I’ve been eating at Texan Grill since the day they’ve opened. This is a husband/wife diner, so I always support the«little» people. I usually get a burger(made fresh), gyro, or the chicken goat cheese wrap. Each time, the food has been great. I also order the fries extra crispy. The woman taking your money is the wife. Most of the time I’ve seen her very friendly to customers. Other days I’ve seen her with a frown, but never impolite or rude. Either way, everyone has their bad days. The guy cooking is the husband. He rarely works the counter and does all the cooking. I don’t understand why people give this place bad reviews. Pricey? Go next door to Jack in the Box if you want something cheap and eat all their preformed frozen foods you want. Give Texan Grill bad reviews because you wanted a chicken salad split and didn’t get much chicken? What do you expect?! Do you really expect them to «split» your salad and put the same amount of chicken on both salads as they do on one? Geez! In a day when we as diners complain about the chain restaurants taking over, I’m surprised people complain about the little things with a small establishment. Maybe it’s the people who expect more but expect to pay less. Who knows. I’ll always enjoy my meals at Texan Grill. In fact, I’m going to go there today.

We love this place! The lady whom I also believe is the owner is so friendly and nice. She always greets you with a smile and I feel like she knows all of her customers by name! She makes you feel at home! The place is always clean and the food is always fresh! The portions are great and everything is always cooked to perfection! Look forward to going back again and again! Thank you keep up the good work.

Food is very expensive! The owner has always a bitchy attitude. They will split a chicken breast for two orders! You ended up eating lettuce and paying $ 12.00. Not worth it.

Fat and happy! Pretty much sums it up, service is great and the food is just as better. Thumbs up and 5 stars! Absolutely delicious, if you have a chance get the lite chicken salad wrap you will have leftovers and ready to take a nap.

I grabbed a Philly Cheesesteak from this place and it’s surprisingly BLAND. No flavor at all. The older lady there wasn’t the friendliest to me but wasn’t rude. I told her I was hungry and what did she think was the best(not expecting for her to «put» one item over the other) the chicken sandwich or Philly. her response was«well they’re both good» I guess I expected something else. The Philly was bland I mean at lease they could have used salt and pepper geesh. I won’t go back due to the flavor and the sandwich being about 8 bucks, I’d rather go to La Fonda next door… yummmm

Upside: Friendly staff and good food. I’ve had a burger, onion rings and caesar salad. All good. Next time I might get dressing on the side as the salad had a bit too much for my personal taste. Their onion rings are really good with some spicy sriracha to dip in. Downside: The place/fixtures could use a good spring cleaning. The place is more than just old and rundown inside, it’s got some built up grunge. With a deep scrub, I’d give this place 4 stars and recommend it as a great place for a quick bite at lunch.

This place is a joke! I have been a customer of this establishment for a few years. I usually visit a few times a week(i WORKNEARBY). i LOVE Mr Clyde and if it was just him there, I would still be a customer Being that Mrs Cynthia knows me by name, one day I asked for a cup of water(THATMRCLYDE said was no charge. Cynthia comes to the register and asks me for a $ 1. What the hell? She charged me a $ 1 for a cup of water. Had I known that, I would have bought a can soda. If this is how you treat a repeat customer, you can forget about my investment in this place. I will take my business elsewhere.

Neat little mom and pop place with Texas friendly folk and decent food. Their burgers are satisfying and their loaded baked potatoes are what I order the most from their menu. I mostly go for lunch since I work across the street and I have yet to try more of their menu but seriously what I enjoy the most about this place is their service. It’s hard to find genuinely nice restaurant folk nowadays and when I do I’m more than glad to give them my hard earned money in exchange for some grub.

This place used to be so good! I was recently very disappointed. This place no longer has the quality burgers it once had.

Why Can, t we give 2 ½ stars, I’ve had better but would go back if invited. Nice little place, Friendly workers. The burger had a good flavor but a little on the dry side. The Fries there very good, Think cut crinkle cut. But the amount of the order was WAY to small. IF that work on that it would be a good place to go more often.

