Love Vasos! My favorite is the sausage plate — try it with a side of pita bread and Greek salad. Where else in town can you get that combination? Other favorites are the fried okra, and the baked potatoes are the best I’ve ever had! Friendly staff and roomy, bright, open dining area. Love it!

Negatives first: a tub of iceberg lettuce and ¼ of an egg does NOT a side salad make. Got 3 meats and 2 sides delivered through door dash. Chicken, ribs and sausage. Fries and green beans. The fries were delicious, the meat was some of the nicest bbq I’ve had since moving to Houston — and there was plenty of it! It fed myself and my toddler and there’s still left overs too.

Good for lunch. Had turkey Po boy. Very tasty. Had all the fixings. It would have been great with just the sauce. Tasty sauce. Big portions of food for a reasonable price.

Avoid. Really. Way too costly for what you get. My basket and drink was $ 13. I had lunch here today with a friend and we both left woefully unsatisfied by our meals. The cashier was pleasant, but that’s the only nice thing I can probably say. The interior is dull and not very decorated. I had the brisket sandwich and a friend had a two meat plate. The brisket had no temperature. It wasn’t hot — like it had come off a steam tray. But it wasn’t cold either — like from a fridge. The sauce was heated and steaming — but it still didn’t warm the meat all the way through. Neither had any flavor. Extremely bland. The brisket had good color — but it had no flavor. No smokiness. The sauce had no tang, no spice, no tang, no sweetness to it. The fries were lifeless little things that lacked flavor as well. They were freshly fried, but they were sad little things that gave me no joy. My friends meat(heh) was also cold. He barely touched the potato salad or beans and declared them inedible. I didn’t dare try. Also, grandmaw was in the corner in her muumuu. Coughing. Without covering her mouth.

I had the 3 meat(sausage, brisket, and ribs) and two sides(slaw and fried okra). Everything was good, fast, and cheap, and isn’t this really the essence of a BBQ lunch? I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place, but if you happen to be in Sugarland, its worth going once… and leaving, quickly. The décor doesn’t encourage lingering or having long romantic conversations: Get back to work at the Sugar Mill!

You should always trust the Unilocal! If the Unilocal says it’s bad 98% of the time it’s going to be bad. I order ribs. The BBQ sauce was watery or watered down? Not really sure. The ribs tasted like they were baked but there are fire logs outside for a pit. There was no smoke taste. I work across the street and I never see smoke coming from this place. I thought I’d give it a try anyway. I wanted to see for myself. I was so disappointed in my food. Maybe I should have ordered the Baked potato. However, when you go to a BBQ spot you order BBQ. I have the sads. My lunch sucked.

I ordered their sausage loaded baked potato and it was delicious! I haven’t tried any of their other menu items, but I highly recommend the order that I get.

This place is kind of a hole in the wall but awesome! They have many options when it comes to BBQ and healthy portions. I definitely recommend the baked potato with brisket. So good!

I’ll drive 20 miles, just to eat here. Best BBQ in town and healthy portions as well!

Worst BBQ in all of Texas. These people should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pass this food off as BBQ. If you posted something positive about this BBQ, I would recommend you go to Austin and try some real food — then come back and taste it again.

I never would have guessed that a BBQ joint would have Greek salad but they do and its great. You get a large portion of salad and can add grilled chicken that is sliced up on top. I choose to get it with the chicken since it does not cost to much more and its very good. There dressing is more on the oily side but I don’t mind it as it has a great vinegary, tart flavor and is full of herbs. Its a must try since the price is good and its very filling. It also comes with a side of naan bread which is grilled. I have not had the BBQ but my co-workers get the sliced brisket sandwich with onion rings at least once a week. The onion rings are better than most places I have had them at and they are huge!

I’m a little surprised to find so many negative reviews, but all of them are pretty old anyways. I’ve only been here once but had a good experience that I gave 4 stars. Food was good and I really liked my fries. Prices could be a little cheaper but oh well. Would be back if I ever crave BBQ in the area. Nothing wrong here.

Vasos BBQ catered an event I had in November. It was great. They had great customer service and their prices are very reasonable. I would most definitely reccomend their bbq.

Ok so the sign says«Vasso’s Real Pit BBQ». It is not Pit BBQ!!! Got the pork ribs and no smoke ring or pit flavor. BBQ was store bought and bland. I expect better from a place that calls itself a BBQ place. Next time I am heading to Texas Brisket on 90.

This is a hole in the wall, old style kind of place. The food was alright, but the atmosphere and interior are rather unappetizing. Only good if you need an emergency solution for lunch.

Immediately upon walking in, my first thought was«this place looks and smells like a cafeteria.» Red and white checked tablecloths. Pastry cooler. Diner style chairs. People, this isn’t BBQ. There is NO smoke to the food at all. Their name should be Vaso’s Grill. The sauce tastes like they took BBQ sauce from a plastic jug and added pepper. It isn’t terrible, but far from the best. I gave them one star because they served our food in a reasonable amount of time and added another star because the food hasn’t made us sick. The search for decent BBQ in Sugar Land continues. Next place we try is Texas Brisket.

