Went there on 3÷8÷2015 and the service was lacking in enthusiasm. The food was better than subway but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat the sandwiches here.

The earl sandwich is amazing and the chipotle chicken with avocado was just as good according to my friend. The atmosphere reminds me of panera bread. Good customer service and the sandwiches are always served hot! They don’t have too many in Houston so if you see one, stop by and try one of their classic subs. I don’t know if it was the sauce or what but just writing about the Earl is making my mouth water.

I’ve passed by this place on several occasions but never stopped… we had the club sandwich and the caprese sandwich… both were ok but nothing special… if comparing with subway or quiznos the full size sandwich is about 6 inches, give or take an inch… it wasn’t bad but definitely won’t go out of my way to return

First time stopping by. Menu looked good. Restaurant smelled good. I got the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Admittedly, I’m not an avid Philly cheesesteak eater; however, I’m pretty sure it shouldn’t include undercooked meat. In the middle of my brown meat was a huge red chunk of undercooked(I’d reckon not at all) meat. Otherwise, the sandwich was decent. I was extremely hungry so not looking for a 5 star sandwich, but considering I chose this place over Panera next door I was disappointed. Nothing about this place that would make me come back, especially considering the multitude of restaurants in the area.

Run don’t walk away. This place has gone all the way down the hill since our last visit(about a year ago — we go for the holiday sand which) Service was terrible, fountain station was a mess, bathroom was full of torn pieces of TP and a dirty diaper, crumbs on tables, and our food came out wrong… but we were the only customers! We won’t be back.

I have only ordered the sandwiches because I like the white Artisan bread so much. I usually have the The Full Montagu because I really like everything that is put on that very tasty sandwich. It is all about the white Artisan bread that keeps me coming back. Unfortunately, the Roast Beef has been very tough the last few times and if it happens again, I am going to talk to them about it. For a change of habit, I will order the Original Sandwich 1762 without horseradish sauce or the Italian on white Artisan bread occasionally.

This place sounds so interesting with great website food pictures, but the sandwiches are tiny. The roast beef was hard to chew on my first visit, and the Earl Grey lemonade was a mistake. This last visit was slightly better, aside from the holiday brownie topped with busted candy canes. I wish I could figure out what other people see in this place.

Ordered two tuna melts to go, both were burned to the crisp and did not find out until I got home. Called and they said they never burn sandwiches. It wasn’t worth the long drive back just to get them to remake it. It went into the trash. What a waste of money.

Better than Subway! I came here on my way out of town and had a half sandwich and a cup of broccoli cheese soup. The Earl of Club sandwich was pretty tasty. It was reminiscent of Quizno’s sandwiches from the toastiness, but it had better things going on with the bacon, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. The broccoli cheese soup was pretty good as well and had big chunks of broccoli. It was a nice amount of food overall. My friend said her chipotle chicken avocado sandwich was a tad sweet from the sauce though. I thought the Earl Grey lemonade flavor was weak, which was disappointing. I’d come back, but wouldn’t drive out of my way to go here. And Potbelly is still probably my fav sandwich place.

when they first open this sandwich shop I was really surprise to find out we are the first store in Texas! there are few others only in the bigger cities in US. I was more than honored and very proud to say sugar land finally have something worth me praising for. the sandwich here are the best I have ever tasted. the earls club especially. I have tried others but this is my absolutely favoritr. the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted on top of the good amount of meat they provide you with their signature sauce. THE. BEST. not to mention the friendly worker and the speed they produce such good quality food at such little time! I love this place with all my heart and when I leave Sugar Land in the future this is going to be the only place I will miss.

Tony is a stupendous genuine employee. He is friendly and capable. My decision to return to eat here is based mostly on how well I was treated during my first visit. Tony rocks.

Delicious sammiches! I’ve tried the Full Montagu and it is just awesome! Loaded with a generous amount of roasted beef and turkey, with gooey melted Swiss and Cheddar cheese inside a 6″ roll that is baked very crispy on the bottom, oh la laaa, it is soooooo freaking yummy! The brownie is alright and not too sweet. I definitely would go back to try the Holiday Turkey sandwich(note: I wanted to get the turkey sandwich this time but the sammich maker said, «No Gravy!» GgrrrRRRrRrr!!) Anyhoos, service was awful; the staff just worked like they didnt wanna work at all! GgrrrRRRrRrr!(x 2) In conclusion, the sandwiches were good. Try it!

