Al’s Liquors

I used to frequent the two Mexican joints in this same strip. Al’s liquors was for the post weird beverage run. Everything you’d see at most typical liquor stores. Booze, soft drinks, Lottery items, snacks. Some of the folks sitting/​loitering outside are interesting/​sketchy, but otherwise it’s your average little bodega

We hate coming here unless we absolutely have to in a pinch. Yes they have a variety of spirits, candy, lotto scratchers, chips and such, and their prices are OK at best. The gripe that makes me write this review is that the guys that work there are A-​holes! I’m not talkin’ a one occasion incident, I’m talkin’ years of business. We’ve found ourselves lately going out of our way to not have to come here and after today’s incident it was confirmed for me. i
We were given a visa gift card for my birthday and have been using it here and there. We were unsure exactly how much was on it but wanted to exhaust it so we could throw it out. My woman tried to buy a little something today and the $ 10 purchase was too much for the card to handle. The «gentleman» behind the counter proceeded to exclaim out loud so that the patrons standing in line behind her could hear, «Excuse me, your ATM doesn’t have any money on it! I need to trace this card this card!» She told him that he didn’t need to be so loud and was offered a real card to complete the transaction.
I myself have experienced snippy remarks and witnessed attitude toward other female patrons. It’s just bad business!
We have a new favorite place, Bob’s Liquor #5 around a couple corners but within two minutes away, always pleasant and went out of their way to learn our names to greet us as we walked in. That’s Class!

Great selection of lotto scratchers. The scratchers are displayed under the glass counters at both registers. There are two glass display cases total but they sometimes have new scratchers in display boxes on top too. They currently have the only $ 10 scratcher offered by CA and a large variety of $ 5, $ 3, $ 2, and $ 1 scratchers.
This is typical liquor store where you can find a variety of beverages (beer to soda) and snacks/​candy. There are bigger and better «liquor» stores in the area but this is the one of the best locations for scratchers.
