Found this place as an accident. My husband was getting swarmma from the place next door and I was craving Asian. Smelled the wonderful food from the street and decided to try it out. Ordered the lunch special. I received a Thai salad which was refreshing and delicious. Also had the beef satay and that was great as well. The main stand out was the Pad Thai with chicken. Oh how yummy it was. I’ve never had Pad Thai and now it’s one of my favorite things. Definitely recommend this place.

Really didn’t like this place. The veggies used seemed frozen from a bag, bad seasoning on pad Thai, just all and all, not good.

Food was great but my stomach didn’t agree. But I would try it again and order something different. However, great dessert and thai ice tea! Service was good too!

I was disappointed to be honest staff was not very welcoming had soft shell crab should have tasted fresher than it did… had the wing dings again flavor wise not impressing lacked seasoning. I think after that just went down hill from there. Rather just leave it like that, I’ll pass next time.

I love Yum Yum! Quick delivery, attentive waitstaff when you are dining in, great bang for your buck. Try the Yum duck or green papaya salad.

Every time I hit Queens, I HAVE to go here!!! Their Pad Thai with shrimp is absolutely delicious!!! The Thai ice tea is super yummy! Getting the check took forever during my last visit but that wont deter another future visit.

Definitely not the best Thai Food in Queens but this is still one of my frequent lunch spots whenever I am in the area. They have very affordable lunch specials and I find myself going for one of the curry specials every time I walk in. Worth a try!

Possibly one of the most unwelcoming places. I walked in with four friends WITH a reservation. After standing around and what seem like lots of confusion on their behalf and lots of staring, they offered tables by the door with a chilly draft included. When we asked for another table, again more staring and this time with some attitude. The food was OK. Not worth the service though. They offer decent vegetarian options. But they forgot my friends drink and brought her the wrong plate. When we tried to return it… you guessed it. More attitude! Wouldn’t come here on a busy night.

Yum Yum is a Sunnyside fixture, enjoyed by many locals. As it turns out, it has a cool and ample bar, good for hanging and drinking… surprising for a Thai place, but not for Sunnyside. There is a busy main dining area and a nook in the back with a few more intimate tables. Yum Yum has great flavors and average service. Do yourself a favor and don’t just get Pad Thai… the kitchen does a nice job of «layering» flavors so nothing overpowers you. A treat. It’s a fun date restaurant, and it is modestly-priced compared to Manhattan Thai dining. There’s a bargain-hunter’s vibe with daily specials, but this place must have pressure from the landlord. Serving sizes are relatively modest and the liquor helps to pay the bills, so expect to be asked a few times if you want another drink. Comically small bathrooms, like in Manhattan.

Used to go here all the time but the quality of the food has gone downhill, along with service. Had an extremely rude server tonight who hassled me about my ID when I ordered a mojito(despite the fact that I am over 21 and had valid ID) and had a poor experience with all the waitresses, who hovered over me when we got the check as though we were about to dine and dash. None of them made eye contact with us and overall it felt like we were in prison and not in a restaurant we were paying to be in… for better service and better food I’d say you’re better off heading to Dee Thai a block away.

No offense but I tried it again to make sure that my palate is correct and it’s been correct. If you’re new to the neighborhood and want to try some great Thai food, ask and I’ll tell you where, not very far from this restaurant and I’ve reviewed that place once before. Anyway, I came here for lunch this time. I was here for dinner before but didn’t experience the real authentic Thai food. So I figured they’d have a different chef at lunch time. But nope, it’s not that«yum yum» here. The service didn’t impress me either. Yum yum doesn’t have sweet pleasant servers like many other Thai restaurants. Without a smile the waitress served me at the beginning. I tried asking questions about the food but she wasn’t interested in telling me more about the menu. At the end she got better. I know, it’s not easy to handle a service business, just have to keep up! No one was at the restaurant except me. I’m glad some viewers like the place, it helps local businesses *:) However, this is just another Thai restaurant with a lot of Chinese-style cooking around it. I don’t mind it if I’m looking for Chinese food that day but I wanted to try the Thai spice from here. The taste is far from Thai-style cooking. Pad Kee Mao looked different. OK, don’t go by the look. How about the taste? The taste was way off. I wished I could be more generous with the review but I can’t. I have to be fair. Bāy.

They have really cheap lunch special that includes appetizer and entrée but it’s really small… So it’s good if you’re not that hungry and want something cheap(8) or if you just wanted to sample something Last time i came here i asked for extra peanuts and they charged me $ 2 without letting me know until i got the bill. For that price, i might as well bring my own next time. Jk but it would’ve been nice if they asked if it was ok with me bc i would’ve def said nvm The food is soso, come if you want cheap lunch special :)

I have been here more than 5 times for both drinks and dinner. The food is great. Haven’t had any complaints there. I’ve had the shrimp fried rice, squid dish and more. They were all great. I’ve had the lychee daquiri which is to die for! I have not tried any of the other drinks although people I know have and they did not complain based on their preferences. Only con is that I wish the place was a little bigger.

