Prices: Great! Food quality: Well maybe it’s the price! Food wasn’t all that but it wasn’t bad. My friends and I thought it was similar to Denny’s but no better than ihop! Customer attention: Server wasn’t genuinely amazingly nice. She just did her job. So it was ok. Restrooms: Didn’t smell bad(ladies room) Pay at the host stand! I waited on my server for 10 mins until she told me they didn’t get to swipe cards. Will I come back? Maybe wasn’t necessarily the bomb but it had good pricing. Btw I ordered waffles with strawberry and bananas, scrambled eggs, and sausages. With that the oh so famous HAZELNUTCOFFEE! Rating of the hazelnut coffee of 1⁄10 = 7. It wasn’t all that! Really? I read a lot of people saying it was delicious. But really it wasn’t that great just basic coffee with this hazelnut taste. I can’t complain so much though I just spent $ 13 myself.

I’ve been to other locations but even at their busy peak times I’ve been served faster than I have today. I had to wait a while just to have someone come up and seat us. Then waited almost 30 minutes for the food to come up. When we walked in there were only 59ther patrons so I don’t understand what the hold up was. When we finally did get our food, the croissant sandwich I ordered fell apart. It was almost impossible to hold and the biscuit and bacon were both over done. Simply disappointed.

Honestly, I love this place and come here all the time for breakfast. The food is great, but the service is terrible. We came here on a Tuesday morning and we sat down for over an hour and still didn’t have any food. We asked the hostess if she could check on it, because we couldn’t remember the last time we saw our waiter. She never got back with an answer for us, and we ended up walking out. I honestly don’t know if I can ever eat here again, it was that terrible. You lost a valued customer. Terrible communication and terrible service.

My go to place for breakfast if I’m not rushing to go anywhere afterwards. The food is simply amazing and it feels like home! The wait is pretty long and they seem a little short staffed but with some good company, the wait is so worth it! Staff is very friendly and welcoming, they check up on you pretty often. Def recommend this place!

I ordered the blueberry pancake and dark roast coffee. The pancake was nothing special. The blueberry compote was thin and watery, and tasted off. The eggs were OK, and the bacon was tough, like it wasn’t cooked recently. I won’t be going back.

Friendly staff and decent food. It’s a chain breakfast place, so expect a chain-like atmosphere and food quality.

Absolutely Deplorable Service. Walked in at 10:30AM on a Saturday morning and placed a to-go order. Wait patiently for the food, only to find out 45 minutes later that the order has not even been started on as someone lost the order slip. What’s even worse is when I checked on the order 2 or 3 times it was always being prepared or being packed up even!!! What a waste of time. Agreed they were busy, but this level of carelessness is just messed up. Avoid like the plague. EDIT: I wrote the above when I was pretty pissed off and hungry of course :) The manager reached out to me and acknowledged the issue which is appreciated. I wish you guys the best. Cheers, K

I like the healthy veggie omelette with o’brien potatoes! It was tasty and not greasy. The kale juice was excellent.

It is a shame because my dining experiences at The Egg & I has always been average, and this may have been the only time that it would meet my expectations of a great meal, but it failed at the end. It’s always an average meal and experience, but I come back once in a while since I love eggs, and this place offers egg options. This latest meal started off bleh as they did not offer the sweet iced tea anymore, which tasted so good! Instead, they replaced it with raspberry iced tea. Why in the world they offer only raspberry tea and not iced sweet tea, I don’t know, but I do know that I didn’t enjoy the raspberry tea that the waiter incorrectly gave me after I ordered the unsweetened iced tea. Anyhow, after that, I ordered the Wisconsin egg scramble(without the cream cheese), subsitute for grits, and instead of muffin or biscuit, I got a croissant. Despite the beginning, I really enjoy the meal when I got it. The egg scramble was so delicious without the cream cheese, that I wanted to come and eat it again next time! The croissant was a great pairing with the eggs, but it quickly got hard after I finished half the meal.(The waiter also failed to mention that the croissant is an extra charge when I was ordering rather than a substitute). I am not a fan of grits, but with lots of butter and salt, it’s not bad at all. It was such an enjoyable meal that I finished mostly everything. At the end, I noticed some blue colors on the top of the dish, which was weird since my egg scramble and other foods did not have anything blue. That’s when I noticed that the side of the dishes were not clean either. I didn’t say anything, but it’s really a shame that what I feel is finally a good meal here got wasted away towards the end.

