I just stopped by yesterday for some last minute ham and sides for Christmas and New Years dinner. There was a line but it moved extremely fast with several people working. Of course the ham was wonderful as usual but I also purchased a blueberry coffee cake for breakfast. I just had to post a comment on this delicious cake! It came frozen so I just set it out to thaw overnight. It is hands down the best coffee cake I have ever had! It’s super moist and full of juicy blueberries with swirls of cinnamon and brown sugar. I only hope that this is available all year and not just a holiday special. If so I will be going back frequently just for coffee cake!

What can I say about a place that sells ham? I came here two days before thanksgiving with intentions to get a ham and skip off to my car but that didn’t happen. The line was wrapped all the way around the building, almost into the street. I wasn’t really complaining, I knew what type of mess I was getting myself into. The people in the line were really friendly, and helped me figure out what I should ask for once I got up to the counter. I think I may have waited about 30 minutes total, and then paid $ 65 for an 11lb ham. I would recommend looking online for a coupon before showing up because that takes a nice chunk out of the total price. Oh, and my family loved the ham. My cousins dog even hopped on the table and helped himself, it was that good.

Excellent products and service! Just wish the line not too long, I wait about 1 hour to get the stuff.

Came in a weekday during lunch to order a salad. One cashier, 4 customers in line, slow service, waited ten minutes to be told they weren’t making anymore salads. Entire experience was unlike previous visits to other locations. Obviously a franchise.

We’ve been getting our ham here for the past few years just right before Christmas. In the previous years, we’ve never really had to wait too long in line. However, this year, everyone probably had the same idea about going right at 9am… so there was quite a line outside the store when we got there around opening time, but it hadn’t wrapped around the building yet. It was a bit on the chilly side this morning and my mom and I dressed warmly. Although the line was long, it moved pretty quickly. I’ve always been impressed with how well and efficiently this store is in handling the crazy masses of people during the holidays. Even while standing outside, one of the store employees was out there talking to customers who had any questions about all the options available. Once inside the store, there was someone by the fridge helping out if you wanted any sides or desserts. There were about 6 – 7 stations at the front counter for checking out. At the front counter, you told them what kind of meat/size you wanted, they’d go get it, unwrap it for you to inspect, and then you’re ready to pay and go along your merry way. Total time spent waiting and checking out was about 15 – 20 mins, which is not bad at all, considering the length of the line we were in. Had we shown up later, we would have been stuck with the line wrapped around the building. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the friendly and attentive service. The Sugarland store definitely is indeed a well-oiled machine. They are always prepared to handle the masses efficiently and effectively during the holidays. Honeybaked Ham Company – thank you for making my Christmas dinner complete!!! INSIDERTIPS: 1) Sign up for their email list to get the latest info on specials and coupons. 2) Reserve your ham/turkey/etc online and be sure to print out the confirmation to bring along to the store. 3) They open at 9am a few days before Christmas so I think arriving before opening time would be advantageous! 4) Dress appropriately for the unpredictable Houston weather!

Who wants to cook for Thanksgiving? We certainly didn’t, so we went online, reserved a ham, and planned to pick it up the day before Thanksgiving. Why didn’t anyone warn us that there would be over an hour long line that wrapped around the building? I arrived and was blown away at the line. I then went away, came back later and the line was still about 90 minutes long. I determined the length by asking people who were close to the front how long they’d been in line. My husband and I then tag teamed the line as I went and printed coupons and our confirmation email. We got through the line in about 75 minutes. Once inside the store, things were organized and moved quickly. The staff there were a well oiled machine and had obviously weathered a few holidays before. We purchased a 5.25 pound ham coated in a crunchy brown sugar coating. We also got scalloped potatoes and cinnamon apples. They were running a special and we got all of that for $ 51. The hams are priced by the size. I think Honey Baked Ham makes a great product. I was impressed how quickly the incredibly long line moved. I was also impressed how quickly the payment process was. And we didn’t feel rushed or overwhelmed when we walked in. We’ll be back for all of our holiday meals because they not only do ham, but also turkey and other meats!
