My husband and I like to eat here. The food is very good. Sitting out on the patio by the marina, what a lovely view! Today we brought friends with us, they enjoyed their dinner and the relaxed surroundings. The staff is friendly and service was fast. My pick from the menu is usually Mezethakia, a combination plate of Greek specialties.

Good food. Not a cookie cutter fast food joint, which is a refreshing change.

Hands down my wife and I favorite spot in Suisun. My favorite Avgolemono soup and Soulvaki plate. The price and the service is really good. I have no complaints about this place. Vicky is the best :)

I’ve been here for lunch 5 or 6 times, with coworkers from the office. We’ve always been seated rapidly, and the wait service has always been swift and courteous. We sat on the covered back porch today – and it was shady but still fairly hot(it was in the low 90s). Others in our party had shrimp, chicken, and lamb, but today I had the falafel(pita sandwich), and I shared an order of fries. The falafel by itself would not have filled me up… but the fries did the job. The others enjoyed their meaty-meal choices, and I found that the pita sandwich is a great vegetarian choice at this restaurant. With an iced tea and half an order of fries, the total cost was very reasonable.

I happened upon this restaurant when I had a mean craving for a pastrami sandwich. Unilocal told me this was the place to go, and although I was skeptical about a Greek restaurant serving me a pastrami sandwich, I decided to follow my gut(literally and figuratively). We started with the fried calamari, which was good, and a huge serving, but the cuts were quite thick and they were served on a bed of fries. I would probably ask for no fries next time. We also ordered the dolmathes, and they were very good, but I have never had them hot before(only cold) so it was different than what I was used to. These also had meat in them, and I ordinarily eat them vegetarian. If you smother them in tzaziki, I promise you will thank you. Now, to the pastrami. This sandwich was HUGE. Like, prepare to take at least half of it home. The flavor was great, a ton of meat, and it was served very hot. I would have like to have had a little less salt, but overall, I was very happy. This place is quaint and the service was wonderful. If the weather is nice, try to snag a spot on the waterfront patio.

Thinking of this place makes me hungry. Best Greek food I’ve had in a long time. Gyros and meat plate are great except fries are extra. The portion are huge and location is beautiful and perfect on the waterfront. The service is great and the options to dine outdoors is awesome. Definitely our go to to fulfill our Greek cravings!!! Pricing is moderate and parking ample.

We ordered the pastrami sandwich. The meat was too chewy and salty. I have had better.

This was my first time here. I was impressed. The food was good, and you get a free piece of baklava for checking in(with a meal). I’ll be back.

The pastrami burger is the best I’ve ever experienced. The fries are awesome as well. Yes fries at a Greek restaurant. My wife always gets a Greek Salad and some sort of lamb dish which is always top notch. The staff consistently provides excellent service and I enjoy going there as much as possible. The only point that kept me from rating 5 stars is the Calamari. It’s tasty, nice portions, but the last two times the breading was a bit soggy. If it was more crisp the experience would rate 5 starts all day long.

Loud as hell. Food over cooked. Super slow service. Don’t bother going out of your way for this place.

Our waitress was nice and courteous, however she rarely checked on us for refills on our drinks. She came back once and said our order is coming shortly but in fact it took longer than«shortly» And the funny thing is there wasn’t as many patrons one would think to cause the kind wait. I can’t blame the waitress tho because the cooks(which there were three of that I could see) didn’t appear to be busy as it would be. I noticed tickets being put in but yet their cooks didn’t appear to be busy enough. As for the food. The food tasted good although disappointing on the same token because it was a best luke warm at best. I was expecting it be hot like our fried zucchini came out. Speaking of which it came out fast but yet it didn’t compliment the rest of the meal because of the delay. How Betty if this place was way more organized and more prompt it could excel even more and be a lot better. At best this is a hometown favorite for most townies but wouldn’t be a «must go to» place if ever in the area. On another note, one would expect fries or a side to go with the sandwich for the price.

Visited for a quick bite with family… snacks really. The restaurant was small and clean. The menu was not vast, and didn’t have, to my chagrin, any saganaki, loukamades, or other Greek snacks. Otherwise traditional. My man and I shared a spanakopita. Pretty decent, but seemed pre-fab and not homemade. The FIL had an order of onion rings. He said that they were tasty. They sure were huge! One order was likely one whole onion! The MIL… all she wanted and talked about the whole ride was having a piece of mousakka. Guess what? All out! She was really disappointed, but opted for some noodle concoction that had the same meat base in the bottom layer. She enjoyed that part, but not the rest. If in the area, we may give it another try, but not very impressed this visit.

I have the beef sandwich, but the meat was cold and tough. I ate the whole sandwich because I was hungry but my jaw hurts afterward but they took it off the bill so that was nice

I am so so so happy this is in Suisun. The location is absolutely beautiful(especially for Solano). Athenian is my parents favorite date night spot. They live a lot closer to it than I do. It has really fabulous Greek food, and it also has more Americanized options for the picky husband or child in your life. I have never ever been unhappy with a big Greek salad from the Athenian, and its super great to go chill by the water and to not have to run to store and but questionably fresh tomatoes and cucumbers myself – not so fun. We really don’t have many Greek options in Solano, but I am willing to live with that because Athenian is an option. I feel like this restaurant, on its own, heightens the classiness of the county by a couple notches. Keep going strong, Athenian.

Amazing lunch at Athenian Grill. I had the fried calamari as an appetizer and the chicken pita. The food was great and cooked well as always here. I came during the lunch rush. The staff was able to accommodate my party of four and sat us outside in the patio, which has a great view of the harbor in Suisun. Service was great and all the menu items are reasonably priced. Athenian Grill is a staple here in Suisun and its a great place to go for lunch.

Went here for family dinner on a lazy night. I imagine the view would be beautiful in the daytime. Being veggie, I pretty much order the same thing at any Greek place — a vegetarian sampler of some sort(seriously, why would you ever make me choose between dolmades and falafel? I’m so freaking indecisive). I didn’t see this on the menu though, so when ordering, I asked, «Which items on the sampler are NOT vegetarian?» And the server quickly replied with, «We have a vegetarian version of our sampler, if you want to try that!» Score! Portions were veeery generous. Service was friendly. Plenty of parking in the private lot, though there is street parking too. I wasn’t a huge fan of the spanakopita, but this may just be personal preference — I like more spinach/greens than cheese for the filling, and the crust on this one was more like a hot pocket and not phyllo. That’s really my only complaint though. One major thing I did like? You know those feta cheese crumbles on your salad? Nope. They’ll do you one better and give you a block of feta. A BLOCK. Of feta. Cheese. Enjoy.

I called at 5:30 pm to make a reservation for dinner at 6 pm. After asking for my name and number of people in my party, I was told curtly that«we don’t make reservations for 2». When I asked why, I was told«we can always fit 2 in anywhere». I then said I would be there in 30 minutes and would I have to wait? She said«no». When I got there at 6, I was told there would be at least. 20 minute wait. Lots of empty seats in the main dining area. When I told the woman taking names about my prior conversation, she simply said«we’ve been busy all day». Horrible disconnect between my earlier call and my in person visit. Unbelievable. Next time I’ll make a reservation for 4 and show up with 2.

Lived here my entire life and quite honestly this is really the only place that I go for gyros sandwiches. I’ve been to other places around town and out of town, but sadly no other place really compares. Again, it could just be a preference. I personally the pita they use for the wrap, it’s not thin but instead it’s a thicker a bit denser type of wrap. I’ve had their plates and other things, to which everything is well seasoned and portions are not stingy. I regularly call for a gyro to go, to eat, on my way to work. Quick, easy, and convenient!