I really appreciate the freshly made turkey burger patties that Texan Grill has to offer. Not many of the burger joints near the office offer turkey burgers. It’s nice to be able to come with a small group of(not so health-conscious) co-workers and get something better than a greasy burger(which they do have, and I am told they are great! The lady that runs the register is very friendly and eager to please, and not it that«I’m trying waaay too hard» kinda way. Just good olé ranch style hospitality!

I am going to echo on the established norm on this little diner. It’s a mom-and-pop diner that services mostly during the lunch rush. They do have a list of «blue plate» specials on the side. On their regular menu, it is mostly sandwiches or burgers of some kind. If you order a burger or chicken sandwich, it will just come with the meat and the buns, you will need to get the condiments yourself. I had their hamburger once and it’s pretty decent, about a step up from fast food hamburger that you could get next door. But the fries is obviously pre-frozen fries you could get in large bulk from wholesale stores. Of all the times I’ve ate there during lunch, none of the foods are ever memorable or having me come back for more. I believe the only reason I ever went back there is 1. Murphy’s Deli’s line is very long 2. I don’t feel like walking to Jack-In-The-Box. Also, sometimes if you think about the quality of the food, the price you paid may not worth it at all. Over all I would say shop somewhere else for lunch unless there’s really no other choices on that strip for food.

I’ve driven by this place hundreds of times and have only now got around to trying it. Like Melissa already said, this is your everyday independent diner. They offer burgers, wraps, cheesesteaks and much more. After glancing at the menu for a few minutes, I decided to get the grilled chicken sandwich combo. I wish I had read Robert’s review sooner because I was leaning towards getting a cheesesteak but since it didn’t come as a combo, I settled on the grilled chicken. The lady at the register was really nice and while it seems like this place doesn’t have waiter service, she was nice enough to bring us our food. The grilled chicken wasn’t anything that blew me away. It was an average sandwich and the fries were also average. One thing that wasn’t made clear to me when I placed my order was that a drink is not included with the combo. I wish I had known this sooner because that was $ 2 extra! Overall, this place delivers a variety of diner food in an average manner. It isn’t the best in town but it is still enjoyable. The prices may be a little high but if you’re able to lay off the drink, you can come out paying what you would pay at a fast food joint. For a little variety in your everyday eats, it’s worth giving this place a try if diners are your cup of tea.

I agree with Robert M that this is your everyday independent diner. Nothing special here and the problem is is a little less than average. I went in always on the hunt for the perfect cheap lunch. I ordered a chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink. My food came quickly. I was confused when the lady told me(when I ordered) that she would bring me my food. I noticed she was bring the few other tables their food and so I started reading my book. Then I realized that the cook was yelling at me «Lady here is your sandwich. Hey Lady! Here’s your food!» Dang! Just bring it to me like everyone else OR give me a number OR take my name. The yelling thing isn’t cool. So, I fixed up my sandwich with the do-it-yourself condiments bar. The chicken itself was just so-so. The french fries were just so-so as well. I didn’t expect anything too amazing, but the place gave me no reason to come back. I will also add that one of the cooks really gives everyone eating the evil eye. I don’t know what his deal is, but it’s not a friendly look. Overall, there are several other options in the same strip mall including a Mexican place and a Murphy’s deli. Texan Grill would be my last choice.

Just your average-looking, everyday independent diner, but the service is very friendly and personal and the Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches are outstanding, probably the best I’ve had around Houston. Will definitely be going back soon!

Went here the other day for lunch which offers good proximity to my business. Menu is wide ranging from burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken fried steak sandwich, wraps, gyros, salads, etc. Did also offer a limited breakfast menu. I ordered a burger combo which is basically just burgers and fries. By the time you threw in a drink the total with tax was about $ 9. You do get to build your own burger, but the selection is the basics: mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatos, onions(maybe jalapenos too), ketchup, and mustard. Burger did taste good but would not rank it at the top of the list. For a hamburger at this price I would much prefer to go to Fuddruckers or Becks Prime.
