This place has the best tortas, chili rellenos and tacos! Me and the wife snagged two meals, a soda and a beer for under 20 bucks! The quality is amazing and the taste authentic. I’m telling you don’t waste another dollar at taco bell or any other Mexican joint. This place is amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful If you don’t know what kind of meat you want etc. They also feature a bar of limes, green & red salsa, and onions at no additional charge. Don’t let the exterior fool you. This place has quality where it counts.

This is a little diamond in the rough in Sun Valley, tucked away on the corner of 2nd and Sun Valley across from Hobey’s. Family owned and operated, the food is excellent for a quick lunch or dinner with hand made tortillas, and fresh ingredients. The Chile Rellenos are some of the best we’ve had in Reno. Don’t let the outside put you off, the inside is clean, with very friendly service, and they bring your plate of nice hot food right to your table with silverware and napkins. We happened on this little place when we took a drive deciding to look for another favorite, quick Mexican food restaurant. This fits the bill perfectly. We look for cleanliness first. Is the floor clean, check. Tables clean? Check. Are the dishes clean? Check. How about the kitchen? Check. You can see the kitchen from the order counter. The only thing that is a little off putting is the storage of things behind the counter but, they don’t have a lot of room to store supplies so this is understandable. All-in-all Camino’s is an excellent little place to get a great meal! We have found our new favorite quick Mexican food restaurant. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. We give it two yums up! As my husband likes to say.

I usually come in for the $ 2.99 breakfast burrito w/beef machaca. As I ate my burrito, the chef was getting ready to prepare his $ 5.00 lunch special. He said it will be a pork dish served with rice, beans and tortillas. There’s no fancy presentations. just good food at reasonable prices. The coffee is instant, served with a can of condensed milk. I really don’t mind the instant, I like my coffee strong enough to peel paint, I can make it however strong I want. They have a full menu, visible on the wall behind the cash register, and what you see is what you get. Located kitty corner across from Hobey’s in the same side as the little market, this place is worth checking out.

I do not understand the other reviews as the issues I had at Caminos go much further than a bad night or a different cook. I choose Mother’s Day to sample their minue. It was around 7:00PM. They should have been real busy, we were the only ones there, a sure give away. I tried the Relenos two on a plate with a small scoop of both refined beans and Spanish rice, with a bit of shredded lettuce on the edge. My friend had the Burrito with similar edible companions. I love Relenos and as such are a benchmark for comparison. And there was hardly and comparison, these were by far the worse I have ever had! They had serious problems, several issues that having been covered by a copious layer of sauce/cheese make it hard for me to determine. The chills were old, very over cooked with a tired taste to match. The egg batter encasement was brown and haggardly. The Burrito was large and I cannot attest to the taste. The meat that formed part of the interior looked«overly brown» in a bad way. I saved the most irritating for last and it should have been the deal breaker. We asked for iced tea for our beverage, they had no such thing, or any on tap beverage either. Instead we were directed to a smallish upright glass front refer box with an assortment of overpriced 12oz bottled drinks. Caminos is the last of a series of Mexican restaurants at this location. The place started life as a great little pizzeria in the 70ies, it has been on a slow downward slide since. Caminos is so bad it should go away now, hey bring back the pizzeria!

Delicious! OMG we couldn’t have been happier with the food selection, taste, friendly atmosphere that comes from when you walk in. This family ran and I believed owned restaurant will keep us coming back again and again. We have gone 3 times so far since we discovered it and anytime someone says they are in the mood for a taco I automatically say try Camino’s … They had tables set up, a couple TV’s going. They made what we ordered, it was cooked and still hot, brought our food right to the table, They have ice cream the kids got to go when finished. Also have gotten food to go and it was super fast. Yummy is all I can say and when you try you’ll agree!

I had thought that the area that this place was in was undergoing a simple renovation, because the location was closed for about three weeks and then reopened. But it turns out that this is a brand new eatery and I missed out on trying the other one before it closed. I often visit friends in the Sun Valley area and recently have started to look beyond the fast food and casino options there to see if there are actually any good places to eat. Sandwiched between dueling gas stations, this place is welcoming from the exterior. Step inside and you will notice how cool it is indoors. Looks like they have a powerful air conditioning system that I would be thankful for on a hot Summer’s day, but today when it was mild and overcast, seemed a bit too cold. You order at the counter, and they advertise themselves as a place where you can order to go, but they did have several tables available for groups of four. I was the only one there at the time, so I took my time looking at the menu and then chickened out and got the Asada Quesadilla combo meal for around $ 7. Décor and paint look to be leftover from the previous owners and management was trying to put up a few decorations as I sat and ate. There was no TV, but a radio station playing what sounded to be the equivalent of Spanish NPR. I looked over at the salsa bar while my meal was preparing and they had pickled vegetables and smooth red and green salsa. When my meal arrived, everything appeared to be house made. The chips stuck into my beans were very crisp, flaky and warm. The beans themselves were thick and not soupy and seasoned very well. The rice was good, but not a standout like the beans were. My quesadilla was in a warm flaky flour tortilla, with well seasoned shredded asada. The flavor was very good. The option to order to go, and the fact that this place is not fast food or a chain means I will be stopping by again to pick up some yummy meals. And with the price per plate and the choices they have, it’s hard not to!