We ate lunch at Vaso’s on a high noon Thursday. The older lady behind the cash register was very friendly to us. She was smiling and thanked us. Based on the reviews, I was expecting some sort of soup nazi(aka Seinfeld). We decided to keep it simple. We both ordered the slice beef sandwiches with fries. We slid our trays down the counter and found our drinks waiting. Less than a minute later the fries and sandwiches were ready. Very fast service. The bbq isn’t bad, but it’s not the greatest. The meat had more of a oven roasted taste than a true wood smoked flavor. However, the meat was very tender, moist, and had no fat in the sandwich. The fries were very good. Vaso’s serves skin-on fries and can compare to McDonalds as far as crispness and diameter. I actually like them more than McDonalds. We did notice one dirty table when we first sat down. However, the guy came out and cleaned off that table and some others after the diners left. My biggest complaint is the parking lot. Next door to Vaso’s is a salon. We all know what happens to the parking lot shared by a salon. It can fill up fairly quick. However, we did manage to park in front. My complaint is actually the cars flying thru there coming off of Dairy Ashford. Slow down people! I do have two other minor complaints. I’m trying not to be too anal. They don’t have a self serve drink station. Come on Vaso’s get with it! Almost every counter service establishment has this. Their napkin dispensers are tiny. Put a roll of paper towels out. I used at least five tiny napkins during my meal. Every time I wiped sauce off of my hands/mouth I had to get another napkin. Call me messy I guess. Overall, I’d say Vaso’s deserves their long term stay in the Sugar Land area. I gave them 4 stars instead of 3 just because we didn’t experience anything bad. Like I said, the bbq isn’t bad it’s just not the best I’ve had. It would be unfair for me to say anything negative since I only had their sliced beef. Either way, we wouldn’t have a problem returning to Vasos.

Brisket was dry beyond belief. Like, approaching inedible. This is the main reason I gave it 2 stars, because the brisket is usually what I look forward to most! That being said we ordered chicken and turkey which were moist and pretty tasty. The beans had way too much cumin in them, but maybe that’s just me. Potato salad was pretty good, less of a mayo taste than usual which I appreciated. The bbq sauce was middle of the road. Also wanted to point out that I called for an order to go because we were in a hurry, but when we arrived it wasn’t ready! Not because we didn’t give them enough time or they were busy, they just didn’t want to put it together until we got there in case we didn’t show. So what was the point of calling ahead again? A little frustrating. Probably won’t go there again.

Vasos Bar-B-Q, more like Vasos Bland-B-Q. Although I didn’t have as bad of experience like Melissa M. during my lunch time visit but I didn’t have a good time either. Once you enter the front door, entrance is really tight together. They also have this little fridgerated stand to show off their awesome pies which I never tried. They also really push to sell their Greek salad at a BBQ joint, not sure why though. Unlike alot of BBQ places, you would need to pay first and then they will make your food accordingly. For some reason BBQ places where they make you pay first feels like they know their stuff is bad so you have to give up your money first and then you’ll get this sub-par food for lunch. I got their baked potatoes loaded and with meat(I choose chopped brisket). The potatoe isn’t as big as Texas Brisket nor do they put alot of meat on there. I also agree that their BBQ sauce is very bland and a bit spicy for customers who doesn’t like spicy. The seatings does feel a bit cramped and sometimes the tables are not cleaned up right away during the lunch time. Even at time when it’s «cleaned» up, they didn’t really wipe it down so the laminated table cloth still feels sticky. If you really want good BBQ during lunch time and you work around the Dairy Ashford Sugar Land Business Park area, head to Texas Brisket instead of this place.

DISGUSTING! Avoid Avoid Avoid! We went here hoping for a decent local BBQ joint. Oh we were so wrong! First, we were accosted by the owner lady while taking an exterior shot for Unilocal.Ok, we ignored that because I’m sure she was curious as to our intentions. Then we ordered. Our food came out quickly, as well it should as we were the only people in the place. The tables all around us were dirty, covered in food and dishes from previous customers. why can’t they clean up when the place is empty? Ok, so why one star? 1. The bbq sauce is spicy but bland. It was actually quite nasty. 2. The french fries looked good but were absolutely coated in grease. They made both of us feel sick from the grease levels. Ugh. 3. There was a hair in my food. Yes, that’s right a HAIR. A short curly hair was inside my sandwich. I was grossed out and stopped eating, but to tell you the truth, I was already done because the food was gross. So, I told the crazy manager lady about the hair and she told me that her guys were hats and it must be mine. Um, yeah, that makes sense. Check out my photos. My hair is LONG and straight. My husband had straight medium brown hair, not curly and black. So gross. The worst part was that she scoffed at us and told me it must be mine. I just walked out. I wasn’t looking for a free meal, I was just informing her. In Summary: serves Pepsi, bad taste, greasy, and has hair in their food. This place is to be avoided at all costs.
