I’m really surprised at all of the poor reviews of this place. My experience has been completely lovely! The service is sweet and well organized, the setting is quiet and lit beautifully. I’ve had the pad Thai, papaya salad, green curry and the Drunken Mama noodle dish– on all separate occasions. The flavors of each dish are on-point! The basil sauce, just the right amount of fish sauce and tamarind and kefir lime used for each dish really create some great authentic flavors! and the portions are perfect. I’m a Thai food foodie. I am picky when it comes to eating at Thai food restaurants. I’d definitely suggest giving this place a try. Giving it only 4 stars because I don’t think they do such a good job on the mixed drinks. Stay with the beers.

I recently just started ordering from this place and I am pretty pleased First of all, this place is reasonably cheap and the portions are super big(winning!)!! The food it good too, at least the pad see ew and the springs rolls are. I’m a sucker for curry puffs, but this place makes theirs a bit bland… it just takes like potato in fried dough. I’ve never actually eaten in the restaurant itself, but when i order, the delivery does take some time(i literally live across the street) and for some reason they NEVER include knives and forks or even chopsticks(even when i ask) and it drives me nuts so took off 2 stars for that!

I’ve been only ordering take-out from here and my default lately has been their chicken stir-fried glass noodles. So far they have been pretty consistent with the taste and portion but my last order was a huge disappointment. I think they forgot to add sauce so the whole thing tasted pretty bland. This was also when I stopped by the restaurant for the first time for take-out(I usually order via Seamless). The restaurant was pretty quiet and it was just me ordering and one other table who sat down to eat. But for some reason, it took quite some time to get my order.

My gf & I visited Nodus for a late lunch /dinner. The décor is nice(typical Thai theme with dark & modern styling) and welcoming. Service was fine; pleasant waiter and quick kitchen service. We had the Crispy fish $ 15– flavorful, delicious; rated 4⁄5 Duck La Orange $ 17– tasty, juicy, yummy; rated 4⁄5 (remember this is duck which on the fatty side) Drunken Mama noodle $ 8– delicious, worthy of mama’s approval; rated 4⁄5 Note: Their prices are higher than Thai places in the surrounding area. The dark lighting is annoying to me. Free parking is a challenge in the area; try 2 blocks away on 47th Ave. #7 subway is only ½ a block away.

I have been ordering take-out from Nodus since they first opened. My rating would depend on who is cooking that day. The quality of food has declined over the years. My favorites to order from here are the pineapple fried rice, basil chicken, thai empanadas, house salad and tiger shrimp lumpia. Sometimes the food has been fantastic, which is why I keep ordering, but other times it was a miss, with the wrapping around the lumpia burnt, the beef in the fried rice overcooked, or the house salad clearly not fresh because of the browning of the leaves. I dined in twice at this restaurant, both times the service was ok. The waitress took away our menus after we were done eating, without asking us if we wanted drinks or dessert(which we did, but wound up not ordering). The lunch specials are worth it, especially since it comes with your choice of a side and a healthy helping of the main dish. Definitely filling and a money saver. Also, delivery is extremely quick, and you can order from GrubHub if you cannot place an order via phone call!

3÷28÷13 @ 10:20pm Just left here, without eating. I was really excited to eat here again. My boyfriend and I arrived at 10:10 and we were told that we couldn’t dine in and they were only doing take out, even though they don’t close until 11 and there were other customers dining. Definitely not going back.

I got a deal from Groupon the first time I went to Nodus. I liked it so we went back again for dinner. It’s a good Thai restaurant. I loved their soups!

there is one particular dish i like very much from there, and i order from this place whenever i come home late from work and i need fast dinner. Up until last week one nightmarish night. when i called 2nd to last time to ask if i can order a larger size of the usual dish i order, the person sounded pretty friendly and offered to give me a larger container if i was willing to pay an extra couple more bucks. i agreed. so the very last time i asked for the same option. the person answering the phone was different, and had trouble understanding the language but nevertheless, i got what i wanted. come the food delivered to my house by the usual delivery man, i signed and opened up my brown bag to find a nasty note from the manager on the back of a fax paper it reads, «This is the last time we will do extra $ 2.00 chicken. please inform me the name of server who gave you that before we will fire them out. «(manager) thx with a phone number on it. so i assumed he wanted me to call him back in case i had a problem digesting not only the food, but his nasty note on it. so i called the store and asked for the manager and in his defense he said i asked for extra container for $ 2.00 which i did not. i asked for a larger container if i paid $ 2.00 more just like last time, when they offered it to me over the phone. He proceeded to scream at me like a little child over the phone to try and intimidate me saying he has record of all of my transactions and that i have only ordered 10 times. speaking of getting someone«fired», it should be this manager who clearly does not know how to run this restaurant in a peaceful and friendly manner. He does not know how to speak to a customer nicely or explain so that any bad feelings can be resolved. i hope the owner of this restaurant reads this review and know that he put his business in the hands of a very incapable person.

