Your typical neighborhood joint with so-so food. A bit salty, not the best quality meats(or meats mixed with other stuff). Super burrito was ok, even if there were large portions of shredded cheese and not much guac. Chips and/or salsa do not come with your plates/meals. Horchata(no ice) seemed watered down, which ironically is more to my taste since it wasn’t as sweet, but I suspect unappreciated by most. On the flip side, the staff were friendly, quick, and efficient. The enchilada plate came in oversized portions, so come if you’re hungry.

I ate there last night, as the mercado next door burned down. I spent all day running to the bathroom. It must have been an off night, because the chicken mole was pretty bad. It was an authentic«experience» though.

Passed by this place so many times but never gone in until recently. One day I was hungry, tired and desperate, and pulled in because it was close to home. Was I glad I did. I got hooked on the super burrito and next time I plan to expand and try other items on the menu. The restaurant I find to be a lot more inviting than just looking at it from the outside. You can tell there are many regulars which is a good sign. They have horchata too.

One of the best taquerías in the area. Food is tasty and authentic. Has a good variety of dishes and prices are more than reasonable.

My favorite taqueria in town. So glad they’re back open after the fire! Their chicken dishes are the best.

They’re back! They have reopened after the fire a few places down. Back to amazingness!

This restaurant is currently closed for business. Hopefully, it’s for a remodel. Otherwise, best burrito ever!

I have been coming here for years… it is walking distance from my house — always good food and we have had good service. Unfortunately when I drove by the other day, the entire parking lot was gated off and all of the businesses closed. My worst fear is that another horrendous apartment complex has just taken out one of my favorite Mexican places!

It was between this place and mercado la torre. Both said best burrito in town on the door. Most had very few reviews over the last 6 months, probably about a 3 star rating for both. I had previously been to la torre so I decided to try this place out. Price was ok, 7 bucks for a super burrito The staff were friendly Place is a bit dated A bit of a funky smell But the dining area seemed clean and well put together But the burrito was meh. The carne asada had a strange texture, somewhere between ground beef and wet jerky. The rest of the burrito was ok but the flavor a were all mulled together so you couldn’t really tell if the rice or guac or sauce were any good. The salsa that came with it was good. Probably wouldn’t try again.

Would not even consider going here after the way I was treated. Rude hostess. When I asked if I could seat outside with my Service Animal and showed the hostess my Service Animal registration she refused service to me. Then another customer walked in. Place was empty Hostess was rude. She said«get out if the way of the customers». Place was empty. Sheesh

Carne asada super burrito was really good. Had everything in it, guac, sour cream?, two types of cheese it seemed like. The red salsa they gave me to go with it was also really tasty: only a little spicy but a really great red chili flavor. I think I’ll ask for two containers of that next time. The horchata was average — not the best, but not bad. Got my order to go and it was super fast… in fact I think it was *faster* than my favorite spot! Came here because my favorite burrito place was closed. These guys seem to stay open until 10pm, which will definitely earn them some of my business. I’m going back for sure.

I had the Carne Asada fries and it was amazing! It had all the fixing in it. It was so delicious I am already thinking about going back to get it.

This was probably the worst burrito I’ve ever had. It was extremely floppy and hard to hold. Inside was just rice, beans, and meat. No salsa, pico de gallo, guac, etc despite asking for everything. Parts of the tortilla were hard and stale. Go next door to Mercado la Torre.

I started coming here about two weeks awhile trying to combat a hardcore hangover. The usual place I go to shut down. The food here is super bomb and priced really well. I hit this place up all the time now. A hidden gem. The service is excellent, they’re always attentive and the food is always piping hot n’fresh. I love it.

An oldie but a goodie. Love the food, love the service, place is a little run down. But other than that, I love coming back and the same people are here. Very inviting. We used to come here all the time when we lived down the street. It’s been a while so we stopped in for dinner and it was like it was years ago. Same friendly faces and good food.

Pretty decent/good Mexican food and pretty authentic(can order in Spanish if you so wish) Parking lot is very tiny and not the hugest interior but tends to not be too crowded due to location Food has good portions and the waitresses are friendly but it seems like they have very few staff Food comes out pretty fast when doing takeout Enchiladas are decent. Quesadillas, burritos, and tacos(authentic!) are very tasty Only thing I’m not a fan of is the ‘steak’. Very small portion for that but at the same time, remember this is not a steakhouse either!

I was just looking for a quick dinner after work but this place was a pleasant surprise. I got cabeza tacos and a lengua burrito. The cabeza was very tender and juicy and came was topped with the normal onions and cilantro. I was excited to find lengua burritos, which I haven’t seen much in my hometown. The people working in the restaurant seemed friendly and pleasant and were very nice about answering my questions about the menu. Definitely dragging my boyfriend here on another day.

This place is solid. I pretty much always get the same thing and haven’t really tried anything else, because the super carne asada burrito is just so good. The people that work there are very nice and always provide excellent service.

I always feel mean giving a low rating to a restaurant. This place was kind of a tough one. Given the name, I was expecting a taqueria. I planned to order a good plate of tacos to go, and an horchata if they had any. As I drove up, I noticed that they’re right next door to another Mexican restaurant. Weird. There isn’t really anything else in the shopping center either. I walked in and was ushered into a seat. Apparently this is a sit-down place, which is again odd. They have a big menu on the wall above the counter, but I was brought a menu by a server instead. She also brought two different salsas and STOREBOUGHT chips. The round ones from Costco. The salsa was good, but absolutely wasted on these chips. I ordered 3 carnitas tacos with just onions and cilantro on them. The tortillas, I suspect, were also store bought. They were dry and hardly stuck together. At a good taqueria, these would be homemade and soft. The carnitas were dry. I don’t know how you make dry carnitas, since cooking them involves braising them in their own juices until they fall apart, then frying them to make some crispy bits. These were dry, grease and juice free, and surprisingly bland. The horchata was watery. There’s a big sign on their fountain(real horchata isn’t in a fountain either) saying that there are no refills. So they’re stingy with their horchata water. 1 star for being at least filling at having good salsa. +1 for service. Go somewhere else.

El Grullo is a decent place to get some Mexican food. There was nothing special about the décor and it was kind of on the warm side. I was sweating after one taco! The prices are reasonable and they offer many different items on their menu. The taco dish I ordered was pretty good. The carne asada was fresh and the rice had good flavors to it. One thing I didn’t like was the uncleanliness of the joint. It was dusty and it just didn’t feel right. Would I come back? Probably yes because I love tacos and this place satisfies my stomach.