This place is nice and cozy. I’ve been here about 4 times, I love there lunch special but if you not ordering from the lunch special this place is a little bit pricy. There food was good every time I went back expect this last time. I order a basil ginger sauce with chicken and when it finally came the dish looked so colorless like hardly any vegetables I had literally 2 piece of baby corn carrots and some shallot and the rest was covered in onions and it was missing a lot of flavors so it tasted blend. However there fried rice is pretty good: I just wish the waiters would be more patient with you. I feel like they just want you to eat and leave and even when your not finish eating there like oh can I take this now and not to be rude I didn’t want to say no. They have a full bar and there Thai ice tea is pretty good as Well!

Consistent, not to greasy Thai food that delivers quickly with a price to match. Portion sizes are decent, I typically stick to their curries and noodle dishes.

Not the best thai food by far. However, I give this 4 stars because of their really cheap, pretty good lunch special. It’s $ 6.50 for an appetizer and a main entrée consisting of vegetable or tofu, or chicken or pork. This is one of the best deals around for lunch. Like I said its not the best Thai food you’ll eat, but this is a great deal. Also the location is very convenient near the 7 train subway. And it adds more diversity to the neighborhood!

Our go-to Thai food place in Sunnyside, but I’ve got a friend who makes the trip from Brooklyn for some Yum Yum! We stick with standard favorites– Pad Thai, Pad Woo Sen, Summer Rolls– and are always satisfied. Green Curry with chicken is also very good. We’re fans!

The food here lacks the requiring character when you are craving Thai. It all tasted very bland to me(Massaman Chicken Curry & Dumplings), especially when comparing to previous flavors of Thai cuisine in the area(Thai Malay, Dee Thai, and the now gone Thai Origin-BOO!). The Cabernet is awful; i left a nearly full glass on the table. The glass it was served in looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie. I had a stare off contest with it, as i was worried it might turn into Sweeney Todd. The ambiance approach is that of a very commercialized feel. Im not quite sure on how to elaborate on that comment, but if you walk by and have a meal inside, i think you’ll get what i mean. Taking the aforementioned negativities into account, the service was incredibly attentive and accommodating(i asked for fried dumplings while the menu only offers steamed-they made it!)

I had the 5 course prix fixe for 17.95. I got spicy shrimp soup, salad and spring rolls, massaman shrimp curry with white rice and green tea ice cream. Everything was tasty and the portions were appropriate to get your fill without going overboard. I left full and happy. There were only a few people working there but that was more than enough to handle the crowd inside. it wasnt too packed and we only waited 3 minutes to sit while they cleared a table for us. The service was good aside from the fact that one of the waitresses dropped a fork on the floor near where my 4 month old son was sleeping in his stroller and woke him up. That could have ended badly but it was an accident, so no harm no foul.

On the third day of my cholesterol reduction bender I was trying to branch out from Indian food and hummus. Yum Yum Queens fit the bill since there was vegetable versions of many items and it was open late(until 11.) The Panang curry was very good. I don’t know the technical terms; it has coconut milk and looks orange. Perhaps my years of abundant meat-eating made unaware that there $ 7.95 entrees in Thai restaurants. I liked that there was actual crunch in the string beans. I strongly recommended the coconut milk soup, which has a tangy lime thing going on.

Yum Yum Queens is NOT the same restaurant as the 3 Yum Yum restaurants in Hells Kitchen on 46th and 9th. The menu, specials, and prices are different. Noodles in broth is not offered here. I came here for the lunch special(runs till 4:00pm on weekdays, later than the other restaurants along Queens Blvd. usually ending at 3:00pm), which comes with an appetizer and a main dish with a selection of chicken, pork, or beef. I ordered dumplings for my appetizer which turned out to be 2 dumplings the size of my thumbs(not the size of king kong, just average) and Basil Fried Rice with portions which looked like a sample of the dish. First thought, «Did I order the kid’s meal?» But for $ 6.95, can’t complain. An appetizer runs that much or even more at some restaurants. The taste itself was great. Am I returning? Depends. If it’s past 3:00pm and have nowhere else to grub.

From Bangkok Boulevard( ) to the outskirts of Little Thailand(Woodside), Yum Yum’s touchdown into Sunnyside isn’t as random as it seems. Similarly to its Hell’s Kitchen counter parts, it’s food offerings are literally subpar of that of their competition. As the only prominent Thai restaurant on this stretch of Queens Blvd(other than Dee Thai [ ), the first thing one might notice about this small joint is their prices. Most items are significantly cheaper than anywhere else in the neighborhood from $ 1.50-$ 2.00 lower. I’ve not heard of a $ 6 lunch pre-fixe till I came here, but it was one of the first things I’ve had. The portions were in line with the price: small. Despite the prices, the food is not particularly spectacular. Noodle dishes like pad thai or pad see yu have been pretty inconsistent compared to their watery curry. I could probably get behind the fried rice(pineapple, seafood, etc.) and fresh papaya salads more than anything else they offer. The drinks are forgettable, as are most of the desserts. While it’s fine for the most part, the service can be as up and down as the food. They have their days where they’re attentive and quick. Then there are other days where the enthusiasm is just not there. Not saying people are supposed to be uppity and happy all the time, but it doesn’t take much for patrons to sense any moodiness exhibited by the staff. In what might be the cheapest sit down option in the hood, the recession special prices at YYQ will likely prove to be enough for them to stick around for the foreseeable future.