Only have ordered from Seamless. Decent $ 7 lunch specials. Pad Kee Mao/Drunken noodles are not on the lunch special, but the«Drunken MAMA noodles» are instead. They are more spaghetti or ramen like egg noodles. There’s some green and red peppers mixed in along w other veggies but no spiciness at all! :(There is a pretty good smokey wok cooked flavor, but I definitely had to sriracha and pepper it up. I will definitely be sticking to my regular Pad Kee Mao over this! Fried tofu — I like the peanut and sauce it was cooked in but I didn’t really like the texture /consistency of the tofu itself. I don’t really like the tofu they use in any of their dishes. Too firm and chewy. Spring rolls — These are actually some of the best I’ve had in a very LONG time. Most of the ones you get at Thai places are tiny and super fried/crunchy. These were a decent size and and you could bite right into them and taste all the flavors rather than just the taste of the oil and wrapper. Light crisp on the outside, fresh on the inside.

I got one of the big bowls here(basically Phở) and it wasn’t bad, but definitely nothing to write home about. A lot of the restaurants here in Sunnyside seem to big on the whole«fusion» idea, but this usually ends up with a «jack of all trades master of none» experience for the diner. Also, I found the atmosphere in Nodus to be confusingly club like, which again makes me think they are trying to capitalize on any and all open niches in the neighborhood. They did a good job with my mojito though, so there’s that.

The food here is great. I really love the thai rice and the pad thai here but WOW is the service terrible. There were 2 other tables besides my group of 3 and we were ignored for a good 10−15min, not offered a menu, nor were we offered a glass of water. Do not waste your time eating in here. Just get the food delivered.

I would give this a 3.5 if I could. I haven’t eaten in, I’ve only ordered for delivery. My mother and I ordered a Pad Thai, a Fried Calamari, a Crispy Duck with rice, and a coconut chicken soup. The Pad Thai here is better than most of the surrounding restaurants, it’s really flavorful and has a great smoky essence that I haven’t seen before. The Duck was alright, however by the time it came, it wasn’t berry crispy anymore. It was decent, especially for the price(8.50). The Calamari, however, is the reason for my lower rating. It was REALLY fried. Instead of enjoying the calamari itself, I felt like I was just eating the sauce and batter. Some people may like that, however I think that an order of fried calamari should be flaky, crispy, and yet still a bit juicy. I do recommend the Pad Thai from here though. It’s a cut above the rest, at least around Sunnyside.

We tried out this restaurant with a Groupon. I am so glad. The place has a contemporary, hip décor. The service was very good. The waiter even changed my husband’s plate midmeal so that he could have a clean plate. We tried several items which were all delicious: pork satay(not a peanut sauce), Thai paella, chicken with green masman curry, mussels, pork with ginger sauce, pad thai, and a big bowl of fresh rice noodles with roast pork and wontons. My favorite was the Thai paella which came with a seasoned rice and plenty of seafood including mussels and calamari. Street parking in front is no good from 4 – 7 pm on weekdays but we found a spot on the side street. I would definitely go back.

I recently dined here with my friend Adam after we had spent a neighborhood trancing and adventuring around his neighborhood, Sunnyside. We were pretty spent, hungry and overwhelmed by all of the available options! Finally, we settled upon Nodus. It was pretty empty and we were served very quickly. I ordered the Spring Rolls and the Shrimp with Lemongrass Soup(Tom Yum)…The soup was delicious! It wasn’t spicy but it did have a little bit of a bite to it that made my nose run… Which I enjoyed!(I’m weird?) Also, the order of spring rolls was huge, quite enough to share with my pal. The other fare on the menu seemed like regular Thai fare. The Thai style Paella sounded delicious. I don’t think I would visit again… Nothing really stuck out. I could probably get Lemongrass Soup elsewhere. Sorry Nodus… Nice knowing you…