I haven’t been here since the place first opened over a year ago. Seems like the quality of the food has increased but the staff’s communication was awful. We were told that there would be a 15 minute wait, which turned into 35 minutes. If you looked out into the restaurant you could see six or seven tables, set & ready, but no one was being seated. Not even smaller parties. When I went to check on the wait time, there were so many people complaining that it was easy to see something was wrong, but the hostesses weren’t really giving any explanations. Maybe they were short staffed, or had too many new employees on the same shift, who knows? After finally sitting down, our waiter was great. He got everything right, asked about splitting checks before taking the orders, refilled drinks, & was an all around nice guy. I ordered the Belgian Waffle Express and the waffle was cooked perfectly. It came with 2 eggs(any style) and sausage patties or bacon; I chose sausage. Very good. Also, I always appreciate when the coffee carafe is left on the table so I can top of my cup. I drink slow, so I always need to warm it up! I’ll try it again, the beginning of the trip just put a bad taste in my mouth, but the food did turn it around! FYI: This visit was at 9:45 on Sunday morning. Plan accordingly for church crowds. We had attended an early service, so we thought we could get in before the rush!

I had the garden frittata and it was out of this world!!! Grits was delicious too. Service is slow though – the wait staff tend to play the«ignore» game. We waited for about 10 minutes and had 5 wait staff walk by us without greeting us. We finally got someone to come over and he was very attentive. I would go back, perhaps not at their busiest times.

Egg and I never disappoints! Our server was awesome and the food was delicious. I got the Texas skillet because I was starving and it was very filling. My son ate an entire giant pancake which he loved. My best friend is an egg.

I like this place. It’s always busy and not a lot of parking. We happened to pass by at 1 on our way to lunch and there wasn’t a crowd waiting, so we stopped. I don’t have anything bad to say about it. It was just as I expected. I had corned beef hash, hubs had eggs benedict and son had parisien benedict(mushrooms on the eggs benedict). The hollandaise wasn’t as lemony as I like it, but probably most don’t like it that lemony. Our server was okay, not as attentive as I would have liked for beverage refills. And I seem to recall that we had to ask for the check. It is always so cold in there. I was glad I had taken a jacket.

Dear Egg and I today you are getting 1 star and this is why… first of all, it’s not appropriate to serve cold food and then tell your customers that you will microwave it to warm it, ummmm should I place your establishment in the category of McDonalds or Burger King

Came to The Egg today for the first time. Was seated promptly, then waited for our server. He finally came by and we thought he was the manager the way he acted. «Has anyone taken care of you yet?» If wer’re your table, have you helped us? Hubby was finally given ½ pot of coffee, «here’s the last of the pot, they’re making a new one“‘ and I got my tea, which I ordered as sweet, and was given unsweet. After waiting for at least another 10 minutes, the server came by and said«so kids, are we ready to order??» Told our server we were leaving and he looked seriously stunned… waiting for at least 15 minutes is unacceptable. While we waited we noted his other tables were missing parts of their orders and at other times he was in the kitchen for 5 minutes getting a juice, water and coffee. Poor service from this dude. Wish we could have reviewed the food. Probably won’t be going back.

I prefer The Egg & I over a Denny’s or IHOP. For one, it’s a lot cleaner and I feel like the food is better. I enjoy going there on the weekends when I’m feeling a big breakfast(they serve huge portions) and always enjoy it. They do have some trouble getting anything out of the norm right about my order though. If I ask for no powdered sugar, my waffle will still have it. If I substitute a pancake for a waffle I’ll still get the pancake. I guess try and stick to the menu or really reiterate what you want to your server. Overall a good place for tasty breakfast.

I went here for a business networking event, so I was seated in the meeting room. The meeting space is a decent size, and you can close the door to block out the noise. The lunch menu is pretty affordable, prices range from 8.99−12.99. The service here is good, we were greeted by a sweet little waitress. The food is okay. I got the lunch combo which included a apple chicken salad, and a walnut chicken sandwich. The salad was good, but I didn’t like the sandwich. The portion sizes are just ok, the cup isn’t running over. It’s not a bad spot, but it isn’t a home run either. It’s an option for a quick average bit…

The service was really good. Our server was attentive and she tried to help as much as she could as far as recommendations go since it was our first time. Food, egh… it was okay. Not really to my liking(personal opinion). We had the vegetarian eggs Benedict and the crab Benedict. I would rather take the vegetarian as the crab one felt needed a bit more seasoning. Overall, okay experience.

Just met my friend for breakfast this morning at this place and was duly impressed! I just happened upon this place by Unilocaling for breakfast and brunch places in Sugar Land and was intrigued by the reviews and photos! A really nice place for breakfast and lunch it is located very close to Sugar Creek and according to the waitress has been here for about a year. I’m not sure what was here before but the interior is really nice and the service was top notch! I did have an opportunity to try the Hazelnut coffee that everyone has written about and it is good! The breakfast entrees are generally under $ 10 and very generous and the ambience is nice! I like the décor… the location… food and service! If you are looking for an alternative to IHOP or Denny’s this place is a little nicer and staffed with friendly people! I will be returning! :)

We visited this place on Mother’s Day for the first time, food was great! Everything tasted fresh and we’ll seasoned. Definitely will be back. The price was great, espically for a family of 4!

