is non existent in all its curry dishes… You will always have to ask for more… Guaranteed… For a small fee… A SMILEGOES A LONGWAYWHENYOURECEIVESERVICE…

Gets the job done for quick North Indian Food. Chicken Tikka Masala Good. All the wraps with Tikka sauce and wok veggies goood. Biriyani GOOOOOOD. I also love the fact that there’s something for everyone. I have a group of super picky friends that complain about every single place, but all of them can find something on the menu that makes this place great. I would have given more stars, but the quality of service has dropped significantly.

Food is decent but the customer service is horrible. especially with the new african american women taking orders while being on her phone texting. all the booths were empty because no one could sit on since they were not cleaned and the staff didn’t care to clean it… i would think twice before going here again. i can only imagine how dirty their kitchen is if the front is so bad!

Great customer service and food was great! You better like spicy food if you get Indian!(I’m sweating as I write this review)

Food was expanses, taste of Indian food was very bad, order shrimp masala and chicken masala both taste very sweet, naan was pre– cook, rice was old cook yesterday, order fried rice was good, Mongolian beef was okay, but service was good, cashier knew what he was doing, and friendly. I guess you need good order taker go there, if you want good Indian food go to Indian restaurant, if you need chines food go to chines restaurant.

We got the spring rolls to munch on before hand and it was great! I got the onion based curry and OMG. My husband got the spicy curry and it was SPICY. Both dishes were great and our son got the kids yummy noodle. Good pricing and great food!

Quick & delicious. I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. I’ve only been there a handful of times, but the food has always tasted excellent.

Their bowls of Indian food aren’t bad BUT most of the tables are dirty either not cleaned off or just dirty and sticky. The floor doesn’t look much better

I loved the food! Didn’t think I would like fusion food especially of Indian and Asian but it was very appetizing.

I recently stopped by the sugar land location for the Butter Masala I kept hearing so much about. For starters I ordered the 4 pc chicken lollipops and they were not only delicious but also huge! I was recommended to try then with their sweet chili sauce and they were certainly right about the recommendation. The butter Masala came with your choice of chicken lamb shrimp paneer or veggies. I ordered mine with shrimp and took their recommendation of garlic naan and steam rice. The portion was enough for two and it was certainly filling. It’s definitely a dish I would have again. The servers/cashiers were very attentive and made sure there was not problems since it was my first time having this particular dish.

Went to get dinner here after some convincing since I usually go to the Masala Wok in Austin. Apparently the whole corporation for Masala Wok changed, which apparently changed many of the recipes. Everything tastes blander, portions are smaller and the service is even worse. There also used to be an option where you could get your dishes medium, hot, extra hot which is now gone. How to order: Order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. The menu is split into Indian and Asian options. On the Indian menu, there are things like Chicken and Lamb Tikka Masala, Wraps and Rolls, Paneer and Chicken 65, Manchurian, Malai Kofta. On the Asian Menu, there is the usual Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Green and Red Curry and so forth. I recommend getting the noodles– they usually taste better than the dishes with rice in my opinion. What we got/quality: This time around I got the Chili Paneer and my boyfriend got the Blazing Noodles. The blazing noodles were acceptable but they had this wet towel smell that is just unbearable to me. As for the Chili Paneer– it was probably the worst I have ever had. There were only a few pieces of paneer, full of onions and a whole bunch of gravy. The gravy was super bland and tasted like flour, water, and cornstarch mixed together. I would really recommend NOT ordering the Chili Paneer. I usually get the Mango Lassi at Masala Wok but it’s $ 3 and you get a little bit in a tall skinny glass. It’s not worth the $ 3 in my opinion. If you want a drink after your meal, head on over to Dulce Tapioca and get yourself a mango cream blend! Price: $$ 8-$ 15 Service: The service wasn’t great. The person taking our order was distracted the whole time with another customer which I thought was unprofessional. Ambiance: Casual chain, can be a study spot, family-oriented dining. Final Verdict: I won’t ever be returning to this Masala Wok. However, the one in Austin, maybe.

Stopped by this place on a whim since I was craving Indian food. Good for me this place is close to my house too. It can help satisfy my craving and it’s also a fast food style(like panda express) place. The place was very clean and brightly lit which I liked. The guy at the front was very patient and helpful with me since i didn’t know what i wanted to order. The menu has two parts to it the Indian style side and the Chinese Style side. You pick a dish, then you pick your meat and finally your carbohydrates. So after asking a few questions I decided to order the Butter Masala(got it spicy) with lamb and naan/rice. You get your drinks and utensils on the side. Got my food in about 5 minutes, they bring you the food to you. The food was actually better than I expected to my surprise. It had a pretty rich flavor and nice spices, there was quite a bit of lamb meat in the dish as well. The spiciness was just right especially when missed with the rice and naan. There was only 2 pieces of naan but there was quite a bit of rice. The dish was pretty filling and I couldn’t finish it. So the portions are considered very well. The food is just good enough as I have had much better Indian restaurants but it’s actually quite satisfying if you are craving Indian and have nothing else.

Quick Tips: Why do you come to Masala Wok — for fast fairly good Indo-Asian food, unfortunately not cheap. However with Masala Woks, you need to be careful on which location you go to. I have seen a large range of quality in the food. I would say this Masala Wok is one of the better chain locations. Food: I get one thing and one thing only — paneer tikka masala. This location has good paneer and the sauce is not too thick or too thin. Service: Decent Ambiance: Casual chain.

I think this place is a good Indian restaurant for non Indians. They have a good variety, a very clean atmosphere and nice seating. It runs more like a pei wei or chipotle in the sense that you order up front and they bring it out our you go get it. More fast food feel. I like their options because there is something for everyone. They also have a good fusion selection. Combine that with a refreshing mango lassi with pistachio and you have a decent meal going. If you want hardcore Indian, then go elsewhere. If you ate in a rush and have a big group, go here

I have been ill for 2 days after that cheap-meat lamb-curry and it’s the ONLY thing that could have made me sick. Disgusted. And most definitely won’t be going back!