Granted their $ 6.99 lunch special of half a sandwich(which is kinda tiny) and a cup of soup of your choice is not as cheap as some other Sammy places(ie: Subway) but it’s tasty and a good midday meal. I love their turkey chili and usually get a cup of that with a different half a sandwich. The Original is still my fav: Roasted beef, cheddar & horseradish sauce. And I would love The Full Montagu: Roasted beef, turkey, Swiss, cheddar, lettuce, tomato & mustard sauce — except the mustard sauce is always weird to my taste buds. Maybe I should ask for the horseradish sauce which I love! Be aware their soups are not all available everyday. Fortunately the turkey chili is! They have gluten free stuff, Pepsi products and fancy teas. Their bread is light and toasty. It really is the best bread of all the sandwich places(Subway, Quiznos) and I really like the jalapeño bread at Subway.

Great place with nice gourmet sandwiches. I love their bread! It is nice fresh and toasty. I mainly come here for the Holiday Turkey with cranberry sauce, stuffing and gravy. The original 1762 is really good too with roast beef and horseradish sauce. They have really good drink options and fresh baked goods.

I was visiting Houston this past weekend and went to Earl of Sandwich with my dad and nephew. They both had been there before, but it was my first visit. I was pretty disappointed. The place itself was kind of shabby looking… dirty tables, chairs arranged haphazardly, etc. The girl behind the counter was not very friendly and seemed to not like her job much. And then, the kicker was that I ordered chicken noodle soup with my sandwich, paid, sat down, and had to be told when I was picking up my food that they were out of chicken noodle soup. That would have been nice to know when I ordered. Overall the food was not bad, although a bit expensive, but the lackluster service and poor ambiance ensured that I won’t be going back any time soon.

I LOVE this place. Their bread is awesome and it is just not your typical sandwich shop. However, I’ve noticed we stopped going here a while ago. We had MANY occasions where we got our food and were severely disappointed. The hot sandwiches were dead cold and the employees were rude when asked about it. I think we could still come here if it hadn’t happened so often, but it was more times than not that we had a bad experience. Besides the fact that the Earl is pretty pricey for a sandwich. I will admit that it is good(when it’s made properly) and far above average. But I just can’t seem to spend that much on a sandwich and not feel buyers remorse. Unfortunately, this location lacks in consistency and doesn’t make it as a frequently attended restaurant for us anymore.

When I was searching for restaurants in Vegas, I found a restaurant called Earl of Sandwich which was one of the highest rated and most reviewed restaurants on Unilocal.I wanted to try it in Vegas but was told that there was one in Houston so I waited until I got home. I finally had the opportunity to try Earl of Sandwich yesterday while I was in Sugar Land. My mom, sister and I shared the Holiday Turkey Sandwich and the Tuna Melt. Both sandwiches were delicious! This sandwich chain is the best I’ve tried in Houston. The bread is amazing! I enjoyed the Tuna Melt which had tuna and cheese but the Holiday Turkey Sandwich was much more flavorful. The Holiday Turkey sandwich had turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy, and stuffing! The second time I came, my mom, sister, and I shared the Full Montague and Chipotle Chicken Avocado sandwiches. The Full Montague was my favorite out of these two because it was more flavorful. I liked that the Chipotle Chicken Avocado was a little spicy though. They were out of all soups except tomato and their bathroom was out of toilet paper for the day but they said«they were working on it». These sandwiches aren’t the healthiest of sandwiches but they’re super yummy, filling, and fairly affordable at $ 6 a sandwich.

Typically people indulge in chocolatey desserts, but for me, I indulge in sandwiches. Earl’s sandwiches. They’re rich, satisfying, and probably just as calorie-laden as any dessert. I’ve been here enough times to get 2 free sandwiches(after buying 20, mind you) and the Holiday Turkey is always one of my top choices. I wouldn’t mind just eating this sandwich on Thanksgiving… I might even prefer it? Other good options include the Hawaiian BBQ(although a bit sweet for my taste now), Cannonballs, and the Tuna Melt. The sandwiches are all a bit greasy, but only in the best way possible.

I don’t go to Earl of Sandwich nearly as often as I would like… it’s just far away enough from work where it’s hard to get there and back within thirty minutes, but I have never been disappointed when I’ve gone. The one sandwich that I love more than anything else is their Holiday Sandwich which I think came back on the menu as of October 1st. It’s a bunch of things that I wouldn’t necessarily believe I would enjoy together, but when I ate it last year it made me giddy. It’s turkey with stuffing, gravy, cranberries and it’s warm and oh so comforting! I can’t wait to get one this year. When the holiday sandwich isn’t an option I like a lot of their vegetarian sandwiches. In general the bread is really great, I don’t know what it would be classified as but it’s fresh and delicious. The tomato basil soup has croutons made with the bread and it’s really good. It’s not as creamy as La Madeleine, it has much more tomato and less cream. Delicious. The drink you should at least try once is the Earl Grey Tea and lemonade mix. Yum!

The bread here is what makes this place stand out to me & you get a nice size for the price. I wish there were more locations across the city. It’s a nice alternative to some the other Sandwich shops with more locations.
