The brunch is phenomenal and love the staff ! My favorite is the carving station for the roast beef. The oysters are always fresh and I am really loving the aspect of being able to make your own omelettes!

All of the food is delicious with great atmosphere. I have been there many times and always enjoyed my entrees, salads, steak Oscar melts in your mouth. Stuffed shrimp is also delicious. I had a group of women there today. They loved the three appetizers as well as the rest of the meal. It is a must if you are in Sugar Land!

I’m originally from New Orleans. A friend from out of town chose this restaurant, or I would have chosen Ragin’ Cajun. We were seated immediately and the place wasn’t even half full, but we all commented on how noisy it was. The service was excellent. My friend ordered the special sea bass, I ordered fried oysters, and my son ordered a mixed seafood poor boy. We wanted hush puppies but they aren’t on the menu. We all cleaned our plates, but after my friend left(he was treating), my son asked how I liked the food. I said the oysters were all soft in the middle and had no taste, but the french fries were delicious! My son agreed that his fried seafood had no taste, the cocktail sauce was nothing but ketchup, and he said the bread was nothing special. He had thought about ordering gumbo, but was glad he didn’t because he probably would have been disappointed. We don’t know how our friend liked his meal, but since he’s from Europe, he’s not picky about New Orleans food the way we are. We’ll never go back, for sure.

3.5. So many ways to have oysters! Have them fresh, grilled, or baked. You want cheese, spinach and bacon on top? You got it. On a Sunday evening there was a pretty good crowd, but not where you wouldn’t be seated right away. I ordered ½ a dozen of fresh and ½ dozen of the oysters Madeleine. The Madeleine oysters were pretty good, but since I’m a purist when it comes to oysters, I preferred the fresh ones better, which were properly shucked, clean, good size and had great flavor. Their menu is pretty expansive and will have dishes to suit any palette. Pasta, salads, sandwiches, i.e., your typical New Orleans Style Fare. I also got gumbo, and it was very flavorful and was slightly spicy. There was ample chicken and sausage. My only one nitpick about it, however, is that I wish there was more rice, which I could always ask for. Alas, I was lazy. Service was excellent. Our waiter handled our large party like a champ and was helpful throughout our entire meal.

Its so much I like about this place the live music, the location, and the patio are all great highlights of the restaurant. The price and the staff are what gets me. I really do think they are overpriced for the amount of food you receive. The staff are hit or miss, I have been here and the waitress did an excellent job. It has been other times when they have rushed me and was not attentive. They have the best osyter Madeline I have ever tasted but the fish is okay and the food selection is not extensive. This is a once and awhile restaurant but with so any options it would not be my first choice…

A bit dark in there, new orleans style with their decorations. Hostesses are usually on point with the seating, service is usually horrible, and the booths smell like dirty rags with gnats flying around you. Food on the other hand isn’t bad at all, I hope they’re really clean in the kitchen though. –Rouxpour Signature Chargrilled(4⁄5) Probably the closest thing you could get to New Orleans chargrilled oysters. I don’t suggest to try the other just because I personally don’t like rockefellers and the extra stuff with spinach. I’d just suggest the raw or signature. –Chicken & Sausage Gumbo(2⁄5) When the description says dark gumbo, it really is dark. Really watery and its a bit bitter, not your average gumbo you would expect. –Thin Cut Catfish Po Boy(4⁄5) Crispy thin fish, seasoned well, loved it. The only thing is that its a bit too bready. When I’m craving cajun/creole I would probably go here, but the smell and the gnats really throw me off. Good thing I have found Floyd’s for backup.

Went for a birthday party, group of about 16 – 20 ppl. Everyone enjoyed their food, from the lollipop to the stuffed shrimp to the gumbo. But the parking is not so convenient. There are 3 parking garages so make sure you are aware of where you are parking. There should be better parking. I would goo back again.

The food is not great here. The«popular» chargrilled oyster was too cheesy and hardly had any oysters and the raw oyster swas super small! I also had the crawfish étouffée which was blah. Overall, i was not impressed with the food and this place is similar to papadeaux. Nothing special about this place and enjoyed nothing here ;(

I’ve been coming to The Rouxpour for 8 months now and this place is on point for cocktails and amazing NOLA/Cajun cuisine. My go to dish is the Red Beans and Rice and Rouxpour does it like no other. The flavors and the overall quality is outstanding… better than mom’s home cooking. It’s a great place to bring your family as well as clients. It’s a high class joint that is easy on the pocketbook.

Been here several times. Always enjoy the food but service last week was horrible. Had a trainee waiting on us. I can see past his mistakes, but his trainer who was watching over him didn’t step in and fix things. It was as if they were both first timers. If u see an empty beer glass, ask if I want another. Don’t make me ask u. Keep the water glasses full. They would both just disappear for long periods. On the plus side the chargrilled oysters were amazing.

I go here frequently for lunch, or do take out. Their 3 for 13.99 can be good. Pros: good food, clean establishment, convenient location Cons: can be pricey and customer service can be slow

A friend recommended this place after having their surf and turf. She went on and on about how amazing it was so, I agreed to try this place out after taking a look at their oyster selection. I love charbroiled oysters! Unfortunately we had a new waitress, which made our dining experience a bit awkward. Overall, ambiance was great and the food was okay but, overpriced. There were plenty of items to choose from on their dinner menu. I tried the Charbroiled Trio and soft shell crab BLT. Their signature oysters were my favorite.