Stopped by this place last night after the Unilocal elite event at xio lounge. My wife, who has a knack for finding deals, had a groupon for this place so we decided to check it out. First impressions were good. The setup is cool and they have a Buddha wall hanger that changes the color of its glow every few seconds. I was tipsy at that time so it was a nice way to waste a few more seconds of my life. I started taking photos but the missus was hungry and getting annoyed so it was quickly time to put the phone away and order some food. We got Bangkok bao buns w/bbq pork, tom yum egg noodle soup and the five spice duck with wide rice noodle soup. Unfortunately the food wasn’t quite up to par. The BBQ pork in the bao buns was on the dry side and the broths on the two noodle soups were kind of one note without much depth in flavor. The duck itself was dry as well. It was a bit of a let down but we only spent $ 10 with our groupon deal so we didn’t feel bad — otherwise I probably would have given them 2 stars. Sorry Nodus, but next time we are in the neighborhood we will probably be trying out some of the other places that show promise.

Place was narrow with seatings on each side. Service took awhile even when it wasnt busy during lunch time. I did not like the idea of a one roll appetizer which was a complete turn off. The order I had wasnt even that good — Drunken Noodles. There was only one server tending the whole place and taking orders from the back. Def. not coming back.

Saw this new place yesterday and it just happened to be the grand opening. Decided to stop by and give it a go … the scene entering the door was a bit chaotic but I won’t fault them for that since it was the grand opening. One downside to the grand opening was that they were only accepting cash since their internet wasn’t setup yet, but they promised it would be up by today. The service was quick and very attentive. This could be because it’s brand new or it could be genuinely because the servers are good. You know that moment in time when you are trying to get the attention of a waiter to either get more water, to order or to get the check … and it just seems like they are purposely avoiding any line of sight with you? We didn’t get that here — the smallest raise of a hand or briefest of eye contact with the wait staff prompted an immediate response. There was a good crowd last night in the restaurant so they were busy, but never busy enough to forget about you. Onto the food … we ordered the Tiger Shrimp Lumpia and the Noodle Big Bowl with Fresh Rice Noodles and Five Spice Duck. We later ordered the Chicken Thai Fried Rice since we were still hungry. Tiger Shrimp Lumpia — this came in either 4 or 6 pieces, for some strange reason I can’t how many I ate! This tasted as good as others that I’ve had in the past. It was cooked very well in that it wasn’t burnt or too crunchy as you might get with springrolls or any kind of deepfried food. Five Spice Duck Big Noodle Bowl with Fresh Rice Noodles — the bowl this came out in was pretty large and I expected it to be quite full to satisfy two people, but the portion is good enough for one person. This dish tasted quite good and I really enjoyed it! It wasn’t too anything, but just right. The only«complaint» that I might give this is that the portion of the duck could have been a little more. Chicken Thai Fried Rice — I love me some fried rice! This was really good as well! The flavor of the rice is a little different from other Thai fried rice that I’ve had, but in a good way. It’s very flavorful but not overpowering and I would definitely get this the next time I eat here. All in all the experience at Nodus was good and the food was very tasty. We’ll definitely be going here again to try out some of the other dishes. The manager or owner who was at the front was also very gracious and offered us some drinks on the house which was very much appreciated! The Thai Iced Tea was also good and it being free was an extra plus. The meal for two of us including the tip came out to $ 26 which was not bad at all. There were a few«over rice» dishes that were under $ 7 which I want to try. Sorry for the lack of pictures of the actual food as we were hungry and ate things quickly.

Just opened today and it’s a great addition to the plethora of restaurants along Queens Blvd. My friend and I went at 6PM on opening day. The wait staff seemed a bit disorganized but I will give them the benefit of the doubt because it was their first day open. My friend ordered the Thai Paella($ 14) which he raved about. I also got a taste of the chicken fried rice which tasted quite different from the Paella as it had different seasoning. I had the wide noodles w/Five Spice Duck. It was a huge bowl for only $ 8. Everyone who knows me knows I love my noodles & soup. The dish had plenty of noodles and duck. I found it a little on the sweet side but was assured that I could order it spicier next time and they would make that accommodation. The waitress also bought out three different types of Thai seasonings to make it spicier. I also got a delicious sangria in a Buddha shaped glass. Unfortunately they didn’t have any dessert but the waitress said that it is forthcoming. Will definitely return for the great food and the hospitality provided by the owners.
