We are from NH and stayed in Clinton, MD so this train was the closest one to the hotel. NH doesn’t have trains, metros, T’s whatever… I have been on the subways in Boston and they are not nearly half as clean as these trains were. The employees were so helpful… one in particular… I wish I remembered his name. But he helped my husband and I sign up for the metro card showed us how to put money on it and then told us which stop to get off once we got to D.C. He was wonderful!!! The parking was cheap $ 5 for the entire day! And I felt SAFE living my car there. There was a car patrolling while I was looking for a spot. The spots are extremely tight though…

Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility, MD
I LOVE the DC Metro Rail System! It’s the best way to get around the DC Metro Area. 30 mins or so can have you to & from nearly any 2 points in the system. Especially good, on weekend out. I like to hit the town, but driving & drinking are against my rules. Parking in DC is a monster, too. This system allows me to circumvent both these overly common issues.
This particular station is only a few blocks from my neighborhood (Joint Base Andrews, MD)

Just a metro station. Pretty clean and decent lighting. Keep an eye out for the bums sleeping on the benches in the early AM.

District Heights, MD
It’s a reliable train station. Safe neighborhood, especially if you like to come home late. I don’t really know what else needs to be said about a train station.