Went here for my birthday and the atmosphere was perfect! I ordered the Steak and Crab legs and it was hands down thee best steak I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The crab legs were really delicious as well! I will definitely be a returning customer.

I enjoyed my visit to Rouxpour a few months back! It was a Friday or Saturday evening so it was pretty packed, but we were able to be seated inside by an open window which I really liked. We order the Chargrilled Trio which had the Chargrilled Rockefeller, Marinara Chargrilled, Rouxpour Signature Chargilled and Crawfish Étouffée. I loved the Étouffée and wish we ordered a larger size! I enjoyed the oysters except the Marinara because it tasted like an awkward pizza. I would have to save the prices are a bit high for the quality of food though. Psst: I’ve been here one time before that when they first opened and it was extremely dimly light compared to the open windows. I remember eating crab cakes and some type of pastry/croissant and something delicious for dinner but I can’t recollect the names. The food was fabulous that time!

I’ve had Sunday brunch here before(it was ok. Not a big buffet choices). Today I had regular lunch from the menu. I had chargrilled oysters trio(3types) it was not good at all. The house special was ok but the other 2 types were not good. There are 4 choices. The spinach and cheese one… Not recommended. For entrée i had the soft shell crab Blt with sweet potato fries. That was pretty tasty! Service was good, the Houston heat was not! We opted to stay inside versus patio seating.

I’ve seen this place many times before but never thought to try this place out. Last Friday, my cousin who just had her baby 3 months ago was jonesin for some raw oysters. With a limited time frame, and the other 2 places we were attempting to go to unavailable, we started calling around and stumbled upon this place. It was probably the BEST thing that could have happened for us because omgoodness is this place delicious! We obviously started off with a dozen oysters on the half shelf. It was so yummy we actually got another dozen. Yes, we know we are fatties! The oysters went very well with her cape cod and my spring bock. As my entrée, I ordered the shrimp étouffée and OMGNOMS! I don’t think I’ve had such good étouffée here before. I love how they don’t skimp on the sauce either. I hate it when I get a ton of rice and little everything else. The sauce is creamy and just the right amount of kick to a non spicy either. Me being the spiceaholic that I am I added extra tabasco sauce to mine. Since my cousin had dinner plans with her parents, she just chowed down most of the oysters. The only compliant that my cousin and I had was that they skimped on the cocktail sauce. We are avid cocktail and horseradish users when it comes to eating our oyster. Towards the end, my cousin was scooping the oysters into little sauce holder. Next time, more cocktail sauce please!

Really good food and a nice ambience. My cousin brought me hear because she wanted me to try these pork chops she raves about. We were seated in the back in a cozy booth unfortunately next to loudest party in the world that made it impossible to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Food Apps-Chargrilled Oyster sampler Definitely not anywhere close to NOLA or Baton Rouge. It was good but missing the sauce that you sop up with your bread and the juice in the oyster. House Salad-Good mix of greens, salad dressing was fresh it was solid. Mains Hubby had the twin pork chops with a Treme sauce that was divine! This one is hands down their best dish. I had Grilled Tilapia with a cream sauce with Shrimp, mushrooms, green onions, served over rice with asparagus. Good flavor it’s just hard when I go to Louisiana monthly and get the real thing. One thing I think they should do is have a description of all their sauces on the menu. They have so many and they are so great it would be nice to not have the waitress recite all of them. The service was decent, and my bill ran around $ 100 including tip. For that price I do think Papadeaux is leaps and bounds better with the quality of the food but I would come back for that Pork chop dish.

This location is right outside of the first colony mall near a parking garage that is attached to other nice restaurants and bars. When I entered there was a hostess to greet me. I came to meet my date who happens to be close to the owners and manager. There was a nice size bar that’s great to sit and watch the game. I went Monday night which wasn’t too crowded. Probably about 20 – 25 people spread throughout the place that night. Mostly people at the bar area. We were able to choose our table in a private section where it was away from the bar. The server that waited on us had a sense of humor and very attentive to us. He was good looking too. That didn’t hurt. I ordered fresh oysters which were awesome served over chilled ice. I didn’t want anything too heavy and fried so I ordered gumbo which was not the best. I’m not sure what seasoning they used however it took away the flavors from the shrimp and sausage. The bread that came with it was perfect, nice and buttery. One thing I can say was that they were very attentive seeing us and always making sure our drinks were refilled and so on. I will return again however try something new.

First time here with the in laws. Atmosphere: feels comfortable like home, lots of nola décor with Jackson square and downtown, and good amount of xmas décor Seating was quick and without any issues for 8 people on a Friday night around 6:45. Any later and you might have trouble finding parking space. Service was good. No complaints. Food: came in time with 15 min left to spare for happy hour(3 pm-7 pm) so we ordered 2 dozen raw oysters. They weren’t the biggest but not bad for 75 cents. Also had the signature charbroiled oysters which were ok. Not a fan of the Parmesan. Still doesn’t beat the oysters at Drago’s in NOLA. Crawfish étouffée was actually surprisingly good, though the rice was a lil too al dente. Big portion too. Fried oyster and fried crawfish po’boy was pretty awesome actually, more so the oyster. The bread was buttered and soft which was different from what I’m used to, but still tasty. Sweet potato fries were nothing too special. Bourbon street pasta had good flavor and a big portion, but nothing special about it. Finished with the white chocolate bread pudding which goes well with a scoop of ice cream. That was a plate of warm ooey goodness. Overall: I would come back for sure. I don’t know why it has such low reviews. The food is pretty good being a Nola native.