Walked into a friendly welcome, quick seating and a casual, family-friendly environment. The food was great! The Blueberry pancake was HUGE and the Texas Skillet was filling. You get a hefty share of eggs and potatoes so be sure you’re ready to chow down. The prices are decent and if I was hungry enough I’d have tried the Parisian Benedict. The hazelnut coffee though… it’s everything everyone here says it is. And it smells heavenly!

The Good Stuff: A home style, good breakfast place to dine with friends, loved ones or folks you work with. This is my first visit at this location. And the experience in store was a huge relief; it’s the same wonderful vibe, food and service as the Meyerland Houston location. What I see what my eyes: Who: Casually dressed older crowd of the zip code. And they seem to be a great mix of real social people. What: And yes, everyone seems like regulars. Everyone is nestled in a well designed. And it seems this is the place, they really want to be. The details: The outside series strip malls around this particular store are a unique blend of architectural expressions. But don’t let that stop you for stopping by. Parking: Even on a busy weekday morning, there seems to be plenty of parking in the private lot. First 10 seconds: Warmly greeted, smiling busily working servers wiz by, really. Light airy and decorated spaces. We were quickly seated and again greeted. And our server, was warm and friendly. The waitress suggested we try the gingerbread coffee, and if we liked it… she’d bring the carafe to the table. What service. And my friend and I were glad we tried it. In fact, the coffee was quite fresh and good, so I opted to drink it black. My friend and I both ordered the same platter of scrambled eggs, sausage and one GIANTPANCAKE. Maybe larger than our two heads combined.(Kind of not joking) We also ordered a side of diced country potatoes as they did not carry hashbrowns. Everything was fresh and good tasting. But I guess what I liked most about this location was the consistent vibe, and genuineness of the place. I’ll be back and so should you. It’s a great alternative to a diner. So here is my helpful review. I hope you have a wonder time too!

First time here and surprised by the bad reviews. Of course I made it in before the morning rush and had great service. I ordered the Hazelnut coffee and I love that you get your own carafe so you fill up your cup as you desire. I had 3 cups and never had to wait for the full up because it was right at my fingertips. I also had the regular Eggs Benedict with a side of grits. The eggs were poached to perfection and served very pretty-like. The hollandaise sauce could have been a little hotter but was flavorful. The grits were served with butter but needed quite a bit of salt to flavor them up. Not an uncommon problem with grits so it wasn’t really a big deal. Overall the atmosphere is very nice and the food was great. They also have outdoor seating for the warmer days. Over and out… coffee buzz is kicking in.

I love the egg and I and all but recently I have been having the worst experience here. Literally, they mess my order up every single time and I’m suppose to bring back the food like I have time to just drive back and forth. They just literally slap everything together in into the box(because I usually take to-go) is that why they don’t really care? I usually just order the Eggceptional omelet, my fav, how could you mess that up? I ate there a few times and the service was great and everything was on point. Just when it comes to to-go’s I am just speechless after this. They need to open up their ears and listen to what their customers are saying. Goodness! And when they pack it up into the box, boy does it look delicious

Unilocal has this place marked as «hot and new», it’s new, but totally not hot. Group of 6, arrived at 10.10am, most of us got our drinks at 10.50am and my hot tea didn’t get to me til 11, when I asked our server for it again. Then she brought me the hot water and a cup. An hour after I sat down, I had my drink. 11am is when she took our order. By then, we were all shaking with bloody hunger! Food took another 30mins to come and it really wasn’t worth the wait. I got the cordon bleu skillet, which, as it happens, comes out on a ceramic plate, not, in fact, as advertised, on a skillet. So it hit the table luke warm and went downhill fast. Skillets keep the food hot — that’s why I order them! None of us were particularly happy! Not to mention, the server didn’t give my friend her cash change($ 8!!) how presumptuous! I won’t be back

I just realized this place opened a few days ago. I saw this place as I drove down 90 a few weeks ago? Thank goodness I decided to come today instead or I would feel silly coming to a restaurant not yet opened lol Host greeted us and was very nice so was our waitress, she had such a vibrant aura while I was just tired and hungry lol im totally not a morning person. We ordered the crab cake benedict w/potatoes and the garden frittata which is a omlette with mushroom, cheese, tomatoes and spinach w/toast and potatoes. Both meals were presented nicely but as for yummyness I would go for the crab cake benedict, it was so good and different from what I normally eat. Definitely recommend this place, employees are very nice and attentive. I believe the location has free WIFI too so studying here is a option.
